Chapter 149: Dealing with wolves

"Kevin? No... it can't be."
"Why not, Maddie? Just because you're surrounded by our enemies, the strong wolves, you think I'm incapable of doing anything brave or smart? Is this how you welcome me after so long? Me... your boyfriend" he whispers.
It feels like years since we last saw each other, when I visited the Three Streams, and he didn't even speak to me. Back then I was afraid of my mates who were trying to be close to me by approaching my family. He still looks young and attractive, but I no longer see him with the same eyes. He looks worn out, consumed by bitter hatred.
"You, wolf... your work here is done. I'll let you know if our agreement stands. You know what to do," Kevin says to Arthur.
"You don't give me orders, human," Arthur replies.
"I do if you want to get what you want. Now go, they need you in the town," Kevin snaps. The wolf seems reluctant to leave me here, but eventually he does. The town? Goddess! Robin, the twins... Dominic; what's going on there?
I suppose whatever Kevin promised to Arthur must be very important. A mate is what him, like many wolves, wants. But what could Kevin have to do with it? I start to scream, and he holds me tight, looking at me with hatred.
"Kevin, this is madness! You have to leave. My mates..." I say, hoping to frighten him.
"Ohhh Maddie...your stupid mates are far away. The eldest is almost dead. The one who can't keep his hands off you is already in the town. And the blonde is his own business a few miles away. You're alone, Maddie, as I wanted you to be. And believe me, it took a lot of effort, because you're always surrounded by one of that bastards! If you're not under one, you're in front of another, and if you're not, you're in between... aren't you ashamed? My messengers tell me these triplets fuck you day and night, and you scream like a little pig," he says cruelly. I realized he'd been watching me obsessively.
"You bastard! This is madness! What did you do? Are you on the side of the enemy? Do you really want to hurt humans?" I cry out in despair. This had taken a turn I hadn't anticipated.
"How dare you say that? I've always been on the side of the humans! I haven't forgotten all the terrible things the wolves did to us. Not like you, who are one of them now. But that's why you're here, that's why we need you. You're in a privileged position within this pack of animals, and you're going to help us. You must help your own kind, Madeleine,' he whispers. There's no doubt in my mind that he's the one who sent the messages. He's been watching me with the help of Arthur and who knows who else; carefully planning for when my mates leave the pack.
"So you have been watching me, waiting for this, sending me messages, stalking me. What's your goal? You say I'm taking the side with wolves, but you worked with Arthur to bring me here. You're contradicting yourself!
"Do you think I like working with wolves? Those disgusting beasts? But it's the only way. Sometimes, when you can't beat the enemy, join them. In the town, we're tired of living in fear, and we want to get our land back. We've suffered too many losses, and we understand that the only way is to work with them. At least with some of them. We've finally made a deal."
"What the hell are you talking about? And what have I got to do with it?"
"You? Well, it turns out you're the bitch of some important Alphas, the damned Three Dragons. Who would've thought? The plain, silly girl who was nothing special, not even pretty! The girl I was grooming to be mine, to have some fun with until I could settle down with a decent girl... you're the key to all this," he yells. His words hurt more than I expected.
"Is that what you think of me? Is that what you've always thought?" I ask, trying to get my hands free. He comes closer and grabs my face.
"Of course. My best friend's stupid little sister. It was supposed to be easy; you'd fall head over heels for me, give yourself away and fulfil all my fantasies. But now you're completely ruined. Three men, Madeleine? You're a disgrace!" he snapped. He lifts me up and presses me against a tree. I trembled. He's a cruel, horrible man... he hates me and he hates women. I've never heard him talk like that!
"You are a whore! Three men had you, possessed you? They fucked you everywhere, and you let them? They all cum in you? You let them have you naked in their bed while they share you? How does that work? Tell me," he asks perversely, pinning me to the tree.
