Chapter 119: Art of Seduction
Maddie
Since I arrived here, everything has fallen into place. I’m no longer a prisoner of the pack, but can move free from one place to another. Oscar and Vera seem to be staying out of anything to do with running the pack. So my mates have taken over more and more power.
The routine is fantastic and I feel more comfortable every day. However, the situation with Logan remains unresolved. He avoids me, but when he’s around, he won’t take his eyes off me. While I’m happy in Moonvalley and know he’s done a lot to make sure everything is okay, there are still a lot of things I can’t easily forgive.
We’re in a sort of limbo where I am the Luna but haven’t been fully accepted by everyone yet, and right now I don’t care. I want to enjoy my mates and the love they both give me.
I have told them that I love them, and it is true. I want to be with them no matter what, and the more I learn about the pack, the more I feel that this is my place. Moonvalley is getting stronger every day, and I know they have taken significant security measures. They have erected barriers and there are guards everywhere. At the entrance, there is the skeleton of one of the giant beasts Logan brought with him. It’s terrifying, and although it’s a big worry where they come from and what their purpose is... I'm living in my perfect little world at the moment.
“I hope you have a great trip and enjoy it as much as you can. You know, after everything we’ve been through,” I say goodbye to my friend and her mates who are about to leave for a short vacation. I know they can not wait to be alone, just the three of them, without so many commitments. My mates rely on the twins for everything, and the poor boys need a break.
"Oh, believe me, we will! Besides, the Alphas have given us a wonderful trip to a paradise island. So I plan on being completely naked on the beach, if possible, on top of my mates," she says without shame.
"Robin!"I give her a playful shove.
"Ohhh believe me girl, you should do the same. Take my advice... when you're with both of your mates at the same time, you'll see what I mean...everything will be different. You'll thank me later," she says, winking at me. She happily walks off with the blondes, who are holding her hands and looking at her with adoration.
Sighing, I head back to the packhouse, and for a few days I can't get the idea out of my head. My mates have been extremely careful with me. Although we've had our passionate moments, they've not been exactly what I want. I really need them, and I know they need me too. I know you're being chivalrous.
But today seems to be the perfect time. We have a meeting with the warriors in the great hall. Some of them still seem to be on Alpha Oscar's side, and my mates want to show them who's in charge. And of course, I'm going with them to support them.
Maybe it's because of that, or just because we've had one drama after another, a series of unfortunate events that have separated and brought us together, that I've decided I don't want to waste more time. I want to enjoy this strange life that I've earned through my own efforts. I have conquered the rite, and my little wolf is always looking for me, waiting outside while he goes on with his life.
I am Luna, whether they like it or not, whether the Council and the other packs agree or not. Maybe Robin is right - this is our lot, and we have to make the best of it.
And here I am, getting ready for an important dinner, a gala. I'm picking between a couple of dresses I found in my closet, brand new, with tags, beautiful and elegant. How I wish Robin were here to help me! She would tell me to choose the exact opposite of what I'm thinking.
"Think, Maddie, think."
One of the dresses is the right choice: elegant, sexy and formal at the same time. The other one has something... it's not exactly revealing, but the sheer fabric here and there gives it a touch of mischief and flirtation, just what I need right now. Not to mention the neckline and the side slit - it leaves me speechless when I put it on.
I want to take things further with my men. Robin told me that having them both will be crucial in our relationship, and I feel more than ready for it. As soon as I put the dress on, I know I've made the right choice.
I put on a coat and just as I'm ready, Kurt walks in. I put his mother's necklace around my neck, hanging just the way they liked it: between my breasts, now pressed against my bra.
"Mate, you look wonderful..." he whispers when he sees me. He's dressed all in black, which brings out his blond hair and bad boy looks even more. He places his hands on my waist and looks at me through the mirror.
"You look pretty good yourself, my Alpha," I reply, seeing a mischievous smile on his face.
"Looks like you're up to something, huh?" he says, running his fingers lightly down my neck, brushing the chain. "Come on, they're waiting for us, and besides, I want to go in with you. Let everyone see the beautiful mate the goddess has given me" he adds.
As we enter, I see the great hall elegantly decorated. Before, this place was the scene of all my nightmares, too many terrible things happened here. But tonight, it looks like a dream, like a fairy tale, a grand banquet with a lot of people.
There are rows and rows of wolves, warriors and she-wolves with many mates; Kurt and I walk through the crowd to the head of the table where Dominic is waiting for us.
"Alpha, Luna," warriors say as we pass. Further ahead, I see Logan talking to the leader of the warriors, watching me with an unreadable expression that makes me feel things.
"Let me help you," Dominic says after greeting me with a kiss and looking at me like I'm worth a million dollars. He takes off my coat, and when they see the dress, I can tell they freeze. Although no one else seemed to notice, everyone continued to chat as if nothing had happened. I hear a rough voice coming from my mates, though it seems more like their wolves speaking.
"Mate looks delicious."
"Are you trying to kill us?"
"I just thought you'd like the dress," I reply, feigning a little modesty and innocence.
"Yeah, the problem is we like it too much," Dominic replies in a raspy voice. As we sit down, They grow restless next to me. Logan glances at me out of the corner of his eye as well, but he seems to forget about me as the dinner presentations begin. They talk about what's happened and how the pack needs to grow stronger, while I try to maintain a regal posture.
Then I sense Kurt's hand on my leg, moving dangerously upward.
