Chapter 234 The Romance at Tranquil Haven Resort & Spa

Kaelen scanned the room, eyes sharp. "Who’s this idiot you’re talking about?" he asked, disbelief dripping from his voice. He couldn’t wrap his head around anyone being dumb enough to drop two hundred million on a twenty-dollar USB drive. Kaelen had taken the bet because he was sure no such idiot existed.

"The idiot," Skyview drawled with a sly grin, "is you, Kaelen. You’re the one who’s gonna pay two hundred million for this drive."

Kaelen’s face darkened. "Are you messing with me?"

Skyview widened his eyes, playing innocent. "Why would you think that?"

Fury surged through Kaelen. He wanted to wipe that smug grin off Skyview’s face with his fist, but Suzanne’s presence was a constant, unwelcome reminder.

"I’m dead serious," Skyview continued, his tone turning serious. "You are the only one who’d pay that kind of money for this drive."

"Even if I were nuts, I wouldn’t blow two hundred million on that!" Kaelen spat.

"Oh, you will," Skyview countered, his eyes gleaming with a strange intensity. "And I’m sure of it."

Kaelen scoffed. "Really? What makes you so sure? Enlighten me."

Skyview leaned forward, his voice a low murmur. "Tranquil Haven Resort & Spa. Calix."

Kaelen froze, his blood turning to ice. A wave of anger washed over him, leaving him trembling. "What are you talking about?" he stammered, his composure cracking. "I don’t get it!"

Skyview’s smile was almost predatory. "Don’t worry, I’ll jog your memory. One boring afternoon, you were looking for entertainment. A guy named Calix."

Skyview’s voice took on a crude, almost gleeful tone as he described that day, his words painting a graphic picture like he’d seen it all himself.Willow cringed, not expecting to hear this. Calliope felt a blush creep up her neck. She tried to ignore Skyview’s stories, but his words were so vivid that even she started to believe him.

Nicholas felt a surge of anger. He had no idea about this side of Kaelen. While he couldn’t be sure if Skyview was telling the truth, Kaelen’s reaction spoke volumes.

Oliver, however, was intrigued. He looked at Kaelen with something like amusement. "Now that’s what I call adventurous!" he exclaimed, giving Kaelen a thumbs-up.

"Enough!" Kaelen roared, slamming his hand on the table. His face was twisted with rage.

Skyview chuckled. "Don’t interrupt me. I’m just reminiscing about your passionate encounter with Calix."

Kaelen glared at him, teeth gritted. "Don’t push your luck, Skyview."

"Am I?" Skyview’s voice was laced with amusement. "I don’t think so. You see, that USB drive? It’s got a little memento of your time with Calix. A video, to be precise. Quite explicit, I might add."

"Impossible!" Kaelen cried, panic creeping into his voice. "I swept the room, checked every crevice, every charging port! There were no cameras! Are you bluffing?"

In his desperation, Kaelen had inadvertently revealed the truth. Panic tightened its grip on him. He had walked right into Skyview’s trap.
