Book 2: In the Life of Mia: College Chapter 88
After a good hour I finally let Billy go so him and his sister could have the time to spend together just in-case he ended up running and not able to stop if I couldn’t save him. “I hope you both have a very Merry Christmas and I’ll try and call you in a couple of days and let you know where we are with everything… but hold tight since everything is pretty much on hold until after the New Year so just enjoy your time together. If I can I’ll get away and come see you ok” I smiled making sure to make it not sound like a promise. Since we both knew that I would be under watch at all times’ including while I was sleeping. Once I was too tired do think about anything else, I walked the cart out and put it in the chef elevator and sent it down to the kitchen. I listened for any noise that might be happening as the staircases were pretty open all the way down and I could see that there was, only a few lights on in the foyer. I went to my bedroom and ran a nice hot bath needing it since I knew my period was to start any moment and needed a good relaxation. “Really you think after what you’ve put our family through you deserve this… you could have come home at any time yet you make not only them worry but everyone else including Sharene” Ethan was back to invading my space again.
Once the bath was full, I locked Ethan out of my thoughts even though he was pounding on the door like a crazy person. I slowly climbed in and thought about the moment baby Giovanni and I had shared earlier. “I sure hope he’s right about Billy, because he deserves to put this all behind him” I thought to myself as I washed up and sat back again to enjoy the head and pulses from the jets. I finally got out after a good 30 mins and becoming a prune with cramps that were raging through my body like a forest fire. I wrapped up in a robe and got ready for my cycle to start knowing that if I did not prepare, I’d wake up in a bloody mess the following morning. After getting completely ready for bed I climbed into bed and it was all over. I was fast asleep by 12am locking myself in my room and did not bother to move but made sure to visit Billy who I found cuddling with his pup on the couch and looked to have been crying. My heart was breaking and I hated myself sometimes for falling for such a broken young man who had completely made me hate him in the beginning and then happy with him as he understood me better than anyone else in the world. I touched his face and kissed him just before he grunted and I got out as soon as I could even though he called out my name in a soft whisper that touched me to my heart.
4:30am in came quickly and I was up and changed into my workout clothing I found in my closet all thanks to my parents who knew me in that fashion to keep my closet full of whatever I might need when I was there. I suited up quickly and was running their property full force with a team watching me from the house which did not surprise me that Bailey was not there. After all I did give him a lot to think about after showing a secret, I hoped he would be ok with since he knew there was something different about me. I ran until I couldn’t breathe any longer and finally just stopped and started to walk and then as I approached the house, I really wanted to just hi-tail it out of there. “That’s just a bitch move… if you can’t even make it work with your family how are you going to make it with anyone else. I mean damn you seem to be happier with the crazy man than you do with people who love you unconditionally” once again I was in a battle with myself and how I felt about my own life. Once my heart had come back down to normal I stopped finally feeling the air get a little cooler and enjoyed it as I slowly sat down in the middle of the greenest grass in the world and as soft as a minx rug. I laid flat and took a deep breath in smelling the cool air that touched all my hot senses.
My mind and I were so out of place not in the now, but instead lost in the moment as I was picturing what London might look like at the moment as it was winter there now. I knew there would most likely be snow on the ground and I could be cozied up to a fire drinking hot totties with my friends. My heart had finally come back down to normal as I started to relax and finally put my hands under my head and just watched as the sun rose higher in the sky and listening to the birds chirping and flying above my head. “Please if there is a GOD please help me get through the next few days including the new year and hopefully help Billy through this so I can get back to school. This is just another test to what make me stronger, weed out the idiots of my life and the ones who will just make it more toxic” I thought out loud as I looked up at the sky. I thought about my girls and what might be at their mausoleum since their father’s side of the family had probably been there and I have yet to be there since being home. I finally got up and headed up towards the house wanting to shower and take a drive out to the cemetery to see the girls and see what might have changed in the last few months and as I approached I found Lola stepping out onto the porch with a cup of coffee and what looked to be a fresh smoothie for me.
Lola smiled and handed me my cup and then opened the door, “Bailey flew to Oxford when Leona refused to let anyone take your things out of the house until after she talked to you. He called telling us she was heading this way and then called your parents when we told her she wasn’t welcome here” Lola informed me with such anger in her tone. “Ummm well am I missing something? Did Leona and my family have a falling out or is it because she’s been bad mouthing me and making me look like a total asshole back in Oxford?” I asked and to a surprise on her face told me I was right on the money. I downed my smoothie and placed it in the sink and took the medicine my mother’s medicine woman handed me. I actually hugged her since I had been off the herbs for months and really needed them to help level me out. “Ummm well Leona is she is out of control ever since you got kidnapped and she tried doing her best and one day just snapped and left without saying good bye to anyone and headed back to her life” Lola admitted even though I was sure she was not supposed to say anything. I nodded trying to understand Leona and her behavior before I headed upstairs taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
Once on the 2nd floor landing I had decided to stop where the guest rooms where and used my newest abilities to seek out Sharene which did not take long when I heard her talking with Madeline and softly knocked on the door. Sharene got up from her rocking chair she had been in and opened the door, “Well look at who we have here Maddie….” Madeline immediately smiled and reached out for me “Ma-ma…” she burst out and at first, I wasn’t sure if I was hearing her right. I looked at Sharene and she smiled than frowned “Don’t worry she calls all woman ma-ma but love it when I hear her say it to me in that same way she’s saying it to you” Sharene smiled and stepped back away from the door letting me in. I looked at her a second time to make sure it was ok and when she nodded, I slowly entered the room with Maddie in my arms even though I was all sticky from sweat. “I just wanted to check on the two of you and see how your evening went, and Maddie you are seriously putting on the pounds…” I laughed when Sharene growled. “She’s a 6-month-old baby and is actually underweight so layoff” she whispered as I sat down in the free chair and put Madeline on my knee. I bounced her a little patting her back knowing she had just eaten and was probably going to be going down to the kitchen soon for more food since breast-milk was only the start of it. I cleared my throat softly “I—I ummmm you both look great, and from what I’ve been told doing great too…” I kissed Madeline on the cheek and stood handing her back to Sharene who was tightening her robe tighter as she was coming out of the bathroom.
