Chapter 197 Girlfriend

Golden Isle City, the heart of the Twin Group.

Skyview woke with a dull throb in his head. Hanging out with Oliver, he'd learned the true meaning of "live fast, die young."

To Skyview, money, it seemed, really could buy happiness.

Especially when Oliver, a known figure in the entertainment scene, had connections. One of his exes, a minor celebrity he'd discarded when she bored him, was just the tip of the iceberg.

This time, Oliver had outdone himself, providing two actresses for Skyview's entertainment. They weren't A-listers, usually relegated to supporting roles in popular dramas, but their beauty often eclipsed the leads.

After all, big stars relied on being striking, not conventionally beautiful. Having distinctive features made it easier for the audience to remember them.

What Skyview found amusing was Oliver's peculiar preference for internet celebrities. Where that bizarre taste originated, no one knew.

Oliver's hospitality had been thorough. Skyview had enjoyed himself immensely, but the price was a distinct lack of energy the following day.

"That was quite the blow you dealt the Davis family, Skyview," Hekka remarked, observing Skyview's weary state. "I don't typically interfere in your personal life, but moderation is key. Oliver doesn't exactly have the best reputation, and I'd hate to see you led astray."

"Just a rare indulgence," Skyview mumbled, stifling a yawn. "A little victory celebration, nothing more. I know my limits, I won't let it become a habit. I have bigger ambitions."

"Good," Hekka nodded, relieved. "Just making sure."

"How are things with the Davis family?" Skyview inquired.

"In shambles," Hekka replied with a satisfied smile.

"Details, please."

"They're scrambling, trying to lobby anyone who'll listen to lift the sanctions on Shark Live. Fat chance of that happening. This crackdown on the live streaming industry came from the very top. The Davis family's influence only goes so far," Hekka said, a hint of mockery in her tone.

Her gaze, however, held a newfound respect for Skyview.

After Dylan's deathbed request, Hekka had done her due diligence on Skyview. Despite a thorough background check and a belief in his potential, she'd harbored doubts about his ability to truly fill Dylan's shoes.

It wasn't until Skyview deftly handled the Lakeview Express crisis, earning Erin's praise, that Hekka's confidence solidified.

And now, after Lakeview Express, he'd struck at the heart of the Davis family's empire, leaving Hilda reeling and Shark Live on the brink of collapse.

This was a man of action, a man of ambition.

In the cutthroat world of business, only the ambitious thrived. It was a battlefield where ruthlessness and capability went hand in hand.

Skyview possessed both, marking him as a worthy successor.

Hekka was content.

As for his escapades with Oliver, Hekka considered them trivial. As long as they didn't interfere with business, a little indulgence was good for the soul.

"The Davis family hasn't retaliated, have they?" Skyview asked, a hint of eagerness in his voice.

He yearned to crush them completely.

Treaties were for the weak. The strong made their own rules.

"They're wary of you now, Skyview. John's tone is noticeably more respectful. You crippled one of their key sources of income, they're afraid," Hekka stated. "For the foreseeable future, I believe we'll have a peaceful coexistence."

"Good," Skyview chuckled. "Nothing like a little fear to keep your enemies in line."

"You understand the art of war," Hekka said, observing his exhaustion. "Still, I suggest some rest. Health is paramount."

"No time," Skyview grinned, suddenly energized. "I have a very important matter to attend to."

"And that is?" Hekka raised an eyebrow.

"Winning over a certain someone," Skyview announced, eyes gleaming. "Love is the best motivator. Forget rest, let's find some flowers!"

Hekka sighed. "Willow, I presume?"

"Bingo!" Skyview snapped his fingers. "Lily, order 990 roses, will you?"

Lily rolled her eyes but indulged him, reaching for her phone to call the florist.

"Let's do this," Skyview said, straightening his clothes. "Time to get myself a girlfriend."

"In your dreams," Suzanne snorted.

"Never underestimate my charm," Skyview retorted confidently.

"The delusion is strong with this one," Lily commented.

"Your self-confidence is astounding," Hekka added, shaking her head with a smile.

Ignoring their teasing, Skyview strode towards the Twin Group's business department, a man on a mission.
