Sharene climbed into bed after drying her body but stayed naked even though she had a houseful of people who could come in at any moment. “I love you baby…. I will see you tomorrow, well today my time but anyways have sweet dreams of me ok” I whispered into the speaker and watched as she closed her eyes and tears started to pour from them. “I—I love you… I’m always thinking of you and daydreaming about us and how it would be if we were together always. I know you need your time which I don’t blame you… and yes you are right I knew what I wanted from the time I met my husband… then my world came crashing down when he died…. And then again when I met you and we had a connection that freaked me out to the point that I had to run away. As you can see now though I’m here pretty much begging asking you to just say the words and I’m there with Maddie for however long you are there for. I just miss you and the dreams just don’t do it for me anymore” she couldn’t help herself as she bled her emotions and yet I had a good feeling she knew exactly what she was doing.
My heart was broken again as I ended the call and thought maybe she was right and that maybe my mother was right too when she said that I needed to just take the chance and tell her everything. “Easy for her to say when dad and her, were pretty much made for one another… I am just lost I guess and no matter how much I love her is it enough to tell her everything and risk losing her forever?” I thought out loud as I sat on the edge of my bed. A knock came a few mins later at my door with Leona coming in when I gave her permission. “Sorry to bother you but…. ummm I’m thinking maybe I should go… ha-ha I’ll be fine driving I just…” “Not happening you are going to stay here…” I eyed her getting up quickly when she was becoming unsteady on her feet. She smiled and fell into me and I was thankful I had the muscle and the height to keep her up right. “Damn you are like made of steel or something…. Mmm very sexy…. Ummm ya I need to sober up and really think about leaving whether it’s 5 am or not” she was catching herself from saying something she did not want to. Her accent had felt authentic but not her GOD given one. I didn’t ask any questions about that just helped her to the front room where I could smell the coffee and had made her a good strong cup of it and continued to hold her upright as I did so. She was once again very much like me taking it with light cream and a dash of raw sugar. “Wow well than you’d think we were twins or something” “Nah…. Not even close, plus my twin and I are like tight as fuck… oh ya and he’s dead….died when we were 6 and my family was really never the same after that…” she whispered surprising me again.
Ethan was even more curious now about Leona as he had just heard her say she was also of a twin and he had died at only 6 years old along with her parents who died 10 years later when she was in high school and on a trip. “Not sure why I’m just spilling out all my dirty laundry but… I guess after what we learned today I am assuming you are about the closest to knowing exactly who I am like no one else…” she slurred and I finally picked her up and carried her to the couch putting her down with her coffee in hand. “Sit and you are not leaving until I say you are safe enough too, and if needed one of my team members can drive you and your car back to your place” she knew I meant business in my firm tone. Leona just laughed and started slurping down her coffee which got on my nerves to the point of needing to put my headphones on and listening to music while I finished studying. I had passed out on the couch and woke with a stiff neck and cover’s over me not sure who did it and when I looked around I found that Leona was gone and hoped she was ok. The clock showed that it was only 4:45 am and I was in so much pain I knew that the only thing to help would be more pain. I got dressed and headed out the door by 5am to take a good run and then got myself into a nearby gym which so far all had sucked from my tours I had taken.
The run had helped only 10% of my aching body and as I made it back home by 6:30am I found Leona’s car was back and she was inside it and again I was confused on why she chose to stay there instead of going inside. I approached the car and she got out before I got to the door and thrusted a cup of what I figured was coffee and when I tasted it was something much more and something I had never tasted. “Wow, it’s good smells horrible and I’m not about to ask what it is. I am on my way to the closest gym even though they all seem like shit…” “No, you don’t, if you want that you can come with me and I’ll show you the best place on the planet. Grab whatever you need including your team and have them follow us while we talk on our way” she smiled getting back in her car. I did what she asked and grabbed what I had need for the day including my bag of clothes and bath products with being so O.C.D about anyone else’s things but my own. Bailey and Lola did not like the idea but had already got their full report on her and she even gave it all up the night before which made them feel a little better. “Just remember she’s not our enemy and can actually be what I need in the other things in my life that are well you know complicated” I had wanted them both to try and trust her just as I was trying to in a discreet way since they had only seen a few things and I had not really saying much to them about my family history or what I was capable of.
20 mins later we were just 10 mins on the other side of the school and on a good amount of property that she seemed to own since the fence was farther than I could even see and the gate was heavy duty. She punched in her code and the doors swung open long enough to get the Lincoln truck inside behind us and it slammed closed. The ride had been pretty much made in silent with us both thinking to ourselves and a lot of electricity in the car which made us very aware of one another instead of ignoring each other. “So You left even after I told you not too, but then again I passed the fuck out….so where did you go and are you in trouble with your boss or anyone else?” I was hoping she didn’t just get fired or anything else. “Nah I am not in trouble plus I pretty much am my own boss, but have a team that does other things like I do and we come together every day to just touch base” she smiles finally looking over at me. She showed me around the house before showing me to the basement which freaked me out a bit “Ummm, so is this where you bury all the dead bodies?” I joke since my whole body is still on edge. Leona had sucked in a deep breath sounding wounded as she gripped her chest. “Oh, you are learning all my secrets now….” she laughed when I scowled. I could not believe her set up in her basement which made me so happy to see since it was some serious shit and had a few things I had in the gym back home. “Oh yes baby this is what I have missed for like the last shit 2 months now and even when I went home I did not get any good workouts in like I’m about to get now” I felt like a kid in a candy store as I started warming up. Leona decided to make the whole thing a competition which was fine with me since I loved a good work out and proving just what I had to anyone who dared to find out.
