Chapter 273 Several Reasons

John raised an eyebrow, giving Kaelen a once-over. The younger guy's face was like a poker mask, cool as a cucumber. "What's it?"

"A stock swap," Kaelen said, a sly smile tugging at his lips.

"Stock swap?" John squinted. "Which stocks are we talking about?"

"Your seven percent stake in Twin Group," Kaelen answered, calm as ever.

"You want my Twin Group shares?" John let out a hearty laugh, but his eyes had a hard edge.

"Exactly," Kaelen confirmed, not even flinching at John's reaction.

"So, you want to be the second-largest shareholder in Twin Group?" John asked, a hint of challenge in his voice.

"That's right," Kaelen said, his gaze steady.

"Give me one good reason why I should even think about this," John demanded, his tone turning icy.

Kaelen's smile grew, confidence sparking in his eyes. "John, I can give you more than one reason. I've got several that I think will make this deal too good to pass up."

"I'm all ears," John said, leaning back in his chair, his face unreadable.

He had zero plans to let go of his Twin Group shares. They were his golden goose, the backbone of the Davis family fortune, along with Golden Harvest Market and Shark Live. Those shares were non-negotiable, unless the Davis family was on the brink of disaster. And they were nowhere near that.

Still, John was curious. He wanted to see what Kaelen had up his sleeve, what kind of offer could possibly make him consider such a bold move. It was a chance to gauge the ambition of this so-called "future Prime Minister."

Kaelen, knowing full well John's hesitation, started his pitch. "First off, I propose a trade. For your seven percent of Twin Group, I'll give you eight percent of TripLink and twelve percent of Greenleaf Group. That's twenty percent in two booming companies."

Eight percent of TripLink! John's eyebrows shot up. TripLink was a powerhouse, dominating the market and raking in profits. Their future looked bright. And Greenleaf Group wasn't too shabby either. Twelve percent of their shares was a hefty offer.

Even though John prized his Twin Group shares, he had to admit Kaelen's offer was pretty sweet, maybe even worth more than his seven percent stake.

"That's a tempting offer, I'll give you that," John said, a flicker of amusement in his eyes. "But tempting isn't enough. What else you got?"

"For your peace of mind," Kaelen continued smoothly, "we'll throw in a three-year buyback option. If at any point in those three years you regret the decision, you can buy back your shares at the original price."

John chuckled, impressed by Kaelen's boldness. "You're making this hard to turn down. But I still have my doubts. Keep going."

Kaelen held up three fingers. "Thirdly, John, you know my history with Skyview. My attempt to take him out for Hilda's sake didn't go as planned. I underestimated him and paid the price. But now, Skyview and I are enemies. And as they say, the enemy of my enemy..."

"Is not necessarily my friend," John cut in, his voice dripping with skepticism. "With your extraordinary abilities, how were you brought to this state by Skyview?"

"Complacency," Kaelen admitted without a beat. "I didn't take him seriously before. But I won't make that mistake again. Still, external pressure alone won't cut it. To really take down Skyview, we need to fight fire with fire, from within Twin Group. That's where I come in."

"Confidence is a valuable asset," John noted, his face giving nothing away. "But I'm still waiting for that one reason that'll convince me."

Kaelen smiled, his eyes gleaming with sharp intelligence. "Alright, John. Let's talk about Skyview's impact on the Davis family. He's cost you big time, both financially and reputationally. You hate him, but you seem powerless to stop him. This says a lot about the current state of the Davis family."

He paused, allowing his words to resonate. "If I'm not mistaken, you're stuck, unsure how to counter Skyview's moves. Your grandson, Hilda, is in a tight spot, with solid evidence linking him to the attempt on Skyview's life."

"If this goes on, Skyview will solidify his hold on Twin Group, securing the backing of the board and shareholders. Your influence will fade, and knowing Skyview, he won't hesitate to push you out completely. The fall of the Davis family will be quick and brutal."

"My family, the Darkmoons, have way more influence and resources than the Davises. With me as your ally, as the second-largest shareholder, we can challenge Skyview's dominance. You can sit back and watch the titans clash, knowing your interests are safe."

"And in three years, when you use your buyback option, the landscape will have changed. You'll get your shares back in a company where Skyview's power has been seriously cut down. It's a win-win, John. Don't let pride get in the way of a good deal."
