Chapter 208 A Phone Call

"Your woman?" Willow blushed, though a hint of amusement flickered in her eyes. "You're so shameless! What are you thinking?"

Skyview chuckled. "I'm thinking about you, of course."

"Don't be ridiculous," Willow said, rolling her eyes playfully. Then, her expression turned serious.

"Tell me, does the Davis Family own a supermarket?"

"Golden Harvest Market," Skyview replied, his brow furrowing slightly.

"The large chain?"

"That's the one."

A sly smile spread across Willow's lips. "Perfect. Consider this problem solved. Golden Harvest Market will be shut down for two weeks for 'reorganization.' First week, fire safety. Second week, sanitation."

Skyview's jaw dropped. "You...you can do that?"

Willow's smile turned positively predatory. "Just watch."

She pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

"Mr. Reyes? Yes, there seems to be a problem with Golden Harvest Market."

"Fire safety and sanitation violations, quite concerning... Revoke their license?"

"No need to be so drastic. Just shut them down for two weeks, let them reorganize. People still need their groceries, after all. Excellent. Thank you, Mr. Reyes."

She hung up and turned back to Skyview, her expression smug. "Done. Problem solved."

John stared at her, his face a mask of disbelief.

Yosef and Ms. Reyes were equally dumbfounded.

Everyone in the vicinity seemed to have been struck speechless.

She was just an employee before, now holding the power to hobble a corporate giant with a single phone call?

"Impossible!" John sputtered, his composure finally cracking. "You can't shut down Golden Harvest Market with a snap of your fingers! It's the third-largest supermarket chain in Golden Isle City! How could you possibly have that kind of influence?"

Just then, John's assistant's phone rang. He answered, his face draining of color as he listened to the voice on the other end.

"Mr. Davis... It's the general manager of Golden Harvest Market," he stammered, his voice trembling.

John snatched the phone, his hand shaking. "What's going on?"

"We're finished, Mr. Davis!" the general manager wailed. "The fire department just called. They're claiming Golden Harvest Market is a safety hazard and ordering us to shut down for a week for 'reorganization'! They're sending inspectors over as we speak!"

Golden Harvest Market was the Davis Family's cash cow, more important even than Shark Live. A shutdown, even for a week, would cost them close to a billion dollars a day, not to mention the expenses of the 'reorganization' itself.

John's blood ran cold. He had poked a sleeping dragon, and now it was breathing fire. Willow wasn't bluffing. She was a Link, and she wielded power like a weapon.

"I... I understand," he choked out, his voice hoarse. "We'll comply with the order. Two weeks of reorganization."

"Mr. Davis, we have to do something!" the general manager pleaded. "This will ruin us!"

"We have no choice," John said, his voice hollow. "It's over."

He hung up the phone, his face ashen. The room fell silent as everyone gazed at Willow with a blend of awe and fear. This seemingly ordinary woman had just brought a corporate titan to its knees with a single phone call. The power she wielded was terrifying.

Ms. Reyes was consumed by regret, wishing she could have been kinder and friendlier to Willow. Now it was too late. She had made an enemy of someone she couldn't afford to cross.

Yosef felt a chill run down his spine. If angering Skyview was dangerous, then harassing Willow was suicidal. He knew retribution was coming, and it wouldn't be pretty. Prison seemed like a very real possibility.

John, his face pale and drawn, approached Willow, forcing a shaky smile onto his lips. "Miss Link," he said, his voice uncharacteristically meek. "I apologize for my ignorance. I should have recognized your...stature. I believe I once had the pleasure of discussing a project with your father, the mayor..."

"Save it, John," Willow interrupted, her voice cold. "Consider this a warning."

John swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. "Of course, Miss Link. I am truly sorry for any...misunderstanding."

He was utterly powerless before her.

"Your apologies mean nothing to me," Willow said, her gaze fixed on him. "I want to know one thing: will Yosef be punished for his actions?"

"Of course!" John said, his voice ringing with false indignation. "His behavior was reprehensible, unforgivable! He deserves to be punished severely!"

"And should Skyview be the one to deliver that punishment?" Willow pressed.

"Absolutely!" John agreed, practically leaping at the opportunity to redirect her anger. "In fact, I'd like to hit him myself! Harassing you like that... Despicable!"

"And should he be fired?"

"A man who harasses his employees has no place in the Twin Group," John declared, his voice full of righteous fury. "He will be terminated immediately!"

"I thought you were going to protect him," Willow said, raising an eyebrow.

"Protect him?" John scoffed. "I'll make sure he rots in prison for what he did to you!"

"Very well," Willow said, a satisfied smile playing on her lips. "This matter is settled. Yosef, Ms. Reyes... Nicholas will be handling your punishment personally."

"And if they are under your protection, John... Well, Nicholas can be quite thorough when settling scores."

She turned to Skyview, her voice softening. "As for my position at the Twin Group... I resign."

Then, she raised her voice, addressing the entire room. "I quit!"

"Don't worry about it," Skyview said, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I came here to whisk you away anyway. I have a surprise for you."

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"You can come in now."
