Chapter 164 Truth and Falsehood

A knowing smile spread across Benjamin's face. A realization had dawned on him.

He'd been in the business long enough to recognize a charade when he saw one. Before, Skyview's statements might be considered astute observations, but now, with Golden Valley Bank's sudden "system breach", it was glaringly obvious: Boring was a fabrication.

Benjamin chuckled softly, a wave of relief washing over him. There were no such fools in the world, not really.

Penguin Company had thrived for years without encountering such naivety. If Shark Live had stumbled upon such an imbecile, it would be almost comical.

Two hundred dollars as a tip to a streamer was pushing it, in Benjamin's opinion.

He thought, 'Two hundred million? Unfathomable!

'Two hundred million could finance a blockbuster film, attracting A-list celebrities. Who in their right mind would squander it on a streamer?

'This news, however, is music to Penguin Company.'

"Hilda, this situation is looking sketchy!" Skyview quipped, "That Boring your Shark platform has been hyping seems a bit fishy, doesn't it? Are you guys proving that old saying true—that those who love to boast end up with nothing?""No way it's fake!" Hilda felt a wave of dizziness. "It's just a glitch in the banking system! Just a glitch!"

Hilda couldn't bear to think how embarrassing it would be if Boring turned out to be a fraud, especially after pitching such a hefty sum to Penguin Company.

"Boring can't be fake, Hilda! Don't let Skyview's nonsense get to you. Golden Valley Bank, where this happened, is known for glitches!"

"Hilda, delays with transferring 200 ,illion are understandable! Boring is definitely legit!"

"Hilda, this has got to be Skyview's scheme. Don't let it bother you!"

Hilda's team rallied around him, each trying to reassure him in their own way.

Skyview, however, was relentless. "Still clinging to denial? Fine, I'll show you the cold, hard truth. Lily, my laptop, please."

"Right away, Mr. Scott," Lily responded, retrieving the laptop and handing it to him.

Skyview swiftly typed in a URL.

The homepage of Golden Valley's most notorious hacker forum filled the screen.

"I trust you both recognize this website, being titans of the internet yourselves."

Benjamin and Hilda, prompted by their assistants, accessed the website on their own laptops.

"Now, direct your attention to the top post.

"You assumed Boring was a fool with more money than sense. But it stands for something else entirely: a hacker. You see, in this scenario, you're the fools."

Skyview couldn't help but chuckle. This was all part of his plan.

Benjamin and Hilda scanned the post, their expressions shifting with each passing line.

The post detailed, in meticulous detail, how Boring had exploited a loophole to generate the 200 million and shower the streamer with gifts.

It even included a specific line of code, exposing the vulnerability in Shark Live's recharge system.

Benjamin threw back his head and roared with laughter.

"Hilda, I never imagined your 'super-rich' benefactor was a hacker all along! We thought he was a fool, but the joke's on you! This is the most entertaining thing I've witnessed all year!"

Hilda's face was ashen. This was a disaster of epic proportions.

He'd made a complete and utter fool of himself.

And to add insult to injury, some malicious soul had exposed the vulnerability for all to see, inviting hackers to wreak havoc on Shark Live. Their platform was a laughingstock. What was it worth now?

"Impossible!" Hilda choked out, his eyes bloodshot. "This can't be happening!"
