Chapter 70 Debt Collection from the Bank

"It turns out you're John's grandson!" Skyview exclaimed, looking at Hilda with sudden realization. "Idiot, what do you want to say?"

Hekka burst out laughing.

The board members couldn't help but chuckle.

Hilda's face turned sour. He couldn't hold back and was about to curse.

However, John interrupted Hilda directly, saying, "There's no need to argue with someone who lacks manners; otherwise, it just makes you look uncultured too."

"Yes, Grandpa," Hilda said through gritted teeth, deciding to endure it.

Skyview said, "Idiot, go ahead! What insights do you have?"

Hilda pretended not to hear the "idiot" remark and said calmly, "According to my investigation, recently, Skyview, you've been buying and renting low-value land extensively, almost draining Lakeview Express's cash flow. After the compensation for the lost packages, Lakeview Express's cash reserves are nearly depleted, to the point where they can't even pay the employees' salaries the next month. Is this true?"

"Yes!" Skyview replied, "Lakeview Express doesn't have much money right now! But this is all part of normal business expansion. There is nothing wrong with that!"

"This is not normal. Lakeview Express is a courier company, and you're recklessly squandering its funds. I even suspect you're embezzling the money from the company!" Hilda said, "So, even though you handled the public relations crisis and resolved the lost packages issue, Lakeview Express is about to go bankrupt."

Skyview calmly said, "That's none of your concern. Lakeview Express will soon be back on its feet!"

Hilda shook his head and said, "No! Lakeview Express won't just make a comeback. It will go bankrupt soon! And you, Skyview, are the main culprit for Lakeview Express's downfall!"

"Idiot, what nonsense are you talking about?" Skyview sneered. "Lakeview Express is doing just fine. It won't go bankrupt."

Hilda's expression turned cold. "Because Lakeview Express owes the bank a huge sum of money, and the bank is about to demand repayment! These two are business managers from Heavencrest Bank. After learning about Lakeview Express's situation, they decided, on my suggestion, to demand early repayment! Your cash flow is cut off, and you just can't pay it. Lakeview Express is bound to go bankrupt. Skyview, you're too incompetent. Step down from your position as the chairman."

Upon hearing this breaking news, all the board members were shocked.

"Although Skyview resolved the public relations crisis and the lost packages issue, Lakeview Express has been poorly managed. Heavencrest Bank had been lenient because of the Twin Group, allowing Lakeview Express to barely survive.

"But they don’t have faith in Lakeview Express now, and they only want their money back. Lakeview Express is bound to go bankrupt! Skyview's efforts are in vain!"

"I heard that Heavencrest Bank's president, Michael Brooks, has been John's long-time friend. No matter how Skyview struggles, it's useless. No wonder John was willing to bet 15 million dollars with Skyview. He directly used Heavencrest Bank to crush Lakeview Express's cash flow. Skyview has completely lost!"

"Is this the grandson of John, who studied at an Ivy League school? Truly impressive and talented! Even if John takes over as chairman, he won't be able to hold the position for long due to his age. This means Hilda is likely to be our future chairman of the Twin Group. Should we start building a good relationship with Hilda now?"

The board members were all very shrewd.

They quickly saw through John's tactics.

Lakeview Express was already poorly managed and had a very tight cash flow, but it survived only because of the Twin Group. Heavencrest Bank set a long-term repayment date and lowered the interest rates, allowing Lakeview Express to stay afloat.

Contrary to everyone's expectations, Heavencrest Bank was John's unexpected move!

No matter what efforts Skyview made, it was impossible to make Lakeview Express's already tight cash flow sufficient. As soon as Heavencrest Bank demanded repayment, Lakeview Express would go bankrupt!

Sacrificing an unimportant Lakeview Express to take down Skyview and seize the chairman's position was a huge win for John!

Previously, some people had mocked John for betting with Skyview. Now, they understood John's tactics. 'No wonder John was the second-in-command of the Twin Group even when Dylan was alive! This is a harsh and delicate move. Skyview is doomed!' they thought.

"Skyview, Lakeview Express owes Heavencrest Bank a total of $500 million. This debt was supposed to be repaid in June this year, but due to your poor management, we lost our confidence in your company's future! Now, Lakeview Express must repay the money. If you don't, our bank will go to court to auction off Lakeview Express's assets to cover the debt!" said a female staff member from Heavencrest Bank.

"As far as I know, the repayment date is still a long way off. Why should I need to repay you right now?" Skyview muttered.

'Heavencrest Bank is being unreasonable!' He felt wronged.

"What did you say?" The female staff member seemed to have heard Skyview and looked at him in surprise.

"I said—what's your name?" Skyview changed the subject.

"I'm Emily Foster, a business manager at Heavencrest Bank," the female staff member replied.

Skyview smiled and said, "Recently, Lakeview Express's cash flow has been a bit tight. Can we delay the repayment for a while? I promise I'll repay the money!"

"Impossible!" Emily said coldly and mercilessly, "You must repay the money!"

Skyview asked, "Can I just pay the interest?"

Emily replied, "No!"

Skyview said resentfully, "Do you have to be so heartless?"

Emily frowned and said, "Mr. Scott, please stop fooling around. You need to repay the money right now. If you can't, then shut down Lakeview Express. The fixed assets of Lakeview Express are enough to cover the debt."

Skyview sighed. "I thought Heavencrest Bank would be a great partner, and I wanted to make more deals with you. Unfortunately, you won't give me that chance! You'll never know what you're missing out on, and you'll regret it!"
