I laughed as he kept his hand on my thigh and his free one on his gun. "Jesus relax... trust me you have about 5 snipers on you right now and if you pull it, they won't hesitate...." I said warning as I got out.
Once I punched my code into the pad that lit up just inches from the SUV door and watched as it slowly rose open, and lights again lit the way and speakers crackling to life. "Hello, Ms. Ribbonowski very nice to have you at our facility... Dr. Mousensore will be with you shortly, we have an unidentifiable male escorting you. We'll need to get him ran in our system for security measures ma'am" the genetic center's enter core said. "OK, I can promise he's not a threat Nora... he's actually here to keep me safe so let them all know that ok. Also, when I'm done here, we'll get everything up to date in the system" I said. A second later there was a man approaching us and was one of the guards from the team as he carried a very big gun. "We'll handle it right here Ms. we are now able to do it from each room and I must insist or will have to have him wait in the SUV" the very big man said.
Sebastian did what was asked of him as the computer took a scan of his hand, spit, and even scanned his whole body with some type of thing that showed if he had anything on him. Especially anything that could cause a reaction to the tanks and what was held inside. After a good 20 mins everything was done and Dr. Mousensore had arrived greeting the both of us with warmth. "I'm so happy you decided to take the trip again and at least this time they are actually here, and we have new things I'd love to show you" he said leading the way. I put my hand on the scanner that opened the door to the final room and stood back as we all watched the room light up with special lights around the tanks that held my baby girls. "It's alright it's a lot to take in for the first time... take your time" Dr. Mousensore said. I went to take a step in when Sebastian went in ahead of me with his hand on his gun and checking the room. "Mr. Santano sir I can guarantee that this place and this room are safe, that's one reason our facility doesn't have an actual address and can only be found by GPS signals. That are sent to our clients" Dr. Mousensore said.
Sebastian had still quickly looked around before I finally stepped into the room when Sebastian held out his hand and pulled me to him. "You sure... I'm really trying to understand all this and why you did it..." "I'm not sure of anything right now except for this right now since... ugh my mother wants them out of here and in the mausoleum" I said just not able to picture it. "Shit might as well do it since I don't even come here and might not have the time to do so" I thought to myself as I slowly stepped closer to the tanks alone. I found myself looking at them and then picturing them as they did in my dream state. As I looked closer in at them, I could have sworn I saw them breathing. Dr. Mousensore came up next to me a min later with a remote in his hand. "I sent you a booklet about a month ago, but you never got back to me, I might have overstepped in something, but I guess you can be the judge of that" he said handing me the remote. I looked down at it and then at him tilting my head from side to side with a little confusion. "Ok well what is the remote to?" I asked not taking my eyes off of him.
Dr. Mousensore slowly reached across and touched the "open" button and a drawer under the tanks opened and there laid to identical babies that looked like mine in their tanks. "They are proto-types and well there is only you that have babies in my newest facility I wanted to give you the opportunity to actually hold them again whenever you want and...." "why... why would you think this girl would want this... she's been here for the first time now and you just spring this on her" Sebastian was once again stepping in and protecting me from something that he thought was hurting me. I reached into the drawer and touched one of the prototype dolls and it moved opening its eyes and crying out. "Oh, wow ok that's not normal!" Ethan said in my ear as he too was seeing what I was seeing. Very slowly reaching in I picked up one of the dolls and couldn't believe how real she felt as she moved as though she were real. I took the chair that was next to the tank and held the doll in my arms as it was dressed in a nightgown.
After a few more seconds of taking, it all in I touched the babies face and watched as though the doll felt it and smiled. "They do more and right now we are just experimenting and maybe sooner rather than later we'll have all the kinks worked out. How would you like to feed her... of course I mean that they move their mouths and suckle" the Dr said as he stuck a binkie in her mouth. I watched in such amazement on how the prototype could have so many moving parts. "Can... I'm coming back tomorrow but for now... I—I how am I supposed to just leave now with this happening?" I said wishing I could take them with me. "How much to take them home with me for one night?" I asked without even thinking and Sebastian gasped. Dr. Mousensore smiled at me "Darling they are so rare, but hey you already pay a good amount of money to have your babies here in our tanks. That I'm willing to let you take them home... it's perfect actually and you can tell me what you think. I can even program more into them now and see how it works. I mean the whole works of them crying, sleeping even going through the motions of wet and pooping... and who knows maybe when you come, back we can talk more" he said and a second later a guard walked in with 2 baby carriers and slowly put them both inside.
Before I knew it, I was given directions and we were on our way after I kissed my real girls through the glass. "Mommy loves you both and you'll have more visitors soon" I whispered knowing that this could all be over soon. The guard carried the car seats to the back of the SUV and buckled them in and helped me in next. Sebastian was in the front seat in a flighting speed and stone cold silent all the way out of the facility. "I could not get a single signal in that place which means I'm in big shit in 3-2-1" the car phone rang out and a second later my fathers panicked voice came clear and loud in the speakers. "Damn it you 2 what the hell is going on? I just found the challenger at the gym... you two nowhere in sight and the SUV off grid..." "Sir.. relax we're fine hit some traffic with power line and other shit happening all around. We are back on track and should be home soon" he said calming my father right down. "Ok.... mother and I won't be leaving until you are home so hurry up... umm as for Cate she said she tried waiting but had a few things to take care of but will be back later.." my father said before hanging up. "Hmm not sure how I'm going to hide the two of them!" I muttered to myself.
