Chapter 289 Collaboration
Two billion bucks? That was chump change for Erin; she could easily swing it. But being able to give didn't mean being willing. The world valued fair exchange; no one wanted to waste money.
Hekka was dead set on selling Lakeview Express to Erin for eight billion, hoping to push ApexTech Group into a corner, making them cough up the cash.
Hekka's game plan was to force ApexTech Group to buy Lakeview Express at a jacked-up price. Kaelen, totally getting the game, said with a smirk, "Didn't see Skyview asking for such a crazy amount. Sure, I could call another board meeting to vote and drop the price, but you can't keep playing that card."
Erin shot back, "Seven billion? I'd rather just start my own company."
Kaelen grinned. "I'll make up the difference!"
Erin was taken aback. "You'll cover it? How?"
Kaelen promised, "Isn't WealthWave hitting roadblocks? I'll use my family's political muscle to clear the way for you!"
The Darkmoon family had a bunch of politicians in their pocket and a ton of influence. If they threw their weight around, they could definitely help Erin sort out WealthWave's issues. This was a big deal for ApexTech Group, which was itching to go global.
Economic growth and politics were intertwined. Erin, being sharp about global politics, knew just how powerful the Darkmoon family was. With their full support, WealthWave's problems would be a piece of cake.
"Your promise is worth more than two billion!" Erin said with a grin, "With your promise, I'll pay an extra two billion. But Skyview's the real winner here. Aren't you getting the short end of the stick?"
"No way!" Kaelen shot back. "Once WealthWave breaks into Altalia, you'll have the backing of the four big families of Skyscape City and the people of Altalia. We'll dominate Altalia's economy, and the returns will be massive! Plus, whatever Skyview gains now, I'll make sure he pay it back later. I'm in no rush!"
Erin smiled slightly. She didn't care about the beef between Kaelen and Skyview; she just needed to know she wouldn't lose out. Trading two billion for control over Altalia's financial market was a no-brainer!
Meanwhile, in Hekka's office, she was knee-deep in an investigation. Her team was digging into the actions of various board members and Kaelen's recent moves. Kaelen's surprise visit to the Twin Group had Hekka feeling uneasy, worried she might be losing her grip on the situation.
