Chapter 261 Easy Suppression

"Are you kidding me? Suzanne, you were supposed to be saving Jaxon! What the hell are you doing here?" Eulalia screamed, her cool demeanor shattering. The icy mask she wore for Skyview melted away, leaving nothing but raw fear.

In fact, Eulalia wasn't an assassin at first. Her short stature, thanks to dwarfism, had made her a target for cruelty and prejudice her whole life. That kind of relentless negativity shaped people in different ways. Some retreated into themselves, becoming timid and wary, only to face more abuse until they finally broke. People heard those stories all too often.

Others fought back with a fierce intensity. They might get battered and bruised, even bloodied, but they made it clear they were not to be messed with. After a few such displays, bullies usually moved on to easier targets. These were the two most common responses to systemic cruelty.

Eulalia, though, was a rare third type. With a streak of antisocial personality disorder, she was utterly ruthless. When a girl who had tormented her ended up dead after a fall from the school rooftop, everyone knew Eulalia was behind it. But there was no proof, and even if there had been, her age at the time would have shielded her from serious consequences. This early experience shaped her worldview.

It also sparked a fascination with weapons and killing. Eulalia lived a double life: one moment she was a kid lost in cartoons, the next a cold-blooded killer.

For years, she worked as a mercenary, lending her skills to various warlords, reveling in the thrill of the kill. And all the while, she kept growing. Then, one fateful day, her mercenary group crossed paths with Suzanne.

At first, Eulalia didn't see Suzanne as much of a threat. In her mind, Suzanne was just another opponent, maybe even an inferior one.

She couldn't have been more wrong. By the time the dust settled, her entire team was nearly wiped out. She and the second-in-command barely escaped with their lives, their bodies riddled with wounds from Suzanne's blade.

That encounter left a permanent scar on Eulalia's psyche. Suzanne became her shadow, her constant nightmare.

Even now, she wouldn't have dared to target Skyview if Thelonius hadn't convinced her that his plan was foolproof, that Suzanne was nowhere near Skyview. Eulalia would never risk an assassination under Suzanne's watchful eye.

But here Suzanne was, standing before her as if summoned from her darkest fears. "Thelonius, you incompetent fool!" Eulalia cursed internally.

Suzanne looked calmly at Eulalia. She had a knack for remembering faces, especially those who had slipped through her fingers. Eulalia, despite her size, had managed to survive their last encounter. Whether Suzanne had let her go or not didn’t matter; very few lived to tell the tale of facing Blackwing Suzanne.

"You wanted to draw Suzanne out, so we smoked out the assassin. I was curious to see who was more skilled, you or me," Skyview said with a playful smirk. "Looks like I win!"

Eulalia's breath caught in her chest. Retreat was the only option now. Fight Suzanne? That was suicide.

"I spared you once in the desert. You should have learned your lesson," Suzanne said, her voice tinged with a hint of pity. "But you're an assassin now. And just as unlucky as ever."

"Don't get cocky, Suzanne! I'm not afraid of you!" Eulalia shot back, trying to sound brave despite her fear. "Come on then, let's fight!"

She lunged forward, pretending to attack Suzanne while aiming for Skyview. Taking him hostage was her only shot at escape. Fighting Suzanne head-on was a fool's errand.

Skyview didn’t even flinch, his faith in Suzanne absolute. Besides, even if he wanted to dodge, Eulalia was blindingly fast, at least ten times quicker than him.

As expected, Suzanne didn’t disappoint. She moved like a ghost, ten times faster than Eulalia, intercepting her attack with a solid thud against her right shoulder.

Eulalia staggered back, her face pale, her shoulder screaming in pain. Years of rigorous training and a high pain tolerance were the only things keeping her from collapsing. A normal person wouldn’t have survived that blow.

Eulalia pondered, 'It's no use. She's even stronger than before. How is that possible? I have to get out of here! This mission is a bust. I'm done with this assassin life! I can't let her take me. Suzanne shows no mercy. If she catches me, it's over!' Panic gripped Eulalia, and she turned to flee.

But escape was an illusion. Not from Suzanne. Not anymore. She was a force of nature, unstoppable.

"Running away?" Suzanne chuckled, effortlessly cutting off Eulalia's escape route. "Not so fast. You won't get away from me this time."

Eulalia was completely outmatched. Every attempt to evade was met with another punishing blow. Within two minutes, she lay defeated, her body battered and bruised.

"You've gotten stronger, Suzanne. And I... I haven't improved at all," she admitted, a bitter smile twisting her lips. "I lost. Fair and square."

Suzanne effortlessly scooped her up from the ground. "You did well, lasting two minutes against me. Be proud of that much." She turned to Skyview. "What shall we do with her?"
