Chapter 81
The dress was something I chose for me as I wanted it just for me to see first. Nicholas had decided to wear his Marine blues proud to be going off to fight for his country and the people he loved and wanted to keep safe. Jose had chosen to wear an all-white tux that had outline of dark blue to match his soon to be husband’s marine blues. The dress I had chosen matched perfectly with both suits and I even received a gift to borrow. It was a purple heart that Christian’s father had received while in the military. I had stayed locked in my room until Nicholas came to the door to find me, as I was the one to walk him down the aisle. While Catherine walked Jose down the aisle. “Hey hot mama I’m ready and since I agreed to be the one waiting at the alter for him to come to me…” I opened the door having a better idea that I shared with him. “How about Catherine and I still walk you both down the aisle and you can still be in front but you both walk down the aisle together?” I suggested.
Nicholas had run to tell Jose and Catherine about the idea which they both loved since 10 mins later we met them at the front door. We didn’t say anything to one another as we agreed there’d be time for us to hash out things later. Nicholas and I headed out the door first and 10 seconds later Catherine and Jose followed us keeping far enough back that we were not on top of one another. The ceremony didn’t take long as the men said their vows to one another, and my mother stood in front of them officiating over the whole thing. Only after getting herself quick online license. Catherine, Nicholas, Jose and I probably cried more than any other person there feeling the difference already as they said how they felt about one another. Promising to always be together and share every part of their lives together no matter how hard it might be.
We all knew that whether we wanted to admit it or not things were changing and could not stop it from happening even if we tried. Catherine had sat on the other side of the aisle from me wanting to be as far away from me as she could be, and I did not blame her one bit. Once the ceremony was over, we all hugged the grooms and congratulated them wishing them a happy and healthy life together that would last forever. Once the congratulatory was over I made sure to give them room making sure not to overstep. Or get in the way of the rest of their day that was spent with people who loved them just as much as I did. Catherine had stuck close to Asher the rest of the evening which I was happy about even though she was doing just to see if she could get a rise out of me. Sebastian had yet to be near me either and the guys were the same even though I didn’t hold it against them. Afterall, they had just gotten married and wanted to be together as much as possible until they couldn’t be. I stayed connected to both the here and now and the connection between my brother and the girls which made things easier on me.
My parents gave me my space ever since they learned the truth about everything and after I finally opened up to them and told them everything they wanted to know. I helped Greta clean up and started packing things up as it got dark, and the guests and grooms had moved to the Yacht. Where they would spend the rest of the evening. “Why don’t you get out there with them and have a good time… they might be mad at you, but I can promise you that they still want you there with them to finish celebrating their special day” Greta said as she stood with me as I faced the back yard and the yacht as it lit up in the dark and the music rang out over the quiet night. Greta was right I had to suck it up and just be there for not just the guys but for Catherine who was hurting now too.
Sebastian had followed me and driven us across the water to the yacht staying with me per my father’s instructions as usual. “The least you could do is talk to me damn it… not sure exactly why you are not talking to me unless need be. Have you now decided to be all professional like the beginning?” I asked wanting and hoping to get a reaction from him. The night had pretty much gone the same way as it had earlier once my best friends found out the one thing, I had kept from them and was pretty much being ignored expect by Nicholas. I went to bed before they did and got up before them as usual and back to working out. Trying to get back to me and focusing again on what I had to look forward to in the weeks and months to come. Sebastian had stayed professional and watched me do my tasks leaving me be to do what I wanted to do without being disturbed. I ate breakfast with my parents who seemed so different a little happier but still sad about the situation. “Hey… so looks like we’re slowly figuring this thing out, I’m back on track with things and my anxiety level has come way down. I’m thinking that since Cate plans on leaving when the boys do to go home not that she’s told me directly, but I overheard her talking to Nicholas and Jose about it, last night. Anyways I was thinking that we could take the rest of the summer to visit the schools that I still can’t decide on? I’m down to only 3 left that I can’t decide on” I said and saw them both smile telling me they’d be more than happy to do it.
