Maxine was a little more sympathetic since she was a mother herself and knew the hell kids went through when they were down and the parents who had to deal with them. "Brian is right though you are way too strong to let this get you down" she said before leaving the room.
Brendon was just as gentle as he approached, and I saw the looks of a father's love in his eyes and again more sympathy, and it was a little irritating but could not be rude. Matthew was just as funny as Brian since he was talking about how he loved the guys. "I'm starting to think going gay is the right way.... no woman drama and all that..." "ha well just because they are both men doesn't mean they don't have drama, but yes it's much different than a heterosexual relationship that is for sure" I said with a laugh when he stopped and turned red.
Capt. Amshirestone was the last one to come in out of the crew and I knew then that Sharene was not going to be stopping by. "Hey sweet heart..... I'm sorry.... I feel a little responsible for your exhaustion in that I was probably not the best teacher the other day. I promise though if you are willing to do it again it'll just be me and you. Minus the whole crew, I just forget how old you are sometimes. You're so smart and I just don't want you to give up on learning something new about boats" Victor said with such a sweet low tone that made me feel willing to think about it. "I'll let you know... I'm not saying no, but I’m not saying yes either as of yet" I said with a little giggle. My mother saved my best friends for last, and I knew it was what was the right thing since I knew they would be longer than anyone else. "Your father and I will be downstairs, and Jasmine say’s hello. She didn't want to bother you she says she could feel a whole lot of energy around you protecting you" my mother said as she raised a brow.
My father had already headed out with Victor leaving my mother to leave when she felt like it and trust me, she took her sweet time. She stood in the doorway asking us if we needed anything before, she left. "NOOO... now just relax yourself, it's almost 2 am and everyone needs sleep" I said giving her a serious look. Jose, and Nicholas hugged me lightly then laid sprawled out at the end of the bed together. Catherine of course snuggled up to my good side and ran her fingers through my hair making me feel good like she knew how to do. "We are worried about you for real...." "Ya you've like done a 180 since we shit since we graduated" the guys say one after another. I was just in the mood to explain anything to them at the moment. "Look yes I know I've changed and there's a reason behind all of it, I feel like I'm losing my mind even more being hurt at this moment. I love you 3 like mad and hope you don't think that changed all because you told my parents what happened between Max and me. I didn't think that this summer would go like this, but it is what it is I guess, and I just want to move forward. We are all going to be going through things and I'm still trying to get used to the idea of the both of you leaving for the military... that's what hurts the most... we are the 4 musketeers and I'm going to miss the connections that I have with each of you" I admitted as I slowly put my arm around Catherine who got even closer putting her leg over mine and within mins was fast asleep on my chest.
Jose and Nicholas just listened to me and watched Catherine as she settled down even more into relaxation. "Now to be honest that one there is the one who has been out of her mind for like 3 days, but as we all know she's good at hiding shit just as much as you are. You know how she feels about you yet you, just I don't know what's the word..." "You've started to keep us at a distance... we aren't stupid we know things are going to change and we don't know what the future will hold, but the one thing we know is that we'll always be friends no matter what" Jose and Nicholas were back and forth sharing how they felt and how I already knew how Catherine had felt.
By 3:30 am the boys were zonked out along with Catherine leaving me to my thoughts that could be dangerous at times especially now and was now wide awake again. I brushed my fingertips down Catherine's spine as I still held her in my arms, feeling her arch her back and groan telling me she liked it. I softly kissed the top of her head and whispered in her ear "You know I care about you and love you like mad but can't give you what you need or want right now. I just hope you'll forgive me for what I've done and have kept to myself." Catherine grunted as I moved her off me but rolled with her, so I was now spooning with her. Just as I got comfortable my parents door opened and in, they strolled whispering to one another. "I'm not sleeping, but you two should be and it looks like they are all in here tonight. I'm doing my best to get some more sleep I love you both and just give me time please and I promise we'll talk but time is what I need ok?" I whispered and they kissed me on my cheek.
