Book 2: In the Life of Mia: College Chapter 42
Madeline was startled when I flipped on the light and spoke out to her before actually reaching her “Hey baby girl…. Sorry mommy put you in the middle of a strange bed and room that you’ve never seen before… she’ll get what’s coming to her later I promise” I smile getting closer and picking her up. She cried a little bit until I changed her and rocked her back to sleep with a bottle that Lola had brought me. “Thanks Lola, so how are things going out there?” I ask in a whisper just in case. Lola just gave me a look of “Hope you are ready for an all-nighter” and I rolled my eyes not understanding what the hell I was going to do now that they were all there and had no idea when they’d be leaving. “Well than I’ll be out in just a min, and do we have a ummm what is she going to be sleeping in since I don’t have no damned crib here. Do we know how long they are staying for?” I was full of questions that I was sure I would soon or later have to ask my parents but still hoping she would know something. She just shook her head “NO” which told me she had no clue on the latter of things and I just finished the job at hand and once Madeline was just about through with her bottle I burped her and fed the rest to her. I was thankful she went back to sleep pretty much right away, and I left her back in the middle of the bed with pillows around her.
Sharene and Leona were talking up a storm and finding out they had more things in common “Well Mia you have a great girl here… I hope to be that lucky with love someday, considering in my line of work... I am dating people in the same area of work which can get crazy” she looked up smiling at me as I entered the room. “Hmm well have you tried the local hospitals and trolled for doctors when you are there, or even nurses who are just as busy as you” I totally could not help the laughing when everyone gasped in shock. Sharene slapped my chest when I got closer and she stood before I could sit “That was a little uncalled for, but ha you are probably right in that area for her… but I think she might have a little crush on you which I don’t blame her” she whispered in my ear. I sat and she came with me sitting in my lap making it clear for anyone who might be watching that I was taken and that she was the one who had the honor of it all. Leona got up and took her plate to the sink even though we all told her to leave it including her dessert plate, but she looked to need the distraction. My mother had been watching her with close inspection and I had a feeling she knew something just as I had when we had shaken hands the first time.
Leona left a little after 10:30 pm with everyone including myself seeing her out “Oh hey are you coming by my place in the morning for a work out, I don’t leave until usually about 7:30am and if you want if you come early enough I’ll get you set up with the system and you can come whenever you want even if I’m not there” she was very confident and sure about her words even though she had just met my family. I knew I had to decline the offer for the next day since my family would be there and I was not sure when they were leaving. “Well probably not tomorrow I’ll just get a run in since that’s probably all I’ll have time for, but maybe Friday I can stop by after my last class or at lunch time if you are avail to get away from work” I shrugged not sure what else and thank her for the offer and she smiled.
After a good 5 mins I ended up walking her all the way to the car when she looked at me as though she had something more to say and couldn’t say it in front of the rest of them. “I’m sorry for having you walk me all the way out here, but just wow… that girl is seriously in love with you and I see you love her too but is it…. look we have a lot in common in just well in different ways obviously in that we both come from a line of very powerful people. I can also tell she is completely clueless to exactly who you are and what you can do. I’m not saying you two should not be together, I’m just wondering if it’s possible, because I’ve found it completely impossible to even tell anyone what I do until you came along and I still don’t even know everything about you” she was so intense as she continued to go on and on. I knew I needed to find a way to get her to come back down to earth and a level I could maneuver “Hey….can you just relax and chill….yes I have a female and young girl in my life, but right now I’m just trying to figure things out since this is my first female relationship ever! I am also looking to find me again hints the reason I chose to come to school so far away from my normal and what my comfort level was at first. Now head on home Ms. Val… Leona and I’ll be in touch as the days progress. Drive safe and text or call me once you make it home safe or back to the office which ever you are going to” I slowly start to back away from her knowing that if I don’t things could go very wrong for me as I have the whole house now watching me.
Leona left after dropping shit on my already tense shoulders and she made since when it came to Sharene who I did love and was mad about it since I was falling for her more and more every day, but would she ever understand me the way Leona could if I let her it? “Don’t even go there…. It doesn’t mean that you two are meant to be together just because she knows what it’s like to be you. The truth is you both don’t know exactly what your powers are and how they might be alike whether they are or not. Sharene loves you more than you love her which is the truth, but that’s only because you keep her at a distance when it comes to this part of your life” Ethan was now scolding me. “Omg Ethan…. Not even what was on my mind leaving Sharene for Leona… just she is someone I don’t have to hide my life from and can possibly trust her on a whole other level” I thought more to myself then Ethan who was still yapping as I walked back up the driveway when Leona finally drove away. My mother was at the front door waiting for me and she looked reserved even though we both knew she knew there was something more to Leona. “Before you ask yes, she is the reason I’m partly happy you in-particularly are here since I have a lot of questions more than answers” she gave me the roll of the eyes as though I was getting into something I should not as I entered the house.
My parents went to bed shortly after I was settled in the house for the night and studying before I went to bed, even though Sharene had been watching me from the other end of the couch and distracting me with the little touches of her feet on my legs. “I’m sorry that I was so harsh about you all coming, I am really happy you are all here it’s just really bad timing and I have a lot happening right now including this whole thing with Vi’s case. I already know dad is going to be weaseling his way into finding out more when he goes into the station tomorrow and I’m not looking forward to that out come since I’ve already stoked the fire with my little outrage. I’m thinking maybe tomorrow while I’m in school you and mother go shopping for a crib for Maddie and have a girls day, also I hope mother is ok flying so late in her pregnancy would hate for anything to happen all because of me” I smile looking up at her and prayed I would not wake my parents since the house was not all that big like we were used to. Sharene did her best to give me my time to study, but the more she touched me using now her hands and slowly made her way up my body until she was moving my books and computer to the floor. “MMM this is what I need…. Your rock-hard body… which belongs to me….” she groaned kissing my lips and then moving to my chin.
