Chapter 47
Here My father touched my wrist lightly as I picked at my food not really wanting it at the moment. “Hey…. what’s happening? I know you hate having to sit here and be social especially in the morning. I promise once everyone is about done you can head off with Jake who will be back shortly to go with to get you supplies. I know you’re disappointed about not being able to do much for the next 10 days, but you have the whole summer it has just started. I just want you to take these next 10 days and really relax before you get back out there and thank you for dressing in this attire today” he thanked me before going back to his food. I caught my mother’s eye as she had been watching me and I winked at her not wanting her to start worrying about anything and went back to eating a little more.
After eating half of my scrambled eggs, 3rd of my hash browns and some fruit I had finally had enough and put my fork on the plate and pushed it away. I placed my hands in my lap and joined the conversation. “Just wanted to add a little thank you of my own to all of you not just the crew and Capt. but my friends and family for giving me everything I need and being here for me. I know we are going to have a fantastic summer and this injury won’t be keeping me down long and will be right back out there even harder than I have been. I look forward to having a great summer vacation with my boys and love bug Catie. This will be the tipping point for us 4 since the next step is college and life in general. So, lets’ not, hold back and go balls to the wall in whatever we want this summer, fall in love, or don’t, ha-ha ummm just be free because one day that might change, and I want you to have the memory of this time forever etched in your mind.”
Both of my parents looked at me lovingly and gave me the look of “Nice job, great speech” I smiled at them just wanting them to know I meant every word. Sharene finished her food next and scooted closer up and a little over at the same time. Putting her a little closer to me which no one was the wiser to even catch except me. I leaned back a little to see what she would do, and she was going for it as she placed her hand in mine that was open and waiting. We took our time feeling one another’s fingers and the softness as we caressed one another, and it was feeling so good making me close my eyes to just really take it all in just for a moment. I knew it would not last long especially since I had my friends sitting on the opposite side with Jose and his big mouth. “Hey…you sleepy head not much sleep last night or what? Maybe a nap is in order for you…..” “Jose shut up…. no, I don’t need a nap just thinking and wish I could be on both my feet instead of just one, but not happening now” I snapped back in a tone that had me apologizing immediately. I knew that sleep might help my mood but was not about to lose the moment I was having with Sharene who was actually there, and it was not a dream.
My father reached inside his pants pocket and pulled out his buzzing phone looking at it before answering. “Hey Doc, come on over my princess is about ready and is getting irritable. The door is open so come on in through the front and meet everyone so that you can all be familiar with each other.” 10 minutes later or so Jake was making his rounds around the table and meeting everyone who he had yet to meet. Including the crew and Capt. since he’d be at their services as well. Once that was finally over which took a good ½ hour he was at my side holding out his hand “Shall we go? And who is all coming if I dare ask you that since you are looking like you’re about to bite…” he laughed. I smiled as I took his hand and stood on my good foot and a second later in walked Sebastian who came to my side and picked me up. “Ha well I guess Sebastian will be accompanying us. As for the rest I don’t know who else since Asher is off for the next couple of days per his grandparents so not sure what he wants. Then we have my old friends and new friends here who are welcome to come we’d just have to take the bigger boat to take us there or take two” I suggested softly. My father stood and looked at Sebastian and in return Sebastian gave him a look which was something I was trying my best not to pay attention to. When it was not my business per my mother. My mother loved shopping and was surprised when she left the table with my father, Capt. Amshireston, Maxine, and Brendon who were my parents ages and didn’t feel like tagging along with us youngsters. “I guess that sums it up then, so if you all want to come it’s up to you and maybe Asher could take us all on the tour of the town. Though I’ve already been on it many times and I have money to burn. I’m not the best on crutches so I won’t be doing much shopping” I admitted as Sebastian led the way for whoever was actually coming. Sebastian was pretty far out in front of everyone and held me close rubbing my body the best he could. He looked at me when he could, trying not to make it look so obvious as he smiled at me. “So, this has been great and last night….. this morning…. Fuck…. You are an addiction for real and now I get why Catherine gets so uptight. I mean that poor guy Asher is only convenient for her since he likes you and she likes you.. ha-ha and you just want to have fun and not be attached or be anyone’s property which you were not born to be, just to let you know. I just want you to know the last 24 hours of you and I will always be with me even if we never get the chance to do it again” he said in a tone that nagged at me a little thinking that the conversation him and my father must have had was my father putting him in his place.
After getting settled on the boat I turned slightly facing Sebastian “I guess that conversation with my father was him telling you what your job was. That he could have you gone in a blink of an eye whether I wanted you or didn’t want you here. Ugh men…. Irritating as ever and I know my father is just being a father, but this is not fare…. Lets’ just not worry about it right now ok, because I’m not sure I could handle it right now if I had to actually picture you not here when I wake up tomorrow!” I finished just in time as everyone was closing in quickly. We took the coach boat that fit all 11 of us perfectly with me in the driver’s seat and Sebastian right next to me being possessive of course. He would not even, letting Jasmine close enough for me to hear if she said anything. I was busy driving and focusing on the task at hand ignoring everyone around me but thinking about everything that had been happening since the night before and all the sex I had, had in less than 24 hours.
The thought of it brought a smile to my face and looking at Sharene who had slipped a glance in my direction just at the right time. Sharene surprised me though when she stuck her tongue out at me and winked reminding me of that beautiful smile and perfect white teeth. My heart sank just thinking of the possibilities of her and I together and hanging out as much as possible for the summer. Whether I got addicted to her or not she was worth it for now. “MIA…… I know you are feeling all types of horny, and you should play the field but really… she is a heart breaker trust me…. or well no don’t because I have no idea what I am talking about in that field. I can just tell from the little bio that the crew gave of her last night. You are the only one who isn’t reading between the lines and taking their, not so settle warning” there Ethan was again warning me and maybe he was right, but this was my time, and I was going to take it. “Ethan I just don’t understand why you won’t just let me do what I want….what could possibly happen if I just give in a little for once and fall a little…” I asked.
Ethan sighed “Ugh…. Fine you want to know… I don’t want to lose this… this connection and chance it because you end up with a broken heart and we lose this again… like we did when we were little, and I died. We were still together until you lost faith in us… then mother got worse and every time you talked about me and telling her you could still hear me and then after she scolded you along with a good ass whooping you kept me buried deep down and locked away the key” seconds later he was gone, and I felt alone with tears streaming down my face. Jasmine saw that I was now red in the face with tears streaming down my face but had a feeling she knew that Ethan was here and that’s why she had taken notice so quickly. I was starting to feel like the biggest asshole listening to my brother basically pour his heart out to me, I had basically abandoned him like my parents had after he died. I was not about to let that ever happen again and knew that he was right about some things, but not this. Whether it fucked me up or not I wasn’t going to regret a thing never had and never would.
