Chapter 212 Starlight Voyager
"Enough of this crap!" John barked, waving his hand at his men. "Get him outta here. And make sure he doesn't say another word to anyone. The impact is really terrible!"
Two big guys grabbed Yosef, who was struggling like crazy, slapped a hand over his mouth, and dragged him away.
Skyview clapped his hands, grinning wide. "Well done, John! Your decisiveness is impressive."
John forced a tight smile. "Such a huge mistake... Even if it were my own father, he'd face the consequences."
"Well said!" Skyview's eyes swept over the trembling security guards. "You're all fired. I thought about legal action, but I think Ms. Davis's lesson was punishment enough. John, any objections?"
John, his earlier bravado gone, just lowered his head. "None at all. Firing incompetent staff is your right as chairman."
"Excellent." Skyview turned to the pale-faced Ms. Reyes. "As for you, your collaboration with Yosef and blatant lies are absolutely disgraceful. You're fired."
"No! Please!" Ms. Reyes collapsed to the floor, her voice desperate. "I need this job! I can't lose it!" But her pleas fell on deaf ears. If Yosef, with his supposed loyalty and history with John, was considered expendable, she was even more certain to face punishment.
"Let this be a lesson, John," Skyview said firmly. "Choose your employees more carefully in the future."
"Yes, Mr. Scott. You have my word." John's voice was barely a whisper.
Skyview turned to Willow, a charming smile replacing his earlier stern look. "Willow, are you happy with how I handled things?"
"Very much so," Willow replied, a genuine smile on her face.
"Wonderful. Now, about that job offer..." Skyview started, but Willow shook her head. "No need."
Skyview asked, "Changing your mind about leaving? Trust me, you'd be much safer staying at the Twin Group. Under my protection, no one would dare say a word against you."
"I've decided to start my own company," Willow announced.
"Your own company?" Skyview's eyebrows shot up. "Joining the ranks of us capitalists, huh?"
Willow chuckled. "I realize now that I was being foolish, trying to prove myself without relying on my family's support. It was pointless. An advantage is an advantage. I'm no genius, and there's no shame in using the resources I have."
"Wise words, Willow." Skyview nodded approvingly. "Your time here may not have been what you expected, but at least it taught you some valuable lessons."
"Let's not dwell on the past," Willow said, picking up a bouquet of scattered roses. "I'm mentally drained. I think I'll head home and get some rest. Thanks for the flowers, Skyview."
"See you tonight?" Skyview asked, his eyes twinkling.
"Tonight it is," Willow confirmed with a wink, before turning and walking away.
Even without her entrepreneurial ambitions, staying at the Twin Group after revealing her true identity was out of the question. It was time for a clean break.
Skyview watched her go, a hint of admiration in his gaze. He couldn't blame her for her decision.
"You're a lucky man, Mr. Scott," John said, breaking the silence. "May your good fortune continue."
"As long as I'm aware of it," Skyview replied, his tone amused. "And may your streak of bad luck continue."
John, unable to stand another second in Skyview's presence, just nodded curtly and walked away. He couldn't help but seethe with envy. At twenty, Skyview had inherited a fifty-billion-dollar empire and the chairmanship of the Twin Group. It was enough to make even a seasoned businessman like himself green with envy.
Night had fallen over the city, but the stars were barely visible, outshone by the dazzling city lights.
At the harbor, the Starlight Voyager, the largest luxury cruise ship in the country, loomed like a majestic floating palace. Its decks, draped in luxurious red carpets and bathed in the glow of countless lights, awaited the evening's guests.
The Brighter Futures Ball was less a charity event and more a grand networking opportunity. Celebrities mingled with business tycoons, politicians exchanged pleasantries with renowned academics. The air buzzed with excitement and the promise of lucrative deals struck amidst the clinking champagne glasses and the soft strains of music.
Tonight, the Starlight Voyager was the epicenter of wealth, power, and ambition.
