Chapter 53 Master Appears
To catch an agile thief, one must be faster than him.
Skyview's gaze fell on Suzanne as he thought of the candidate for this job.
Undoubtedly, Suzanne, a former professional soldier, was capable of catching a thief.
Although Lily hired all of the people from the underworld, being part of the underworld only indicated some capability and a strong network, not necessarily one of strength or speed.
Only those like Suzanne, who had experienced death and killing within the military, were truly formidable, much more so than the average underworld personnel. While the underworld might be ruthless in killing a few individuals, in a military engagement, the loss of millions of lives was quite normal.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Suzanne felt disgusted by the strange look in Skyview's eyes.
"Suzanne, can you do me a favor?" Skyview asked with a smile.
"What favor?" Suzanne took two steps back. "You're not getting interested in me, are you?"
"What are you thinking about? Don't misunderstand me," Skyview said seriously.
"You know the difficulties the company is facing. Although I've bribed the media and restored our company's reputation, to truly solve the problem, we must get rid of Jack! I've spared Jack twice, but he shows no remorse. If he gets out of punishment again, he will take revenge again. So, for the sake of our city's social stability, Jack must go to jail!"
Skyview spoke with great righteousness.
However, Suzanne sneered, "I see. You're only focusing on your own interests! Why be so hypocritical?"
Skyview shamelessly replied, "I didn't expect you to see through me like that! You are improving, nice!"
"Will you help with this favor?" Skyview asked.
"No," Suzanne replied coldly.
"Why not? I'm your boss!" Skyview exclaimed.
"Although you're my boss, I'm just your bodyguard. Dealing with thieves isn't my responsibility unless someone threatens your safety. I won't help," Suzanne explained.
Skyview chuckled. "If you catch the thief who stole the package, I'll give you two thousand dollars!"
Suzanne snorted, falling into a long silence.
"Okay, I'm going to catch the thief, not for the money, but for the society. Don't misunderstand me!". She hurriedly clarified.
After agreeing immediately, Suzanne felt a bit embarrassed. She wondered if she appeared greedy, akin to those shameless journalists, lacking dignity.
"No need to explain. I know you're very just doing this for the stability of the country." Skyview praised Suzanne for her righteousness but with a mocking tone.
Suzanne, feeling humiliated, grabbed Skyview's collar, saying, "Let's play a game!"
"What are you going to do?" Skyview asked in surprise.
"I'll make you fly!" Suzanne said.
Suddenly, Skyview felt his body lift off the ground.
Shortly after, he found himself sitting in a chair.
It turned out Suzanne had used a judo throw to toss Skyview onto the office chair.
Skyview wasn't injured, but he was startled, thinking Suzanne was indeed a violent woman, lacking the gentleness of a girl, which he found quite inelegant!
"I am off!" Suzanne felt a release of anger after startling Skyview and then left the office, feeling relax. "Wait for my good news!"
"Damn it! This violent woman, she might never get married with such a short temperament!" Skyview cursed with a laugh.
"With her figure and appearance, she won't have trouble finding a husband," Hekka chuckled.
"If it weren't for her good looks, I would have fired her long ago," Skyview lamented.
"Although she's violent, a killer, and violates military rule, she's a good girl," Hekka said. "You should cherish such a good employee!"
Sighing, Skyview said, "I know she's actually kind. I'll be more tolerant of her!"
Andrew Reed was a thief.
In this world, there were countless industries.
Some industries were highly respected and admired.
Some industries were despised and discriminated against.
Some industries, like rats in the gutter, always operated in the dark.
Some industries are praised on the surface but secretly looked down upon.
In the entire societal pyramid stratum, each layer had its elites.
Andrew was an elite among thieves.
Sometimes, a person's fate seemed predetermined from birth.
Shortly after Andrew was born, he fell victim to rampant trafficking, separated from his biological parents and raised by others, ending up in a poverty-stricken area, In such areas, boys were favored over girls, and although Andrew was an adopted son, he was well cared for.
Until one day, Andrew's first adoptive mother passed away from cancer, and his adoptive father remarried a widow. His second adoptive mother soon had a child. As the second adoptive mother's belly grew, Andrew's position in the household shook.
At that time, Andrew knew his fate was decided by the baby's gender. If the second adoptive mother gave birth to a daughter, he could barely survive, but if she had a son, his status would undoubtedly plummet!
