Chapter 83

4 days had gone by, and Catherine, Jose, and Nicholas had yet to come back from IveyRose island and refused to talk to me. Even when they called the house to let my parents know that everything was ok. My text to them went unanswered but at least I was letting them know that I understood why they were so angry with me and hoped that one day they would forgive me. I found things to do which most of them had to do with seeing what my father was up to since he had been busy at work. Having to do with the construction of the dock on the other side of the Island where the yacht would be docked when we weren’t there. “So how much longer is it going to take for the dock to be finished, and do you need any help with anything maybe calling people or taking a trip over there?” I asked hoping he’d give me something to do. “Hmm well actually I was just trying to figure out the best time to go over there because it’s been finished since yesterday. I thought I’d ask you if you want to take the yacht out and try the training again? The crew is off doing their own thing with their kids or with your friends at IveyRose” he said as he stood from behind his desk.
The time was perfect with no distractions, but I was a little nervous since I had basically had a meltdown the last time and was not sure if another go at it was the right idea. “Come on sis…. you got this trust me you’re going to get it this time and knock it out of the park” Ethan said encouragingly. Capt. Vic was calm and collected while I was having a tiny panic attack, but it helped that my father left to keep my mother company on the upper deck and gave me my private time with Victor. “Ok so now that he’s gone just relax and let’s do all the preliminary safety checks and everything else before we get this baby moving. There is not really that much difference from this to your baby there except that is a speed boat and much smaller than this big baby. Just have to give her space in the water and make sure that you’re not too close to the shallow parts. We will take one step at a time I promise and it’s just the 4 of us here so we have nothing but time to do just that” Victor said in such a soft tone that made me relax again.
3 hours later we were on the other side of the island and making sure that the dock was perfect for the Yacht and the electronics to get it out of the water and moved. Only if work needed to be done on her or moved for whatever other reasons. I was so proud of myself as I had Captained my very first yacht which was a lot harder than I thought it would be. “Wow well now that, this is over I’m done for sure I am not doing this again. I loved the experience, but you can bet that I’ll never be becoming a Capt.” I said making Victor and my parents laugh. Victor inspected the dock and the electronics that were put in and was able to give it an A+ for being well designed. “And the electronics are probably the best I’ve ever seen. I have seen billionaires spend thousands on the very best and still had flaws, but wow I give your company props” he said as he high fived my father. My father loved feeling like the man since he pretty much was in the other areas of his life so why would he not at this and finding the right people. “Well, I appreciate that since the company is pretty new well the crew is new the company name just changed after my brother bought out his partner” he said.
The thought that my uncle now ran and operated his own company felt awesome. I knew he had wanted that from the beginning but did not have the money or capital to do it. Of course, my grandparents could have helped if they wanted to, but when it came to their children and the paths they took. They made sure to give them support in the area of going to school after that it was up to them to figure things out. My aunt and uncle had exactly what they wanted as did my father and they all exceeded their parent’s expectations by 150%. “Well wow that’s awesome that uncle did this and I’m just confused on why he didn’t come by…..” “Who’s to say he’s left yet” a voice behind me yelled out. I turned and found my uncle Bruce coming towards us. I ran full force towards him since I had not seen him in almost a year and a half. Bruce had been so busy that he was in and out wrapping up other jobs and checking on his crews that he managed now alone. “I’m sorry it’s just been a crazy couple of months and well shit 2 years I should say. I’m so happy to see my favorite niece…” “haha I’m your only one stupid… unless there is something that everyone is keeping from me” I said as I slapped his chest.
My aunt Savannah was only 25 but was one of the best agents for the stars and had a client list that stretched for miles. She was also an opera singer and knew how to play every instrument known to man. “No Savannah isn’t pregnant… shit grams and gramps would kill her if she got pregnant and wasn’t married first. Plus, she’s their baby and still can’t be away from her longer than a week without losing their minds” Bruce said as he sat me back down on my feet. I was waiting for him to ask me questions about the things I had told my parents and the news that I had been pregnant since him and my father were best friends. Even though they were 9 years apart. I could not help but laugh picturing my grandparents following my aunt around and getting on her nerves like they did so often when they were around my father and uncle. “Well, she is the only girl so I know how that can be just as bad as when you are the only child too” I laughed as I chased him around.
