Chapter 265 Confess Obediently

"Are you taking the law into your own hands?" Eulalia managed to say, her tough exterior starting to crack. She knew this wasn't going to be easy, but the idea of being tortured? That was a whole different level of nightmare.

If she had to face justice, she'd rather do it the official way. At least then, she might have a shot. A good lawyer, a few strategic calls, and she could maybe wiggle out of this mess. But Suzanne? Suzanne had her own playbook.

"This isn't about taking the law into our own hands," Suzanne said, her voice calm and almost soothing. "It's about doing what needs to be done."

"This is insane!" Eulalia shouted, her voice full of anger. "It's a violation of human rights! A breach of international humanitarian principles!"

Suzanne sneered, "Humanitarian principles? Human rights? Don't mistake us for savages, dear. We believe in those things. For civilized people. You, however, are a terrorist. And in our world, terrorists are dealt with decisively."

"I won't break," Eulalia spat, holding her head high. "You can torture me all you want, but I'll never talk!"

"Such spirit," Suzanne purred, circling Eulalia like a predator. "Are you sure about that? Really, really sure?"

For a moment, Eulalia stood her ground, her gaze steady. But the icy fear creeping up her spine was impossible to ignore. Suzanne's reputation was well-known, whispered about in the darkest corners of the underworld.

"I... I..." Eulalia stammered, her defiance crumbling. "I'll talk! I'll tell you everything!"

No one in the room was surprised. Eulalia, for all her bravado, wasn't cut out to be a martyr. Besides, martyrs died for ideals, for causes bigger than themselves. Money wasn't exactly legendary material.

"A wise choice," Suzanne said, almost approvingly. "You won't regret it."

Eulalia swallowed, her throat dry. "I... I have one request."

"Go on," Suzanne said, raising an eyebrow.

"After I tell you what you want to know, hand me over to the authorities. Let the law decide my fate."

Suzanne turned to Skyview, a silent question in her eyes.

Skyview shrugged. "Why not? We're not monsters. We believe in due process." He looked down at Eulalia, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Don't worry, I doubt they'll give you the death penalty. You'll be fine. Just like in 'The Shawshank Redemption.' Prison can be quite cozy."

Eulalia managed a weak smile. "Thanks for the reassurance." She took a deep breath, bracing herself. "Ask away. I'll tell you everything."

Skyview nodded, slipping into a familiar routine. He'd watched enough cop shows to know the drill. "Alright then. Full name, gender, place of birth, occupation." He wasn't sure why, but those details always seemed important.

"My real name is Ecurita," Eulalia replied, her voice flat and emotionless. "Female. Born in South Afriga, Chanese heritage. As for occupation..." She chuckled without humor. "Freelancer, I guess. Mercenary, assassin, enforcer... whatever pays the bills."
