Chapter 291 Continued Pressure

A $7 billion contract was a big deal anywhere, and it had to be perfect. After Hekka checked it over and found no problems, she got her lawyer to double-check it.

Kaelen, feeling all smug, rolled himself up to Skyview. Skyview looked at him with undisguised disgust. He saw no reason to be nice to someone like Kaelen. If he could, he would've taken Kaelen out a long time ago.

Skyview was seriously bummed that Raymond, the world's seventh deadliest assassin, couldn't finish the job. If only Kaelen were a dead man now!

"Skyview, all you do is talk. I'm not gonna waste my time arguing with you!" Kaelen, sure of his win, wasn't fazed by Skyview's sarcasm. He saw it as the whining of a sore loser. "How does it feel to lose something you worked so hard for? Now you're feeling the same pain as Hilda, huh?"

Skyview looked at Kaelen like he was an idiot and shot back, "What are you so proud of? You think making me sell Lakeview Express means you've won?"

"Isn't it?" Kaelen sneered. "Lakeview Express was your only big win in the Twin Group. Once it's sold, your achievements are gone. It might look like you made more money, but you've lost your foundation. I'll keep chipping away at you until you're completely done!"

Kaelen hated Skyview even more than John. After all, John's grandson Hilda was just in prison, but his buddy Thelonius got gunned down by an assassin right in front of him. He watched helplessly, almost dying himself. And it was all because of Skyview!

"Then you're gonna be disappointed," Skyview said with a smirk. "The shared container model of Lakeview Express was just a temporary fix. I never believed in it. I always planned to sell Lakeview Express for $5 billion, but thanks to you, I made an extra two billion. I should thank you." Skyview couldn't help but laugh.

"You really know how to put on a brave face," Kaelen didn't buy it. He stubbornly thought Skyview must be hurting and coldly said, "You're hurting inside but pretending it doesn't matter. How foolish!"

Skyview rolled his eyes, thinking Kaelen was way too full of himself. But thanks to his stupidity, Skyview could make a killing himself.

"The contract looks solid," Hekka's lawyer said after giving it a good once-over. Hekka tucked the contract away and handed it to Skyview. "You really should check out such a big project yourself. If I decided to screw you over, you'd be in deep trouble!"

Hekka was touched by Skyview's total trust but also gave him a hard time for being so lazy. She thought Skyview would be better off as a homeless guy than the chairman of the Twin Group.

"I'd be willing to die at your hands," Skyview said quietly.

"Just sign it!" Hekka snapped at Skyview. Skyview scribbled his name on the contract.

After signing, the folks from ApexTech Group took off right away, not sticking around at the Twin Group. According to the deal, the $7 billion would hit the Twin Group's account over the next seven months. After taxes, Skyview pocketed $3 billion!

"Alright, you called this emergency meeting just to push me into selling Lakeview Express," Skyview said, looking around calmly. "Now that it’s done, let's wrap it up!"

"No!" Kaelen protested, lifting his head and locking eyes with Skyview.

Skyview felt the urge to kick Kaelen, but he couldn't justify bullying a disabled person without a good reason, so he held back.

"You seem to have a full agenda today!" Skyview said sarcastically. "What else, Kaelen?"

Kaelen announced loudly, "I have a proposal to make!"

Skyview frowned. "What's your proposal?"

"The person with the most company shares doesn't necessarily have to be the chairman!" Kaelen was now fully targeting Skyview, his eyes sharp. "Skyview, I don't think you're qualified to be the chairman of the Twin Group!"

"So you think you're qualified to be the chairman of the Twin Group?" Skyview sneered. Kaelen was relentless, pushing Skyview once more, which annoyed Skyview.

"That's right!" Kaelen nodded. "I want to be the chairman of the Twin Group! Skyview, you're just an inexperienced poor guy, unworthy of leading us. I come from one of the four major families in Skyscape City, the Darkmoon family. I graduated from Wharton School as a top student and have years of investment experience. Companies like Greenleaf Group, TripLink, and Skyscape CityWealthWave are among my successful ventures!"

Kaelen continued, "I am convinced that under my leadership, the Twin Group will seize more opportunities, including international expansion. Skyview, though you hold the title of chairman, Hekka manages the daily operations, which casts doubt on your leadership capabilities!"

"All in all, I think I'm better suited to be the chairman. Such a large corporation shouldn't be headed by you just because you're related to Dylan!"
