Chapter 180 Turning the Table

Benjamin's patience was wearing thin.

He had been polite, even subtle, but Skyview and Oliver were pushing their luck.

If that was how they wanted to play it, then he wouldn't hold back.

He was a high-ranking executive at Penguin Company, a trusted confidant of Adam. Excessive humility was unbecoming of his position.

"That's enough," Benjamin stated coldly. "Both of you need to leave. There's nothing for you here but embarrassment. If you continue this charade, you'll be the laughingstock of the industry."

His team, who had remained respectful throughout, mirrored his growing annoyance.

Skyview simply smiled, unfazed by Benjamin's change in demeanor. "The real joke would be Penguin Company acquiring Shark Live. Have you forgotten about the 'Boring' incident? It's far from over. If serious problems plague Shark Live at this juncture, would acquiring them still be a wise investment?"

Benjamin's face hardened. He couldn't shake the feeling that Skyview was behind the 'Boring' incident, even though there was no concrete evidence. "What are you implying, Skyview?"

Hilda shot Skyview a venomous look. "I knew you were behind the 'Boring' incident! If I ever find proof, you'll regret the day you were born!"

Skyview threw his head back and laughed. "I am Boring, Boring is me! Believe it or not, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. You can't just slander me without evidence. I could sue you for defamation."

"Get out!" Hilda roared. "Both of you, get out! You're not welcome here!"

"We'll leave eventually," Skyview said, his voice laced with amusement. "But not before we give you a little something, Hilda. Consider it a parting gift."

"What are you talking about?" Hilda's gut twisted with unease.

Skyview's laughter echoed through the room. "Congratulations, Hilda! You're famous! Shark Live is famous! Your streamers are all famous! From this day forward, you and Shark Live will be the talk of the town. In fact, you're already trending on Twitter! No need to thank me. It's my pleasure." He turned his phone towards Hilda and Benjamin, giving them a glimpse of the screen.

Oliver chuckled. "Congratulations indeed, Hilda. You've finally made it to the big leagues."

Hilda's face paled. "What have you done?"

"Something's wrong!" One of Hilda's more astute subordinates exclaimed, his eyes glued to his phone. "Check Twitter! Something big is happening!"

The look of panic on his employee's face sent a chill down Hilda's spine. He quickly pulled out his phone and navigated to Twitter.

Twitter was a behemoth, a platform where information spread like wildfire. Any news that gained traction there would quickly dominate the online world.

With a trending topic, public opinion could be swayed in an instant.

And Skyview and Oliver had spared no expense, pouring a small fortune into buying every trending spot.

It was a price they were willing to pay to see Shark Live burn.

The top ten trending topics on Twitter were all related to streamers, with Shark Live being at the center of it all.

The conference room buzzed with activity as everyone scrambled to check their phones.

The sudden shift in public opinion was shocking, a testament to the raw power of money.

The Twin Group controlled a vast media empire, with influence over 97 media outlets through cross-ownership and strategic partnerships.

The Cascade Group, with its media company and recent acquisition of a Hollywood film studio, controlled a staggering 152 media outlets.

While individually, they couldn't match the reach of ApexTech Group or Penguin Company, together, they were a force to be reckoned with.

And Skyview and Oliver had unleashed that force, their money paving the way for a nationwide media frenzy.

Within minutes, scandals from the live streaming industry flooded the internet, amplified by traditional media outlets with ties to the Cascade Group and the Twin Group.
