Chapter 145 Unwilling to Save People
"Are you really that impressive?" Skyview laughed, opened his phone, and dialed 911. "Police? Someone here is about to be killed; please send help quickly!"
As a responsible citizen, it was important not to panic when faced with a situation, but instead remember to contact the police for assistance.
"You called the police?" Kai frowned at Skyview.
"Is that not allowed?" Skyview shrugged.
"Do whatever you want!" Kai thought about the commotion he had caused and figured that by now, some bystanders had probably already called the police. Skyview believed that calling the police wouldn't significantly impact the situation, so he remained indifferent.
Kai continued to rub Oliver's face with the sole of his shoe, causing Oliver to let out a series of wails.
"Skyview, are you out of your mind? What good is just calling the police?" Oliver said. "Think of another way!"
Skyview said calmly, "I thought the police could intimidate this guy, but he seems both crazy and rational. He is ready to face all the consequences, therefore he harbors no fear of the police.Not even the army would scare him!"
"Exactly!" Kai sneered. "Oliver, I can torture you for a good ten minutes before the police arrive! Then I'll kill you!"
As Kai spoke, he released his foot and lifted Oliver up.
Kai threw a left hook.
"Help me," Oliver, nearly knocked out, cried as tears streamed down his face.
"Oliver, if you hadn't messed around with other women, you wouldn't be in this situation," Skyview sighed. "Now, there's only one way left!" Skyview's expression looked very sympathetic towards Oliver.
In actuality, Skyview felt no remorse for Oliver whatsoever.
Although Skyview wouldn't let Oliver die, he did want Oliver to be punished. He believed that after being punished, Oliver would be more restrained in his behavior with women, which would be beneficial for improving social morals.
Even though Skyview was also a super-rich second generation, he didn't agree with some of the behaviors of people like Oliver. Coming from a humble background, he knew how harmful the extravagant and indulgent lifestyles of the wealthy could be.
Skyview was in a real dilemma now. He benefited from the materialistic trend in this society, yet he also loathed it to the core. After all, he was hurt by materialistic women, too.
Although Skyview considered the possibility that Oliver may have inadvertently found himself in trouble while engaging in reckless behavior rather than intentionally cheating, he couldn't muster any sympathy for Oliver. The memories of how Alice and others had mocked him for his poverty prevented any feelings of compassion from emerging.
Therefore, Skyview decided to let Oliver be punished first to show him that having money did not mean you could do whatever you want. When faced with someone like Kai, even money couldn't help.
"What's your plan? Hurry up and use it!" Oliver shouted, "If this keeps up, I'll be beaten to death!"
Skyview said, "Only a true expert can save you now, and it just so happens that I have one right here!" Skyview looked at Suzanne and said, "Suzanne, it's time for you to step in!"
Kai immediately noticed Suzanne. She was just standing there, with a deficient presence, even though she was clearly very attractive.
Kai was surprised to realize that he hadn't noticed Suzanne's presence until now.
Now that Skyview was talking to Suzanne and asking for her help, Kai finally noticed her.
In an instant, Kai understood that Suzanne was a master killer!
Because such master killers always had an inexplicably low presence.
When they strike, it's often a fatal blow!
Unlike Kai, who was a different kind of expert, Kai's expression became serious.
Facing Suzanne, Kai realized that his chances of winning were very slim.
He also understood why Skyview was so calm; it was because Suzanne was there. Kai had previously thought Skyview was very composed and had a bit of respect for him!
"I'll save others," Suzanne said calmly, "but I won't save Oliver!"
Skyview was stunned. "Why?"
Suzanne said, "I've seen Oliver's show. He has no respect for women. People who treat women like playthings are better off dead!"
Skyview said, "But Oliver is still a human life!"
Suzanne replied calmly, "When I was on the battlefield, I saw people die every day and killed people every day. I'm numb to it. If he dies, he dies. It's no big deal. Everyone has to die eventually. Just because you're rich doesn't mean you won't die, right?"
Skyview felt very angry. He suddenly remembered that Suzanne was a soldier. For soldiers like Suzanne, death was a regular thing!
"What you say makes a lot of sense; I have no argument!" Skyview said, covering his face. "But you're my bodyguard, and I order you to save Oliver!"
Suzanne coldly replied, "My duty is to protect your safety. As for Oliver, he has nothing to do with me. You have no right to order me to protect Oliver because that's not in our contract!"
Skyview said, "So you're just going to let him die?"
Suzanne admitted openly, "Yes, I'm going to let him die."
Skyview, feeling deeply pained, said to Oliver, "Oliver, if you had respected women more, you wouldn't be in this situation! Suzanne won't help, and there's nothing I can do! Take care of yourself! I'll commemorate you on this day next year!"
"No! No! No!" Oliver, like a drowning man grasping at straws, pleaded with Suzanne. "I respect women! I swear! I was born of a woman too! Save me! If you save me, I swear I'll only date with the intention of marriage from now on, I won't do this anymore!"
"I'll give you money!" Oliver shouted. "A million dollars!"

As Oliver spoke, he spat blood.
Kai's punches had made him cough up blood.
