Chapter 240 Game Rules
"Thought you two lovebirds were gonna stay up there all night!" Tiberius shouted from the crowd, a playful twinkle in his eye. "You kids have no shame!"
Skyview, spotting the famous actor, felt a rush of excitement. Tiberius was a legend, someone he'd looked up to for years. "Tiberius," he said, his voice full of respect, "could you sign this certificate for me? I'm a huge fan."
Tiberius chuckled, taking the certificate with a wink. As he signed, he leaned in close. "You know, your Twin Group has that film company," he murmured. "If you're ever looking to invest, give me a call. Here's my private number." He slipped a discreet business card into Skyview's hand.
Even now, Tiberius was a master at spotting opportunities, always ready to connect with a potential investor. "Here's mine," Skyview said, grinning as they exchanged cards.
The film industry in Golden Valley was booming, a goldmine for smart investors. If Skyview was going to inherit the Twin Group, their film company would be a key asset. Building relationships with industry giants like Tiberius was crucial.
With business wrapped up, Skyview led a blushing Willow off the stage. She seemed to have fully embraced the role of his girlfriend, her shyness only adding to her charm.
Suddenly, Skyview found himself the center of attention. Wealthy socialites and celebrities were all vying for his attention, eager to bask in the glow of his generosity.
'Should've brought Hekka,' he thought, feeling a bit overwhelmed. 'This is a lot.'
Meanwhile, miles away, Kaelen sat there, silently smoking. His assistant knew the signs. He'd only seen Kaelen like this once before, after securing the ApexTech deal that launched WealthWave into Skyscape City. Back then, it had been a celebration. Now, it was pure rage.
Kaelen had left the Brighter Futures Ball to avoid causing a scene. He needed the open road, the vastness of the ocean under the night sky, to calm the storm inside him. Finally, he stubbed out his cigarette. "Did you get it?" he asked, his voice dangerously low.
"Yes," the assistant confirmed. "The drive is secure."
"And the two hundred million?"
"Transferred," the assistant replied. "Though I still don't get why we didn't just acquire it. Hire some pros."
Kaelen sighed. "You don't get the rules of this game. The Brighter Futures Ball is backed by serious players, powerful people. We make a move like that, we risk everything. I'd never operate in Golden Valley again. Even Evalia can't afford to lose this market. It'd be the end of my career."
The assistant nodded, chastened. "Right."
"What about Skyview?" Kaelen asked, his voice tight. "How's he taking all this?"
The assistant hesitated. "Pleased with himself, sir. Very much so."
Kaelen smirked, a cold, cruel expression. "Good. The higher they climb, the harder they fall. Contact Hilda. And find me Silent Strike. I want Skyview dealt with. Permanently."
"But sir," the assistant stammered, "that's... that's murder. Golden Valley won't..."
"Skyview's a nobody," Kaelen interrupted, his voice like ice. "No powerful family, no real connections. Yet. This is the time to strike. Once he gets his hooks into the Twin Group, it'll be too late." He leaned back, his eyes cold and calculating. "No," he murmured, "Skyview's moment in the sun is over."
