Chapter 98
Bruce and Savannah looked at me all crazy with a look of "well" on their faces. I turned the phone around and waved pointing to my throat to indicate I was still not able to talk too much except in a whisper. "There you are... ahh your voice still out? I just wanted to call and actually see your beautiful face instead of just by photo and memory" she said, and I watched as her face turned bright red. Savannah and Bruce had still been in the area and watching me and listening making little comments to one another. "Nah doubt that, but hey she's young" Savannah responded to whatever her brother had just said. "Give me a second Sharene I need to take this to my room. I have nosey aunt and uncle who are watching us right now" I whispered into the speaker. I grabbed my bowl of jello and headed to my room and grabbed my earpiece so that she would be able to hear me better. Also see me better after moving it to my bigger screen. I was again out of breath from running and being excited but also nervous as hell. "Ok give me one min to just transfer the call to my tablet and put in my earpiece" I whispered as loud as I could.
Sharene had been waiting a good 5 minutes as I took an extra min to get things ready as I stared at her on the phone's live video. I almost forgot she was actually on the line since I'd watched her video a 100000 times. "Ummm sorry was trying to get comfortable and calm my breathing before I got back on the line" I said as I sat on the bed and slowly ate my jello. Sharene was laughing so hard I thought she might pass out and of course was clueless to what she was laughing at. I figured it had something to do with the whole thing that had taken place earlier. "S-O-R-R-Y... I'm just so happy to actually see you on my screen right now... I—I I'm just at a loss for words now all of a sudden" she said being honest which made me smile. "If it makes you feel better...... I'm super nervous and not sure what to really say either. I mean we've been texting our words for like what 3 days now... this is all new for me all the way around. I'm so confused about a lot of things right now and I'm just trying to take one step at a time" I confessed in a whisper into the speaker of my earpiece.
Sharene had been on the yacht with another group of people along with her crew and Haley and Brian had let her sneak off to talk to me as it had only been about 1pm where she was. "I should probably get back to work, I promised it would be a quick call... I just wanted to get to talk to you, see you before you went to bed. I know the time difference is like 8 hours or more. I hope we can do this more often and get past this weirdness because I really umm..... I'd like to see what might be... ya anyways they are yelling for me. I really need to go sweetness" she said blowing me a kiss and hanging up. I was in such shock and confused that I didn't even get a chance to react or even say goodbye before she hung up the line nor did she wait. I typed a quick message to her before she could get back to work. "Hey.... that's not fair you got to do all the talking while I had to just listen and only get a few whispers in.... but you probably planned it that way for some reason... and it's not exactly weirdness it's confusion on my part!" I stared at the phone for a couple of minutes hoping that she would respond but there was nothing there. I hopped in a hot bath a little after 10pm needing relaxation to happen before I went out with my parents the next day. I was hoping to clear my mind in case they decided they wanted to talk about my little brother who would be coming in about 8 months.
After getting into bed a little after 10:45pm I was still a little unsettled and still had not seen much of Sebastian after we had arrived. Just little messages from time to time reminding me that he was around and thinking about me. I set my alarm on my cell hating any other alarm clock and set it for 5:00am so that I could do my usual routine of running and working out that I had been doing since we arrived. My body had been taking a toll with the time change and still adjusting as Sunday evening arrived and going to bed made it that more difficult with my mind being focused on Sharene. I was sleeping a good 45 mins when I was sucked into a weird dream or so I thought as I was on a yacht and saw people I did not even know. "I just don't know what she'll say... I mean I left without saying goodbye to her... I mean am I wrong? Mia is just different, and I don't know there is something about her that makes me very... I can't put my finger on it just does something to me" I could hear Sharene's voice in the distance and walked towards the sound. "MIA..... wait....." I heard Ethan's voice from behind me but just kept walking trying to get to where the sound was coming from.
Sharene, Brian, and Haley were in the kitchen getting drinks and talking about me, but it had seemed so weird. "What is happening right now? Why am I here?" I asked as I was dizzy and could not grasp onto what was happening. Ethan came up behind me and held me up when I thought I would pass out from the dizziness. "I told you that this wasn't going to be good and yet here you are this is why... you already know some things, but our grandmother's have been very vague. I don't even know exactly what it is that you can do since we're all learning as you are able to do things like this what you are doing now!" he whispers calmly. I could not believe it I could basically put myself into a dream stream as what my grandmother had called it and would be able to pick up on things. "I didn't do anything though I went to sleep and was thinking about my conversation with Sharene on the phone. Then I heard my name and was here" I whispered still trying to comprehend that I was with them but could not be seen. I had stood straighter with more strength and stepped a little ways away from Ethan wanting to see what it was that I could actually do in this state of mind or whatever it was that I was in.
Ethan tried to get me to stop but could tell part of him wanted to see what it was I could do too so that we would all know once and for all. I stepped closer and closer to Sharene wanting to just touch her face and as I got close enough, I reached out and softly ran my fingertips up her chin to her cheek. I could not exactly feel it but it was like electric current streaming out. I stepped back in shock as she jumped a little but was not sure if it were because of me or something else. The look on her face was as though she felt it and was not sure what it was herself. "Damn Shar what is with you.... you ok seem a little jumpy now" Haley said with a laugh teasing her. "Maybe Mia is thinking about you too, I mean they say if you and the other person are thinking about one another you can almost feel one another" Brian said and we both just seemed to be in our own little worlds. Sharene had excused herself taking the drinks to the top deck where the guests were waiting on their cocktails. She did not want to get into trouble for not being quick with their drinks and pastries.
Being curious still I followed her as she went to them wanting to make sure things were good for her on the trip feeling the need to protect her for some reason. I was watching her at a distance as she went about her job duties and kept busy, but somehow was able to read her most inner thoughts. "I wonder if she's thinking about me, how's my little girl, would she like kids... I mean it's gotta be hard... damn it I gave her that damned necklace not even thinking about it, but how is someone supposed to know.. she keeps herself so guarded is that what attracted me to her in the first place" Sharene was rambling to herself in her own head which made me feel a little crazy for a minute. "Ok enough is enough... you have a big day and this isn't going to help things" Ethan said as he used all this strength and pulled me back and I went peacefully not wanting to put up any more fights. The alarm blared in my ear as I had my cell phone on my pillow next to me and shot straight up with my heart racing. I actually felt well rested even though I had felt like I was on a huge high of what had taken place. I was in my work out clothes in mins and was out the front door by 5:15am running through the private park that came with the house my father had rented. I knew of course I would not be alone especially when there were people running themselves. Along with my father's team and with Sebastian, I was sure.
