Chapter 6: Resignation
"I can do whatever I want? But first, can you do me a favor?" Skyview's lips curled slightly, revealing a hint of a smirk.
"Yes!" Alice shyly nodded and leaned her head against Skyview's chest.
Suddenly, Skyview's expression changed. Staring at Alice with extreme coldness, he pointed into the distance and snapped, "Go away! You whore."
Alice trembled all over, looking at Skyview in horror. She finally realized Skyview was not the same as he was before; in the past, Skyview would do everything she told him to do.
"Skyview, I..." Alice wanted to rush up and hug Skyview.
"Lily, let's go! To Lakeview Express." Skyview quickly got into the car and closed the windows, indifferent to Alice's knocking on the window.
"Alright, Mr. Scott." Lily nodded slightly, started the car, and drove off into the distance.
Alice stood alone at the entrance of the Twin Towers, her eyes filled with regret and loss.
If she had known that Skyview would be a billionaire, why would she despise and abandon Skyview, and be with Pancay? Compared to Skyview, Pancay was not wealthy...
Meanwhile, Skyview arrived at Lakeview Express.
After delivering packages for so long, he decided to resign from his old job and report to the supervisor at Lakeview Express.
"Wait for me outside, I'll be right out," Skyview instructed, then walked in familiarly.
The office was small, with only a bookcase, a desk and chairs, a water dispenser and two potted plants. It couldn't even compare to the Twin Group's restroom.
Seeing Skyview walk in, the supervisor immediately put down his phone and looked up.
The supervisor appeared to be in his thirties, with a thick beard at the corner of his mouth, thick eyebrows, a pockmarked face, and even a foul smell emanating from his mouth when he smiled.
"Jordan Paul," Skyview said.
"Skyview, why haven't you been to work these past few days?" Jordan propped his legs up and lit a cigarette, with a faint smile on his face.
"Jordan, I want to resign." Skyview cut to the chase.
"Resign?" Jordan's face immediately showed a mocking expression.
When Skyview was hired, his resume was very impressive. With such a great resume, he could even apply for the regional manager instead of merely as a delivery man.
Since then, Jordan knew that Skyview must have fabricated his resume, but he didn't reject Skyview because their company was short-staffed at the time.
Skyview nodded affirmatively. "Yes, I want to quit this job. Since I have been absent for two days, you can deduct two day's salary."
With Jordan's character, he would definitely find ways to deduct Skyview's salary.
But it didn't matter, Skyview didn't care about those few hundred now.
"Skyview, you little trickster, it's time to figure out something with you." Jordan slammed the table, sternly saying, "Skyview! Do you think such a serious matter can be concealed for so long?"
"What's wrong?" Skyview was puzzled.
Jordan pulled out Skyview's resume from the desk and slammed it on the ground, angrily saying, "Fabricating a resume is illegal! How dare you?
"Skyview, when I first saw you, I thought you were honest, so I let you stay. But looking at your resume, it's all totally fake stuff.
"Graduated from Maplebrook Institute of Technology, multiple scholarships, rich team management experience; if you had these skills, you could have applied as a regional manager!"
Skyview laughed in anger. "I didn't fabricate it. If you don't believe me, you can check online."
"Check? It's so obvious, I don't need to check!" Jordan was confident, pointing at Skyview, threatening him. "You now have only two choices, either pay back all your previous salary and leave! Or I'll call the police and sue you!"
Jordan knew Skyview too well; he would always find ways to deduct delivery workers' salaries every month and pocket them.
If this money were returned, it would all go into Jordan's pocket.
"Why are you so quiet? Feeling guilty?" Jordan smirked triumphantly.
'If I can't extort a sum from you before you leave, I have wasted all these years as a supervisor!' Jordan thought.
Jordan's lips curled slightly, determined to deduct Skyview's salary today.
"Jordan! Is there a rule that graduates from Maplebrook Institute of Technology can't be delivery workers? Your knowledge is shallow, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist!" Skyview retorted warmly.
Jordan slammed the table again, knocking off the cigarette ash. "Are you calling me stupid? No matter what, I am a supervisor at Lakeview Express, and you? Just a delivery man, and you're trying to lecture me? Initially, I just wanted you to refund the money and end it, but since you're so ungrateful...
"I'll ask you one last time, will you refund this money?" Jordan's face darkened, questioning.
"No!" Skyview was also angry, it was the first time he had seen someone exploit subordinates so shamelessly.
"Alright! See you in court. Even if you kneel down and beg me now, you won't have a chance!" Jordan was furious.
'Beg you? As the chairman of Twin Group, would I beg you? What a joke.' Skyview thought with a smile.
Skyview didn't take the court thing seriously. Even though he wasn't clear about legal issues, his own lawyer, Amelia, would handle it well.
As soon as Skyview left the office, Jordan lit a cigarette and stood in the corridor.
When Jordan looked down, he saw Lily standing next to the Porsche, seemingly waiting for someone.
"Isn't that Lily, Hekka's secretary? Why is she at Lakeview Express? Could there be some instructions from the head company?" Jordan hurriedly put out the cigarette, tidying up as he ran.
As he descended the stairs, Jordan passed Skyview, daring to get ahead of him and arriving in front of Lily.
"Lily, why didn't you notify me when you arrived? I wasn't expecting it at all." Jordan's face was full of disgust.
"It's nothing; we are leaving soon," Lily said.
"Did the company send you down for an inspection?" Jordan bowed slightly, looking very pleasing.
Jordan quietly took out some money from his pocket and handed it to Lily. "I hope you can give me some compliments in front of Hekka. Whether I can be promoted to regional manager or not depends on you."
"What's wrong with you? You're blatantly bribing me; what a scumbag!" Lily said furiously.
Jordan was stunned. "Lily, Every time you would receive this money, why did you reject it today?"
Hearing this, Lily's expression changed again, looking gently at Skyview, who had just arrived, and explained, "Mr. Scott, actually..."
"No need to say more." Skyview waved his hand, not caring about this bribe thing at all.
"Mr. Scott?" Following Lily's gaze, Jordan saw Skyview walking toward them.
Skyview, Mr. Scott, could it be that Lily's Mr. Scott is him?
Jordan suddenly realized, shocked for a moment, his whole body tense and at a loss.
