Chapter 24: Birthday Party
"Really?" Willow asked.
"Indeed," Skyview said bitterly. "If you don't believe me, you can go to the judicial authorities and ask. Alice has been prosecuted for kidnapping, and now she's facing a long sentence in jail."
"Wait a moment," Willow said to Skyview.
With that, Willow took out her own phone and made a call.
"I want to inquire if someone named Alice is detained in prison? She was detained for kidnapping. Alright, I understand, thank you!"
Skyview watched as Willow made the call, convinced that Willow had a deep background! But this wasn't surprising; Willow had a brother who drove a Rolls-Royce, indicating she was from a wealthy family. Typically, girls from such affluent families naturally had extraordinary connections with the government.
After the call, Willow looked apologetically at Skyview and said, "I'm sorry, Skyview, I misunderstood you!"
"It's okay," Skyview said. "I'm glad that you know the truth, I'm just afraid of being misunderstood by you."
Willow looked at Skyview with pity and said, "I never expected you to be so hurt in love. Alice isn't a good woman; she doesn't know how to cherish a good man."
Women always tend to sympathize with men who are emotionally hurt, just as men tend to feel sorry for girls who are emotionally hurt. This kind of strange psychology is present in most humans.
Seeing this situation, Skyview was delighted.
Not only did he clear up Willow's misunderstanding about him, but he also made Willow feel affectionate toward him.
"I know you're a good woman!" Skyview said solemnly, "I won't let go of a good woman like you!"
"Do you really think I'm a good woman?" Willow chuckled.
"Of course, you're beautiful, kind-hearted, helpful, and independent," Skyview said earnestly, "I'm deeply attracted to you!"
Women can never resist sweet words, especially when Skyview's interpretation of Willow was so accurate. This made Willow feel that Skyview truly understood her, increasing her fondness for him in an instant.
"So, are you going to pursue me?" Willow smiled.
"Yes!" Skyview said seriously. "I want you to be mine! You're a good woman, and I'm a good man; we should be together!"
"If you're willing to do me a favor, I'll give you a chance to pursue me," Willow said with a smile. "Otherwise, we have nothing to discuss."
"What favor?" Skyview asked.
"Help me teach Connor a lesson. Connor thinks he can get any woman just because he's rich. He's been pestering me, and I find him extremely annoying!" Willow said. "But I'm relying on HealthPro Medical Devices Company for my business. I want to execute my work perfectly, so I can't afford to offend Connor. So I can't do the stuff by myself. I believe you can do the job for me and shatter Connor's confidence completely. After you handle this, he won't dare to harass me again, right?"
"I'm good at handling this kind of thing!" Skyview said confidently.
"Alright, my birthday is in three days. My birthday party will be simple, with just a few close friends!" Willow said. "But Connor will definitely be there. I hope you can teach him a lesson at that time!"
"Sure, leave it to me!" Skyview assured, "There won't be any problems at all!"
"Can you let go of my hand now?" Willow scolded Skyview, looking displeased.
"Your palm is so warm," Skyview awkwardly let go of her hand and scratched his head.
A moment later, Skyview said to Lily, "Lily, go find out information about Connor, the general manager of HealthPro Medical Devices Company."
Lily's abilities were exceptional, and soon enough, detailed information about Connor appeared in front of Skyview! The information was so detailed that it even included what color underwear Connor liked to wear, all laid out clearly!
"What? Connor changes girlfriends every week. This behavior is enviable, no, it's detestable!
"What? Connor is a scumbag; many women have been dumped by him. His love stories could be made into adult films, what a scumbag!
"I can't let a good girl like Willow fall into the hands of a scumbag like Connor and be played by him!" Skyview made up his mind.
As for Connor, he'd better stay far away!
Three days later, at the Romance Restaurant, Willow's birthday party began at 8pm.
As Willow had said, the birthday party was simple, with only a few female friends and colleagues in attendance.

"Willow, I heard a rich man named Connor is pursuing you recently!" Yvonne Phillips, one of Willow's female friends, said. "I also heard that Connor is very handsome!"
"Really?" Another female colleague of Willow's, Melody Evans, said, "That's so enviable!"
"Connor comes from a wealthy family, right?"
"He drives a Mercedes!"
"Willow, you're so lucky! Why can't I have a rich company heir pursue me when I'm young and wealthy?"
One by one, Willow's female friends and colleagues expressed their envy toward her.
However, Willow frowned and said, "Is money the most important thing when looking for a boyfriend? I think not. The most important thing for me is the feeling. Besides, I don't feel anything for that Connor at all!"
"Willow!" Yvonne exclaimed. "We're not young anymore, so why talk about these immature things? The most important thing for a man is to have a career, which essentially means having money! Cars, houses, beautiful bags—aren't they all bought with money?"
