Chapter 61 Tensions
Skyview's face darkened.
He had thought that with solid evidence, he could pressure Skyler into handing over Jack.
But Skyler was adamant about shielding Jack, showing no respect for Skyview at all.
Skyview had already shown enough deference, but Skyler was making a mockery of him.
Skyview couldn't help thinking, 'Leaving the country?
'It had only been a day, and even applying for a visa to Islamabad Heights, Golden Valley's closest ally, wouldn't be that quick.
'Jack leaving the country overnight? That's impossible.'
After a deliberate consideration, Skyview's gaze turned cold.
"Mr. Everett, this is beyond shameless!" Skyview said coldly.
Skyler's anger flared. "Skyview, watch your tone! I've built everything from scratch. No one insults me!"
Skyview retorted, "And you think you can insult me?"
Skyler replied smugly, "I didn't insult you. Do you want me to hand over Jack? I'm not his keeper. Jack's a grown man. If he ran off, that's on him. If you do want him, find him yourself. Making a scene in my home—is that your idea of respect?"
Skyview's voice was deadly calm. "Are you looking for a fight?"
Skyler's voice was firm. "I may not fight often, but I'm never afraid of one. Do you think I'm weak?"
The tension in the room rose as they argued.
Skyler's men were visibly nervous.
But the Crimson Shadows' guys looked indifferent, even eager for action.
"Skyler, who's causing trouble here?" A young man emerged from the guest room, standing protectively in front of Skyler. "Let me handle this."
Skyler relaxed at the sight of him. "Chloe, you're just in time. Some arrogant fool is giving me trouble. With you here, I feel reassured."
Chloe was clearly Skyler's trusted enforcer.
Skyview and his men eyed Chloe.
With his short hair, tall and muscular build, and a pitch-black suit, Chloe exuded menace. His high temples, sharp eyes, and calloused fists marked him as a seasoned fighter.
Skyler always had the best bodyguards.
Chloe was his top man.
"Are you the one causing trouble?" Chloe asked, his tone dripping with arrogance as he looked down at Skyview.
Skyview knew that despite his arrogance, he was no match for Chloe.
Chloe's level of confidence was something Skyview couldn't match.
"Who are you?" Skyview asked.
"I'm the ten-time champion of the North American Underground Boxing Ring, an elite from Mountain Training Camp. I was undefeated in a hundred matches! You are nothing but trash to me," Chloe said proudly.
"I'll give you ten seconds to get out of Skyler's villa, or I'll break every bone in your body."
Skyview recognized Chloe's reputation and immediately hid behind Suzanne.
'A man hiding behind a woman in the face of danger?' Everyone was shocked by Skyview's shamelessness.
Even Chloe was stunned and stopped counting.
"Suzanne, are you scared?" Skyview asked. "This guy's a top fighter from Mountain Training Camp, an underground boxing champion. If you can't take him, we have to retreat."
Skyview always knew what was the right thing to do. If Suzanne couldn't handle Chloe, it was better to back down. There was no shame in that.
"Don’t worry," Suzanne said calmly, " Mountain Training Camp? Come on! He is merely an underground boxing champ. What's the big deal?"
Suzanne's confidence reassured Skyview.
He smiled. "Suzanne, you're amazing."
Suzanne glared at Chloe with an indifferent expression.
"A man is hiding behind a woman," Chloe said disdainfully.
"I don't go easy on women. I even hit them harder."
Skyview asked seriously, "Before the fight starts, let me ask you, do you play games?"
Chloe looked puzzled. "What games?"
"Like World of Warcraft or something."
Chloe smirked. "I've played Tetris."
Skyview sighed. "We have no common ground. But in games or movies, if you want to fight the boss, you have to beat the minions first, right?"
"Seems that way," Chloe agreed. "To beat you, I need to take down all your subordinates first!"
Skyview pointed at Suzanne. "Do you know who she is?"
"How would I know? Is she famous?" Chloe scoffed.
"She's my secretary, the least capable fighter by my side. If you can't even beat her, you're not qualified to fight me."
Chloe's eyes narrowed. "So you're not leaving?"
Skyview chuckled. "I might be nervous, but I'm not scared."
"Then you're asking for death!" Chloe said coldly, "I don't go easy on women. Skyler treats me well, and you dared to offend him today. You're going to pay for that!"
With that, Chloe didn't hesitate and threw a punch at Suzanne.
His punch was a perfect blend of speed, power, and precision.
"Chloe, don't be too harsh. Just teach Mr. Scott a lesson. Let him understand my power," Skyler said, feigning kindness.
