Chapter 56 The Thief Caught
Being a courier at the lower level was not easy. Even today, courier services were not highly profitable but belong to the realm of cheap labor, a dense low-end industry.
Although the overall treatment was slightly better than working in a factory, the couriers had to endure all kinds of weather to earn a meager salary, which was not easy!
The couriers were all complaining about losing money and feeling anxious. Many of them thought that if Lakeview Express went down, they would lose the hard-earned jobs they had found. Jobs are not easy to come by now, and finding a job with good benefits like Lakeview Express is even more challenging!
Seeing the hardships of the couriers, Suzanne found the thief despicable!
She was determined to catch this thief and bring couriers justice!
Andrew was originally confident in running away.
He abandoned the electric bike and resorted to running, aiming to reach some rugged terrain. Driving on the main roads would make it too easy to be caught!
They arrived at an abandoned residential courtyard.
Andrew swiftly climbed the wall like a gecko and landed in the yard.
Only then did Andrew breathe a sigh of relief. He had hidden so discreetly that he should have shaken off the expert who posed as a courier.
"No matter how skilled you are, you can't catch me!" Andrew smugly muttered to himself.
However, in the next second, he was dumbfounded.
Suzanne had stealthily appeared in front of him without a sound.
"I told you, you can't escape!" Suzanne said coldly, without a hint of redness or breathlessness.
Andrew's face changed drastically.
"How is this possible?" he exclaimed. "Where did you come out? That didn't make sense!"
Suzanne replied, "Nothing is impossible. The terrorists I hunted down in the past were much more cunning than you. They were good at escaping, yet they all fell into my hands. Your little tricks can't fool me."
Andrew sensed a unique aura from Suzanne!
It was the aura of a soldier!
Resolute! Unyielding! Fearless!
"Are you a soldier?" Andrew widened his eyes and asked.
Suzanne replied, "I used to be."
Andrew said, "No wonder. No matter how skilled a thief is, they can't compare to the experts in your military. After all, you are the elite carefully selected by the nation, while I am just a civilian! This time, I was careless. I admit defeat!" He smiled bitterly.
Suzanne calmly said, "Surrender."
"Let me go this time." Andrew took out a bank card and said, "There is 200 thousand dollars dollars in this card, you can have it. If you take the money, let me go once, deal?"
Andrew was frightened by Suzanne's strength and preferred to buy safety with money.
If it were another one, Andrew might have been able to escape by bribing them.
But Suzanne was different.
Although Suzanne needed money, she didn't value it highly.
Selling her conscience for money was something Suzanne couldn't do.
Otherwise, her skills would have enabled her to amass wealth long ago and not need to work as a bodyguard for Skyview.
No matter what, she couldn't betray her conscience.
"Do you really want me to take action?" Suzanne said coldly. "Your money can't buy me!"
"Are you determined to corner me?" Andrew squinted, his tone icy.
"I intend to bring you to justice!" Suzanne said.
"Then go to hell!" Andrew said, pulling out a gun.
It was a browning pistol made of ivory, delicated yet powerful.
"Die!" Andrew's eyes revealed a cruel intent.
He pressed the trigger.
However, Andrew didn't fire the shot.
The bullet wasn't fired by him, but by Suzanne.
In Suzanne's hand, she held a Type 92 semi-automatic pistol.
This pistol was very classic.
Suzanne, a former military champion, treated the gun as her third hand, always by her side. Even though Suzanne had left the army, she still had her gun license, so she carried her gun all day.
Suzanne's gun skill was superior to Andrew's.
Suzanne directly shot Andrew's right hand, knocking the gun out of his hand.
Andrew was in excruciating pain, blood trickling from his hand. The bullet pierced through his palm. Unlike in movies where a bullet piercing the body left a small hole, in reality, a bullet could create a large hole. At that moment of his hand being pierced, Andrew knew he was doomed.
Being a thief required a nimble hand.
"One day, I will be arrested. I had seen this coming. I never thought that when I stole gold and silver jewelry, property deeds, antiques, and confidential documents, I would never have any issues. Now, stealing a few packages has sealed my fate!"
Andrew lay on the ground, mumbling, "I surrender!"
"The law will punish you, but before that, I will take you to meet someone!" Suzanne said.
"Are you an expert hired by the authorities of Lakeview Express?" Andrew couldn't help but ask.
"Close enough," Suzanne replied.
"How much did he pay you?" Andrew asked.
"Two thousand dollars," Suzanne replied.
"What?" Andrew exclaimed indignantly, "I'm only worth two grand?"
Suzanne glanced mockingly at Andrew and said, "You were never worth much."
Andrew retorted, "I offer you a 200 thousand dollars and you refuse, but you obey someone's command for two grand, are you stupid?"
"The stupid one is you!" Suzanne said coldly, waving her hand to knock Andrew unconscious.
Suzanne then quickly bandaged Andrew and carried him on her shoulder, headed towards Lakeview Express Company.
For Suzanne, catching this thief was a piece of cake, insignificant.
The elite thief Andrew, who had been arrogant for over a decade, was caught!
