Chapter 38
The look on my mothers’ face was one I had yet to see from all my many years of seeing looks of pain and disappointment in them. "I'm ok mother... just frightened me a bit but nothing I can't handle" I promised with a shaky voice even though I tried my best to hide it. The fireworks lasted close to an hour with me, and my parents all snuggled up together on the couch and enjoying the time together not knowing how long it would last. The final display lit the sky and spelled out "I LOVE YOU AMELIA" it made my mother even more relaxed and hold on tighter to us both.
Our friends had thanked my parents for a great day and evening as we all gathered to head back to shore with my friends still lounging about the deck. "Mr. Beckerman would it be alright if your grandson, stay here with me and my friends tonight? I promise to have him back to the island first thing in the morning" I asked hoping Christian would agree even though I knew Asher would be needed for the tours in the morning. "I don't see a problem with that since he's off for the next couple of days, so if he wants too and it's ok with your parents than I'm good with it" Mr. Beckerman said loud enough for Asher to hear. Asher came running and hugged his grandfather and then hugging me. "I didn't know if you'd want me to stay or not, I don't want to get in the way of ummm you know" he eyed me. I knew what he meant, and I had no claim to Catherine, and he obviously did not realize which made it all that funnier. "Ha-ha I'm sorry excuse my outburst of laughter with that one. As for getting in the way of whatever you think is happening between Cate and I trust me it's not what you think" I whispered the last part in his ear so only the two of us could hear.
The boat was finally clear of my parents’ friends, leaving just my parents and my 4 friends along with the crew that was getting ready to just hang out and relax. I turned to my father with puppy dog eyes and asked, "I know the yacht is ours but how long will it actually be here for and where will it be docked when we are not here?" My father cupped both of my cheeks and smiled at me "Well my darlin' the yacht and the crew is with us for the whole summer, as for where it will be docked. Well, we are going to dock it on the other side of the island in the deeper water where I'm having a dock put in. I already know what you are going to ask and yes if you all would like to stay here on the yacht tonight that's fine. Just please be good and don't get in the way of the crew" he begged before kissing me and heading down the steps to the little motorboat.
My mother said her goodbyes and headed down after kissing my cheek and hugging me tight. As though she had never hugged me before or was not going to be seeing me the following day. "Goodnight mother, sleep well and happy birthday again" I whispered in her ear before she let me go. I watched them take off and head towards our dock before turning back to my friends who were all lounging on the furniture and talking with the crewmen/woman. I took a minute to just take it all in. Along with the day and evening and all that had taken place the highs and lows which I never took for granted knowing it would make me a stronger woman. "Well, we have the yacht to ourselves for the evening, but my father said not to bother the crew ha-ha but looks like it's too late to even mention. Especially with you all just hanging out together already” I informed them.
Haley was snuggling with the chef that told me they must have been either really good friends or fuck buddies and I was not about to ask. Sharene must have disappeared after the guests left since I had not seen her since then. I was worried it might have been because of me and took a seat in the lounger that had a little shade cover over it. I relaxed into the jumbo sized, pillows feeling the stress of the day slowly fall away and taking in some much-needed air. After letting out such a big sigh and yawn at the same time that everyone laughed and in turn made me laugh. "I know right..... such a long day.... not sure how long I'll end up lasting with everyone, but you're welcome to sleep in whatever rooms are not occupied. On another note, how was everyone's day/evening, what did you like and what didn't you like? Oh yes and my parents informed me we have the yacht and the crew for the whole summer. That tells me we'll definitely be having some fun" I winked towards my friends.
Nicholas and Jose started rambling about what they wanted to do and wasn’t a whole lot and some of it did not even include the yacht and all the fun things we could do on the water. I was not sure what was on Catherine's mind since she was pretty much not giving me any clear sign that she was angry with me. She seemed to be enjoying Asher's company and it made me happy to see them all happy. I was having a good time listening to the stories that the crew had been telling us about other guests they had worked for. "Damn that shit is straight up nuts if you ask me, hope we were better than all of them. Maybe not since my father told me not to bother any of you the rest of the evening" I admitted with a laugh as I slowly got up and stretched. I was ready to have a little fun and headed towards the back of the boat where there was a little drop on the lowest deck. "I'll see ya'll later I'm going for a midnight swim.... anyone who wants to join is welcome to do so...ha-ha clothes are optional...." I said as I started to slowly strip tossing my shorts and shirt in the lounger leaving my thong and sports bra on. The Capt. had already headed to his cabin for the evening, so I was not too worried about him or anyone else for that matter. I was such a free and a very open person when it came to my body. I knew I left people shocked mostly the crew and Asher as they had yet to see me in that state of mind and I wanted to stay that way for as long as possible. I really wanted to go searching for Sharene who had yet to make an appearance after everyone had left. I just did not want to freak her out more than I already had feeling like an ass already. I made it to the back of the boat and a second later little twinkling lights flickered to life around the edges lighting some of the darkness. "You sure you trust these water's this late at night?" Nicholas asked from behind me in a tone of unsureness. I turned around and gave him a smile before diving off the back and straight into the dark water knowing my island and where to swim and not to swim at night. I swam close to the boat while I was still under water knowing people would be watching and came up where they could not see me. "OMG WHERE THE HELL DID SHE GO!" I heard Catherine screech out.
