Chapter 284 Coercion

Skyview was itching to get back for a couple of reasons. First off, with him out of the picture, Kaelen wouldn't have anyone to mess with.

Second, Skyview had some digging to do. He needed to figure out how Kaelen convinced John to become the Twin Group's second-largest shareholder. Plus, he had to see how many other shareholders or organizations Kaelen had on his side.

Skyview was in the dark, but he wasn't about to let Kaelen make things tough for him. But, of course, it wasn't that simple. Kaelen had caught Skyview off guard and wasn't planning to let him leave so easily.

"Hold up, Skyview, why the rush?" Kaelen smirked. "This isn't just about me becoming the second-largest shareholder. That's just a formality; we could've just told you and Hekka. There's something bigger going on here."

Skyview sighed to himself. He wanted to leave, but he couldn't. He was just the chairman of the Twin Group in name only. But now, the real power was with him and Hekka. Leaving irresponsibly would hurt her.

Skyview was grateful to Hekka. Even though Hekka was just loyal to her mission, she had turned Skyview from a poor man into a rich one.

Hekka had always been good to Skyview. He wasn't dumb; he knew how much effort Hekka had put in to fight for his interests. He remembered her kindness.

Skyview couldn't just walk away. Even though he didn't want to wield the real power of the Twin Group's chairman, he was still the chairman. Avoiding problems wouldn't solve them. Even if caught off guard, he had to face them head-on.

Thinking it over, Skyview sat back down, his face calm. "Alright, Kaelen, what's this other business you have?" he said casually. "You just joined the Twin Group and you're already trying to stir things up. Isn't that a bit unprofessional? Without investigation, you have no right to speak. I hear you're a business genius, but don't make a fool of yourself."

Skyview sarcastically pointed out that Kaelen, who had just joined the Twin Group and knew nothing, was trying to interfere in its affairs, which was foolish.

"Skyview, you're right. Without investigation, I have no right to speak. So, before I bought John's shares, I already did my homework on the Twin Group. I don't make moves unless I'm confident." Kaelen calmly defended himself.

The board members were sharp and quickly caught on. Even with a new second-largest shareholder, things were pretty much the same. Anyone could see that Skyview and Kaelen were in a power struggle.

"So, Kaelen, what have you prepared this time?" Skyview asked, a hint of mystery in his voice. "And who's your target? Surely, it's not me, right?"

Kaelen grinned. "Actually, I'm eyeing a business you're in charge of. I've been chatting with Erin, the head of ApexTech Group. I'm speaking for her too. She wants to buy Lakeview Express."

As soon as Kaelen said that, all eyes turned to Skyview. Everyone knew Lakeview Express was Skyview's pride and joy at the Twin Group. Kaelen was clearly gunning for him, aiming to sell off the company Skyview had built. The board members started whispering and discussing among themselves.

Skyview's face stayed calm, but inside, he felt a bit off. Kaelen's first move was to push him to sell Lakeview Express to Erin. Funny enough, that was Skyview's original plan. But he knew better than to show his hand now. Instead, he had to act like he couldn't sell it to get the best deal.

Hekka found the whole thing ridiculous too. She was about to reach out to Erin to sell Lakeview Express, but Kaelen thought Skyview didn't want to sell and brought it up, trying to force his hand. In reality, he was doing Skyview a favor.

Skyview and Hekka exchanged a knowing look. Skyview gave a slight nod, signaling he got it. Without realizing it, the two had developed a seamless understanding.

"Kaelen, are you seriously suggesting I sell Lakeview Express?" Skyview pretended to be furious.

Kaelen replied, "Yes. Selling Lakeview Express is the best move for the Twin Group."

Skyview roared, "You jerk! Lakeview Express is my dream, and it has a bright future! How can you even think of selling it? You're hurting the Twin Group!" His acting skills are exceptional.

Now, with Skyview's performance, everyone believed that Lakeview Express was crucial to him. But in reality, Skyview was itching to sell it. After all, he owned 51% of its shares, and selling it would be a huge payday for him.

"Dream?" Kaelen sneered. "Skyview, you're the chairman of the Twin Group. You're not a kid anymore. What dreams are you talking about? We should prioritize our interests. If it benefits the Twin Group, we should do it!"
