Chapter 200 Put Them Down

At that moment, the head of security arrived, flanked by a dozen uniformed guards. Some even carried batons, a clear sign that this was not a force to be trifled with.

The Twin Group, being a corporation of considerable size, took security seriously. Each department had its own dedicated team, usually around a dozen strong.

The business department was no exception.

While these teams technically fell under the purview of the head of security, in practice, each department head had significant control over their own team. And Yosef, with the Davis family backing him, commanded respect even from the head of security himself.

The business department's security chief, Ulysses Green, was not a handsome man. What he lacked in looks, however, he made up for in brawn. He was a mountain of a man, and it was this physical presence that had secured him his position within the Twin Group.

The pay was good, the work relatively easy, and he had a dozen men at his beck and call. Life was good for Ulysses.

He'd made it his mission to stay in Yosef's good graces, reaping the benefits of their mutually beneficial relationship. Yosef looked out for him, and he, in turn, was always ready to return the favor.

Today was one such occasion.

Ulysses pushed his way through the crowd, his face a mask of concern. "Yosef, what happened? Who dared to lay a hand on you?"

He might have lacked formal education, his speech rough around the edges, but Ulysses was no fool. He knew exactly what had transpired, and he knew what Yosef expected of him.

"It was her, Ulysses, that Willow!" Yosef said, pointing a trembling finger at her. "She barged into my office, demanding a promotion and a raise. When I refused, she tried to seduce me! But I, Yosef, am a man of principle! I rejected her advances, and she attacked me in a fit of rage!"

He clutched his groin dramatically, feigning immense pain.

Ulysses, stifling a laugh, knew exactly what had happened. Yosef had tried his usual tricks and gotten what he deserved.

"There, there, Yosef," he said, patting his shoulder with feigned sympathy. "Women, eh? What can you do?"

"Arrest her, Ulysses!" Yosef hissed, a malicious glint in his eyes. "Interrogate her, teach her a lesson, then hand her over to the authorities! This is assault, aggravated assault! I want her in jail!"

The message was clear. Rough her up, teach her a lesson, and he'd look the other way. How Ulysses chose to interpret "rough her up" was entirely up to him.

His gaze fell on Willow, and a predatory grin spread across his face.

He thought, 'Tormenting a beautiful woman? Now, that's something I can't get behind.'

He chuckled, a sound that sent shivers down Willow's spine. "Well, well, Willow, you've really stepped in it this time. Assaulting your superior? You're coming with me. We need to have a little chat, maybe conduct a little search."

The guards behind him, cut from the same cloth as their leader, began to close in. Any decent men among them had long been driven away by Ulysses, leaving only a pack of thugs in uniform.

And they had just been given free rein to manhandle a beautiful woman.

Willow's face paled. This wasn't security; it was a pack of wolves closing in for the kill.

"What do you think you're doing?" she shouted, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and anger.

"Get lost!"

"What does it look like, sweetheart?" Ulysses chuckled, taking a menacing step towards her. "We're going to have some fun."

"Get away from her!" Lily roared, her patience at an end.

But Ulysses simply ignored her, his eyes fixed on Willow. He advanced slowly, savoring her fear.

"Ulysses!" Lily shouted again, her voice laced with fury. "She's an employee of this company! Stand down, now!"

"Sorry, Lily," Ulysses said, his tone mocking. "My loyalty lies with Mr. Brooks. Your orders mean nothing to me."

He believed in the power behind Yosef, the power of the Davis family, and he wasn't about to show Lily even a shred of respect.

Lily's fury reached boiling point.

But she wasn't the only one.

Skyview had seen enough. The Twin Group was rotten to its core, infested with these petty tyrants. If this was allowed to continue, the company wouldn't survive.

He turned to Suzanne, his voice cold and dangerous. "Suzanne, 100 thousand dollars. Put them all down. And I mean all of them."

Suzanne's lips curled into a cruel smile. "They're lucky we're in Golden Valley," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "Otherwise, they'd be dead by now."
