Chapter 95:
2 days had passed so quickly with me still hoarse, but slowly getting my voice back and still had to use other ways to communicate. We had all taken the last day to spend together and that's exactly what my friends and I did as we sun, bathed on the yacht. Along with swimming in the ocean doing things we had planned on doing for the whole summer but only got a month together. Jose and Nicholas left by 5pm to go back home to pack up for training and Catherine had gone with them. They left me wondering if it would be the last summer or vacation we spent together. I made sure to text them all a private message to their cell phones making sure they got it as they flew away not wanting them to get it to, soon. We hugged for what seemed like forever and even cried even though I tried to stay calm knowing I could not afford a relapse with my voice or worse. My parents had given us our time without hovering over all of us which made things much better for me. Especially when it came to my mother always getting way to emotional and knew that this time would be worse than ever with us all going off into the world.
The Capt. and the crew left a little after 6:30pm with my father giving them a nice little bonus and them all thanking us for being so cool, but also being so entertaining. "We will never forget this trip ever and thank you for this we all can agree that this was probably our best charter and longest even though it's being cut short. My crew and I are at your disposal at any time just contact me directly and I'll make it happen. Mia you will get there, and I look forward to even helping more in the future if you want it. Have a great time in Europe and take your time you still have a good month and a couple weeks to decide what's right for you. You are a very special young woman and don't you forget that!" Capt. Vic said before waiving, goodbye and hoping on the jet. Haley was next up as she hugged me "Sharene told me to give you a hug and that you better not send her necklace back to her or else... she will be in contact soon trust me. I'll be seeing her in a couple of days so is there anything you want me to tell her... or maybe just a kiss" she laughed softly.
There was nothing I could do but shake my head with a smile and could tell I was blushing but not sure why. Or how I could let Sharene get so close without even realizing it or protecting myself from it. I typed out a message on my cell and showed it to Haley "Just give her a hug and tell her "Until I see her again" she'll know what it means”. Brian was the last one since the other crew members just waved goodbye before getting on the jet. "Girl you are so amazing, and you better keep in touch.... I'm going to miss you the most, had a great time cooking with you and you loving my food. As you know I'm a perfectionist and you still ate my crap that I made even when I thought it was shit! Well before I cry like a baby, I've gotta go" he hugged me tight and ran up the steps of the jet.
Christian, Joellen, and Asher had been our last guests wanting to see us and be with us up until the last moment. My parents enjoyed their company along with Asher who talked about all his ideas and even taking mine into consideration. "Well I can tell you one thing is for sure you won't have a problem in whatever career path you choose.. you are smart, funny, beautiful all that and I'm sure you'll find the right college for you. Whichever one you choose they'll be lucky to have someone like you going to their school!" Asher was complementing me left and right even though we had not really spent any time together or even alone for him to know who I really was. I was polite and smiled and responding on the notebook paper. "I appreciate your kind words, and I hope you and my friends had fun and got to know each other. Thank you for being there for them to run to when I was the last person they wanted to see or be around. I hope you think about going to college yourself if not for yourself, but for your future and get a little business classes under your belt. You can always do them online so remember that part."
Greta had packed us up a great big meal to take on the plane with us and always made enough for whoever might be flying us. "Hope to.... see you all soon.. don't forget us when you go off into that big old world and make a name for yourself. Always remember you have a place to run to when you feel like you can't take much more... you have a great little piece of heaven right here that is waiting" she said as she hugs me then my mother and father. I knew I'd miss her the most since she had been like a mother to me too. She just had that motherly touch that made things better. My parents let me watch the last sunset from my favorite spot while they had a few drinks with Asher's grandparents along with Greta, Ronnie, and Jake. Asher had joined me and didn't say much just sat there keeping me company until the last minute. "I would have liked to get more time with you. That’s ok though I believe that things happen for a reason and I'm looking forward to seeing where this thing with Cat goes. I guess I have you to thank for all my good fortune lately and I'll be forever in your debt for sure. Now if you ever need anything you know where to find me" he said as we head towards the water where everyone was waiting. We all hugged again for about the millionth time and finally watched from the shoreline as the Beckerman's road away in their boat.
We walked Greta and Ronnie back to the house where we said our goodbyes for the last time knowing it would be hard on all of us to do it at the runway. We were finally on the runway and in the air all by 8:30pm with my grandparents huddled in close. Along with my parents as us young adults sat in our own little cocoons ready for Europe and full of excitement. The security team along with Sebastian flew ahead of us to arrange all of our things and be ready for when we arrived. It had even made me more relaxed that I didn't have anyone hovering over me except my parents who were as cool as cucumbers for the time being. For most of the trip I was mapping out exactly what I wanted to do from the moment I got there from the moment I left. I was getting more excited that at every turn I was amazed by what Oxford had to offer from all the other colleges. I had started my pros and cons list which were more pros then, cons. The only real issue I had was having a security team that would be with me at all times reporting back to my father.
Along with being away for a long period of time especially when it came to my mother and her wellbeing. "This is your life and what you have to do for you not anyone else, your mother is a strong woman and a fighter.. plus the way it looks is that your parents are going to be back together before you know it since they have a lot that'll be changing for them soon" my grandmothers both said to me as I was in deep thought. Thinking about what would happen if I did choose to live in England. I was caught off guard by it all but just went with what they said and put everything else aside for the time being. Only while I finished the lists and from the point that I was at until I took the tours and asked my questions. I was about to shut down for the rest of the trip until I got an email txt alert now that I had powered down my cell phone for the flight and didn't want to be bothered during the flight. Opening the message box, I found that there were a few messages, and they were from my friends letting me know they missed me and had made it home. Catherine had left a quick one just asking me to call when I got settled so we could talk in private. "Don't blow me off either because it's important!" I figured it was to tell me about her and Asher even though he already told me. I was sure he might have even told her that he told me, and she was now upset.
Nicholas and Jose had sent photos of them packing up for their training and showing the letters from the military. They were so proud that they would get what they deserved out of life in whatever they set their minds to. Sebastian had left one saying he liked the digs my father had scouted for me to look at and even said he would love to live in Europe again. That he would actually get to enjoy it unlike the last time he was there. "Can't wait for you to see it" he said in the last and final message he sent. Just when I thought I was finished with all messages until a couple more came through from an unknown and from two that I knew. They were from Haley and Brian doing a little video showing me their digs since they just lived down the block from one another. "Well hope to do another of these in a couple of days and then we'll show you are next job" Haley said before ending the video and blowing me a kiss. I left the unknown for last as I knew it would be Sharene and wanted to take my time reading it. I got a surprise when it wasn't just a text but a little video as well. "Hi Beautiful just wanted to show you around a little since my girl Haley just called and said her and Brian were showing you their pads and I felt left out. I'm super private so lets’ hope this doesn't get out anywhere else so no forwarding it to anyone or posting it anywhere!"
