Chapter 161 Tit for Tat
"Skyview!" Hilda's face was as gloomy as a storm cloud, teeth clenched. "You're doing this on purpose! You know I'm negotiating with Penguin Company, and you're sabotaging it, aren't you?"
Hilda's eyes burned with hatred for Skyview.
Skyview met her gaze, completely unfazed.
"Yep, you got it!" Skyview smirked. "I did it on purpose. So what?"
"You'll regret this!" Hilda's voice dripped with venom. "You just wrecked a billion-dollar deal! You won't get away with this!"
Hilda had grown up in Evalia, shaped by the cruelty and brutality of his parents.
Unlike Skyview, who had self-discipline and moral values, Hilda was ruthless.
A murderous glint flashed in his eyes.
He wanted Skyview dead. If he killed him, not only would this thorn in his side be gone, but the Twin Group would fall into the Davis family's hands.
With the Davis family in control, Hilda would essentially run the Twin Group.
He thought, 'Skyview, the chairman's position should've been mine. You just swooped in and took it!
'And you keep opposing me, over and over. This is intolerable. I must kill you!
'Skyview, just wait for your death!'
Hilda's mind was consumed with murderous thoughts.
This intent calmed him. His previously angry face became a mask of indifference.
"Regret? I never regret anything!" Skyview sneered. "I think the one who should regret is you!"
Hilda replied calmly, "I hope you never regret it."
Skyview laughed heartily. "Still trying to act tough?"
Hilda stayed silent.
Talking more would only make things worse.
Seeing Hilda's silence, Skyview ignored her.
"Benjamin, do you know what offer Shark Live gave you?" Skyview asked. "Care to share?"
Benjamin smiled. "Sure, no problem. Hilda from Shark Livestream is proposing we buy a 25% stake for two billion."
"What?" Skyview feigned shock. "Is he nuts? Two billion? Why doesn't he just rob a bank?!"
Benjamin said, "That's business for you, always inflating the price!"
Skyview laughed. "Our LiveWave is a bit less popular than Shark Live. Since Shark Live offered 2 billion, we'll sell for 1.5 billion. How about that?"
Benjamin stayed silent.
He had brought Skyview into the deal to pressure Hilda into lowering the price.
As for acquiring LiveWave?
Benjamin had no such intention!
Penguin Company's only target was Shark Live!
Otherwise, they wouldn't want buy any other livestream platform!
"Skyview, you criticize me? But I think you should be the one robbing a bank!" Hilda mocked. "With LiveWave in its current state, you want sell 25% of the shares for 1.5 billion? Dream on! I think your 25% is worth 500 million!"
Skyview shot back, "Didn't you offer 2 billion? My 1.5 billion is a precise valuation!"
"Can you compare with me? Can LiveWave compare with Shark Live?" Hilda said arrogantly. "You know, I initially only dared to ask for 1 billion, but now I dare to ask for 2 billion! There's no other company in the live streaming industry that dares to ask for such a price!"
Skyview chuckled. "And why is that?"
Hilda proudly said, "Because of 'Boring'! Our Shark has produced super-rich users like Boring and Nova, who recharge 200 million and 50 million, respectively. LiveWave will never encounter such users! Asking for 2 billion is very reasonable! If you follow the live streaming industry, you should know who 'Boring' is, right?"
"'Boring'?" Skyview said. "Don't think that just because your platform has this user, your platform will thrive! This materialistic trend will eventually cause problems! While money is the priority, don't underrate morals and ethics!"
"Morals and ethics? Do you think I care about this bullshit?" Hilda laughed as if hearing a great joke. "This world is all about money. I can't believe you're so naive and still want to compete with me?"
"Let me give you some advice," Skyview said, looking at Benjamin. "Penguin Company should focus on guiding the youth's values, not just on profits. Our LiveWave, though smaller than Shark Live, values this stuff!"
Benjamin said perfunctorily, "Got it, Penguin Company isn't all about chasing money, but we don't mind if others splash it around. It's their cash, their call, right?"
Skyview sighed slightly.
"You're so naive, Skyview!" Hilda said arrogantly. "In this world, as long as you have money, you have everything. And money is everything! With 'Boring,' we can defeat LiveWave!"
Skyview's face showed an awkward expression, but his heart was filled with joy.
In fact, the 'Boring' Hilda mentioned was actually Skyview!
Skyview had pretended to be the super-rich 'Boring' to mock Shark's materialistic trend. When the streamers and viewers realized that the super-rich person they worshipped was fake, they would reflect on their ridiculous behavior and at least be less materialistic!
Skyview also watched live streams and was well aware of the various issues in the industry. Especially Shark, as a leading company, promoted materialism and flattered the wealthy, with vulgar content.
In contrast, LiveWave focused on streaming games, food, and travel, promoting positive and healthy themes that should be more widely known.
