Chapter 147
20 minutes later I was calm and collected by the time we arrived at the house and powered up my phone again. Only to enter the code to the gate when I refused to give it to the driver. "Ha not so fast I've done updates to this place too and have re-done all the codes that only a handful of people will know" I said not wanting my father’s team to have any of it. He groaned and I knew he had failed on a task my father wanted him to do. I smiled big showing all my pearly whites and feeling that I had overcome something big. That was not as big as I was making it out to be in my head. The driver took out our bags and handed them over to Giovanni and Catherine when I refused him access into the house. After I had checked everything out already and knew that things were safe and pointed to Giovanni. Who was big enough to handle it if it was not. "So, you can tell my father that I appreciate the SUV... also I'm sure he'll be calling you shortly. Please tell him to bill me for your service" I said heading inside to join Catherine and Giovanni. The moment I entered the house Giovanni handed me my house phone. "Your father called my cell and asked that I call him on your land line and ya he's not all that happy" he said before walking away.
Giovanni was right my father Ethan was angry, but I was done being lied to about everything. "You think throwing demands around is going to scare me enough to drop my guard and just tell you everything. Yes, I don't need you to tell me what you want since I'm all too aware of what you want. I plan on giving you what you ask for. If you want it in a week that's fine, but I was hoping we could do it when your mother and I head to London with you for a couple weeks. Just to help you settle in and before she is unable to fly back and forth. I'm thinking that would be a lot better and less stress on us all. Please give me that and I promise you will get everything you ask for" he said and finally relaxed his breathing. "Fine, I'm going to agree with you on that since I've got enough on my plate come Sunday and until I leave for school. Now if you could point me in the right direction to a good car lot to purchase....." "No, No, car lot I have a few things coming to you in about an hour so make sure you let them in. I will make sure it comes out of your money. I'm glad you offered Catherine to stay in the house while she's attending Stanford. Make sure she picks something for herself, and I'll pay for it, she's like my daughter. I will do it so don't try and fight me about it... I love you baby girl. I hope we can have Dinner this evening before I head home. I have one more client to see before than so text me all the details and I'll meet you all there" he said and hung up. I put my phone back on its, cradle and went through the house slowly as all the memories came flooding back from my 24-hours I spent with Sharene.
The first day of our weekend had already been probably the best day of my life and I had really opened myself up to the other side and was still wide open for them. Even though I'd pushed them away and tried, my damnedest to close them out just for a few days. I finally made it to my room and found my things already in it along with my new bed that had been just what I had asked for as my other one was put into the other room that was being set up as another guest room instead of a room that once had trophy's in it. I had waited to change the locks until after I arrived and 20 mins later the handyman was there with everything that was shipped the same day we arrived. I had the newest and coolest things to go in and could not wait. Catherine and Giovanni watched as I scanned my hand as the main administrator to the house. Then had them who would be on as secondary back up in case, I could not be there to do something. "Now what about actual keys? I only want our 3 hand-prints in the system for now and whoever else moves in needs to just have a key" I asked the programmer. "Well, the keys are pretty cool to and can be changed any time with a special thread on them. Say you leave them somewhere or lose them or someone moves out and they don't give the key back you don't have to worry. Also they can't be duplicated since each one is special. There is that safety too, I really appreciate the business too....(ha-ha) and the investments" he said. I had found him all thanks to the tech world friends and keeping me in on the cool new things out there.
By noon, my father's cars arrived in the driveway just as the tech guy came and showed us all how to do what we needed to do. I could not believe how many vehicles could actually fit in the driveway. 2 SUV's, 3 sports cars, 4 trucks, and 5 bikes took up a good portion and I was like a kid in a candy store. I wanted to test drive every last one of them and did just that. Giovanni raced alongside me on the Can-AM Spider, while I was on the crotch-rocket that looked like something from another planet. We were back in 10 mins with us both loving the bikes and I decided to take them both. Only leaving the 2 dirt bikes but took the 3-wheeler Harley since it was a luxury and softer smoother ride. Next were the sports cars that all 3 of us got into and drove racing one another on the express way until the next exit and racing back to the house. I loved all 3 and almost took them but knew that I only had 6 spaces for vehicles and had to make sure the bikes fit too. "Ok I'll take the Mercedes, and the Lambo, along with the Lincoln Navigator and the Chevy Sub. make sure I have all that I have on this list... Catherine now, pick what you want, and my father says your choice. Oh, ya and it's being billed to him so go nuts" I said giving her the biggest smile. I handed the list of things to be put into all the cars, SUV's and Catherine's Porsche she had chosen. "What about me? I want one.... not to worry I have my own money" Giovanni said even though I had a feeling he'd say he wanted one and that's why I left the last space for his vehicle. "Well go on which one....." I said waiting for him to answer after he had just blurted out that he wanted one.
Giovanni looked at me as though I were crazy. "Seriously, I mean I don't even live here and even though I could afford it what the hell will I do with it? I can't take it back to my place in S. Carolina..." "STOP.... it's going to stay here, and you can come out any time... why do you think I had your prints put in here... the kids are welcome to come too along with Aurora who would love it here too. So go on and pick one out and this is going on my tab since I'm the one who will get the discount. You can either pay me back or not since it's now company property.." I laughed when he picked me up and headed over to the big boy that just screamed GIOVANNI. Giovanni and Catherine were busy loving on their vehicles while I called my father and told him what I was expecting and needed all the vehicles done by Sunday before we left. "I also need a truck for the time being to have Giovanni drive while we are here.. and I don't need a team Giovanni will do quite nicely" I said when he groaned.
