My father Ethan finally interrupted us after a good 20 mins and Catherine still sobbing off and on. "Girls, do you need anything from me want to talk about what's happening" his tone was now getting that of a worried father. I opened the door and saw his worry along with Sharene who was standing at the end of the hall and trying to look in. "No, we are coming out now, but Cate might need some advice at a later date, and I told her to talk with you about it..." "My parents are divorcing after 25 years of marriage... I'm never doing that to myself or my heart" she did her best to calm down as she cut me off and leaving the office in front of us. Sharene held open her arms and Catherine was back to crying again as they hugged one another and Sharene was now all teared up which hurt my heart like a knife. "Come girls let's sit down and eat, talk, drink and forget about all the worries on our minds. Plus, Catherine has yet to see our tattoos" I giggle as I hugged them as they were still attached. "You did it again without me... I've been begging you to wait and yet you just go and do it?" Catherine was now wide eyed and glaring at me. "Just look crazy girl... and if you want one just say the word since I have Paul here until we are done and I have 1 more to go along with Sharene who will go before me" I point pulling down the cover only to cover it back over my hips when she growled. I walked behind the girls after Sharene showed off her tattoo as well and Catherine loved it. Catherine sat near my parents needing to have them close since they had been just as much her parents as they were mine and hers being mine making me feel like their divorce was now hurting me too. I listened to the conversations around the table and loved that we all got along even though I was still waiting on a bomb to drop about how I could live so far away from family and the woman I was in love with. Ari asked how I was liking school and the classes I was in which was a great conversational piece. "Well I took on 4 classes which was probably crazy for my first year out but I love them all Chemistry is my favorite, Law is my next, mathematics and philosophy, and History (ancient and modern) so the last two are more like taking 8 classes all together instead of just 4. I am hoping that my tests I just took last week are up and ready when I get back, I have not had time to even look at them since I've been here and just decided to wait until I got back home just in case it didn't turn out the way I had hoped" I shrugged and we all dove deeper into why I wanted those other classes. Dinner lasted a good hour with desert lasting another 45 mins with conversations all over the place which were good and Paul and Catherine had went into the other room to design her up a tattoo while Sharene was feeding and then putting Madeline to bed. I had followed along since I wanted to see her off to sleep for the last time until I got to see them both again. "This is starting to get hard on me..... This has also become my fav. thing to do at night putting her to bed and watching you both together it's just so magical" I always got lost watching Sharene be one with Madeline even at that moment as she sat in the nursery rocking Madeline.
Sharene didn't say anything just snuggled close to my side and sighed, putting my arm around her shoulder I knew she felt the loneliness already and I had not even left yet just like I had started to feel it too. Sharene and Madeline had both fallen asleep while I rocked back and forth and could not help but feel the little ache in my chest at how much I had fallen for them both. "Shar baby.... you still want this other tattoo, or should I put you to bed?" I nuzzled her softly. Sharene stirred when Madeline grunted as though she was not about to go down without a fight. "Y-e-s, I'm going to use the bathroom while you put her in her crib. I'll meet you in the hall when we're done" she her lips met mine kissing my lips and then Madeline's cheek. Madeline cried out for a second until Catherine and Amelia surrounded her and put up their protection. "That's my girls..." I whispered to all 3 of them. Sharene had beat me to the hall since I was still watching my girls as they had snuggled close to Madeline. I was falling apart inside as I walked away leaving the 3 of them and feeling my heart beating rapidly. "Baby you ok? You look upset..." I pulled Sharene to me before she could say anything else and held her taking in her scent and wanting it on me. "I'm fine... just wish things were.... I don't know different. My heart is breaking, and I haven't even left yet... I have a nightmare that I'm going back to and still no answers. I'm thinking selfish thoughts but at the same time the holidays are right around the corner. I am in a battle with myself in directions that my life has taken in the last 3 months and am thinking a lot about the what ifs which are never a good idea I know..." Sharene kissed me with such passion and heat I knew she was feeling the same way. Paul and Catherine were just about done with her tattoo with an audience as the room was now full of my parents and Sharene's family too. "How many others have decided to get something now?" I asked with a smile. "Oh no we are not getting anything today but a possibility of getting one" "We are just hanging out and looking at his book he brought which he really is talented" Damara and Gemma smiled looking up at the two of us as they sat together on the love seat. Sharene stepped up close to where Catherine was lying on her stomach and looked at the tattoo. "Wow... that is amazing what does that all represent..." I gasped as I looked and saw she had put a few words that only the two of us knew what they meant. "Ummm wow well then very unique and it looks fantastic babe.. I can't believe you wanted that though.." I giggled. "Yep something that only the two of us know what it says and trust me Paul was so confused..." Catherine could not keep herself from laughing. "Ya for real.. love the other designs along with it and entwined with it. You have to really look close to even see that there are letters.. umm words there.." Paul smiled as he finished wiping her skin and showed us all before putting a bandage on it.
Paul took a 5 min break after putting the sketch on Sharene's side and let it dry. "I still can't believe you have this tattoo and are about to get this one all in one day" Catherine sat next to her looking at us both. "Well I could wait but why... I wanted to get them both before Mia left plus now, I'm addicted for sure" Sharene smiled at me as I sat in Paul's seat. "So, Cate how is Asher and his grandparents doing? I have not talked with them since I left for school" I asked, and Catherine went into it all. "He's coming out for the holidays to meet my parents, but now I'm thinking twice since not sure what is going to be happening by then or where they'll be. What are you doing for the first real break home besides this one?" she asked almost hopeful. "Well I'm coming home I believe unless something changes, and you are welcome here or...." "We are having it at the country house, and you know you are welcome there" my mother interrupted cutting me off. "I also might have some guests from school since there are a couple that really don't have family, or their family is really dysfunctional. Won't know for sure until I get back, but I now know for sure Vi won't be coming.... anyways PAUL...." I yelled out and he was back. "Chill out just had to call a buddy back sorry" he raised his hands in defense. I felt bad that he still had Sharene and I both to do and looked like he was a little tired. "Well just finish one and you can head out, I can wait for mine. I feel bad already with it being 10:30 at night, and this will take close to an hour and a half" I frowned moving from his seat.
