Chapter 220 Scolding

"You said Willow is your fiancée?" Skyview's eyes went wide with disbelief. "Kaelen, how can you be so shameless? You're unbelievable!"

Kaelen's face turned icy as he glared at Skyview. "My marriage to Willow was arranged by our families—The Darkmoon Family and The Link Family! This meeting is just a formality. If you don't want to piss me off, you'd better back off now." Kaelen's voice dropped, dripping with menace.

Skyview sneered, "Or what? What are you gonna do?"

Kaelen spat out each word, "I will ruin you!"

"That's hilarious!" Skyview clutched his stomach, laughing so hard he almost cried. "Kaelen, I've met a lot of fools in my life, but you take the cake!" Skyview said, giving Kaelen a thumbs-up.

"What?" Kaelen couldn't believe Skyview had the nerve to insult him. "You dare call me a fool?"

"I'm not making this up; it's just the truth. You are a fool!" Skyview laughed.

"Say that again!" Kaelen fumed.

Skyview shrugged. "I love granting weird requests—you're a fool! A big fool!"

"You're asking for it!" Kaelen suddenly lunged, his right hand forming a fist, aiming straight for Skyview's face with lightning speed. Kaelen wasn't someone to mess with; his strength was well-known in high society.Suzanne's eyes narrowed. "How dare you? Leave Skyview alone!" In a flash, Suzanne stepped in front of Skyview and threw a punch at Kaelen.

Their fists collided. Suzanne didn't budge. Kaelen staggered back, eyeing Suzanne with newfound caution. "Who are you? That strength... you're not just a bodyguard."

"I am what I say I am," Suzanne said calmly, her voice emotionless. "Skyview pays for my protection, and I deliver. Your skills are decent, but challenging me would be a huge mistake."

"That stance... you're military. You've seen combat, taken lives." Kaelen's eyes narrowed, sizing Suzanne up. "I may train in martial arts, but I'm no match for a seasoned soldier. I don't want to die today."

"Some things are better left unknown," Suzanne replied, her voice cold as steel.

Kaelen turned to Skyview, a calculating look in his eyes. "Name your price. I'll triple it. Join me, and you'll have more money than you can imagine. Following him leads nowhere."

"Your money means nothing to me," Suzanne stated, her gaze steady. "And I suggest you drop any ideas of harming Skyview. I only used thirty percent of my strength just now. Next time, I won't be so nice."

Kaelen's eyebrows shot up. "Thirty percent?" He let out a low whistle. "Impressive. Fine, I'll back off. But tell Skyview to watch his step. Some things can't be undone."

"Not my problem," Suzanne said, slipping back into her spot behind Skyview.

Kaelen turned to Skyview, his voice dripping with venom. "You're lucky to have such a capable bodyguard. Without her, your arrogance would've cost you big time today."

"You think throwing a tantrum like a spoiled brat is impressive?" Skyview scoffed. "Don't kid yourself. You're still a fool."

Kaelen straightened, his voice full of disdain. "People of refined taste, like myself, don't stoop to the level of common street rats."

"Refined taste?" Skyview raised an eyebrow. "You mean like sipping overpriced coffee?"

"Exactly. Unlike you, content with your greasy fast food," Kaelen sneered. "You reek of vulgarity."

"So, enjoying a simple meal makes someone vulgar?" Skyview challenged.

"Naturally," Kaelen declared, his voice oozing with self-importance. "I am elegance personified. You are just common. All you do is insult people. I won't stoop to your level."

"Insults imply lies," Skyview countered, his expression serious. "I speak only the truth. And if the truth hurts, maybe you're the vulgar one. I called you a fool for a reason. Willow, do you know why?" Skyview turned to Willow, looking for her gaze.

Willow shook her head, confused. "I don't."

"I'd heard tales of Kaelen of Skyscape City, noble, brilliant, almost mythical in his accomplishments. I wanted to believe them," Skyview admitted, his voice tinged with disappointment. "But to see such backward thinking, such a blatant disregard for individual freedom, you're nothing but a fool clinging to outdated traditions."

Kaelen's eyes blazed with anger. "How dare you call my beliefs foolish?"

"This isn't the past, Kaelen. We live in an era of progress, where love and marriage are personal choices, not dictated by old family agreements." Skyview's voice dripped with disdain. "You think the parents' agreement gives you ownership of Willow? That's not just foolish, it's downright barbaric."

Before Kaelen could sputter a response, Nicholas slammed his fist on the table, his face twisted with rage. "You're delusional! Marriage is about family legacy, not some whimsical notion of 'love'! Your so-called 'progress' is an insult to the very foundations of Golden Valley!"
