Chapter 294 The Gaming Company

With a kickboxing background, Kaelen had a ripped body, killer wrist strength, and a knack for precision. Even though he’d never thrown darts before, he chucked the remote with dart-like accuracy.

The remote sailed through the air toward Skyview. Catching it was out of the question, but he didn’t even flinch. He just stood there and said, "Suzanne, this jerk’s trying to hit me with the remote. I’m gonna get hurt. Help!"

Suzanne rolled her eyes, stepped forward, and snagged the flying remote effortlessly. “Don’t let it happen again!” Suzanne glared at Kaelen. “Or you'll regret it!” She handed the remote to Skyview and walked away gracefully.

Kaelen watched Suzanne, feeling a mix of fear and envy. A bodyguard as badass as Suzanne was rare, no matter how much money one had. Kaelen's bodyguards narrowed their eyes, sensing Suzanne's unmatched strength.

“With Suzanne protecting me,” Skyview said smugly, “you think your little tricks can hurt me? You’re out of your mind!”

Kaelen shot back, “Do you only know how to hide behind women? In business, you hide behind Hekka. For safety, you hide behind Suzanne. If you’re a man, fight for yourself!”

“Winning over women is the ultimate proof of a man’s strength!” Skyview chuckled. “Kaelen, Willow prefers me over you, which just proves I’m more of a man than you are. You can't even get a girl, so what makes you think you're so awesome?”

Mentioning Willow made Kaelen furious. He’d never failed to win over a girl, but Willow was different. If she just didn’t like him, that’d be one thing, but the fact that she liked Skyview and not him was something Kaelen couldn’t accept.

“Willow just has poor taste!” Kaelen spat bitterly. “Not every woman recognizes a good man when she sees one. Some are just shallow, superficial girls.”

“Sounds like the whining of a loser,” Skyview remarked. Kaelen fell silent. A defeat was a defeat; no amount of arguing would change that.

Skyview pressed the remote and started flipping through the slides. From this report, Skyview truly felt the immense power of the Twin Group. He finally understood why both John and Kaelen were so desperate to become chairman.

The report showed that the Twin Group was involved in a ton of industries—healthcare, education, biopharmaceuticals, entertainment, food, gaming, apps, video platforms, forums, and more. Some sectors were doing great, others not so much, but the sheer range of their operations was impressive.

And this wasn’t even the full picture; these were just the underperforming subsidiaries John had carefully picked out. Many of the Twin Group’s top-performing branches weren’t even included.

This was the Twin Group, capable of competing with Penguin Company, ApexTech Group, and Cascade Group! Skyview now felt the weight of the business empire he was inheriting. It was due to the vastness of this business empire that most of the board members distrusted him, making it difficult for him to truly take control. But right now, Skyview was ambitious.

After flipping through a few slides, Skyview paused on one. This slide highlighted two companies, both game companies of similar size, each worth about a hundred million dollars. In today’s booming game industry, such companies were considered small. This wasn’t the era where selling tens of thousands of games and earning a few million dollars was a big deal anymore.

The first company was called Stellar Gaming Studios, and the second was FutureTech Games. These two companies were originally one gaming company. They weren’t founded by the Twin Group but were acquired by them.

The original company’s leaders had different visions for the future of the gaming industry and couldn’t agree, so they split the company into two smaller ones.
