Chapter 293 Choosing a Company

Right now, Skyview was backed into a corner. There was no room for fear! Showing fear would mean showing weakness, basically admitting Kaelen was better. Plus, if fear took over, the board members who were backing Skyview might start to doubt him.

Skyview couldn't be scared. He wouldn't be scared, either. Skyview said coolly, "I accept the challenge!"

"Good, you've got guts!" Kaelen said with a smug grin. "Then it's settled. Everyone here will be witnesses, and we'll also put it in writing so no one can back out."

As Kaelen spoke, he held out his hand. Bridgette handed him a document. Kaelen placed it on the table in front of Skyview.

Skyview glanced at the document and said, "This document isn't legally binding!"

Kaelen shrugged. "It doesn't need to be. It's just a record, a piece of evidence. I'm sure both you and I are people who keep our word. This written record is enough. If the losing party tries to cling to the chairman's role and cause problems, the board members, being reasonable, won't stand for it."

Kaelen was subtly mocking Skyview, taking little jabs. While he couldn't go after Skyview directly right now, he enjoyed belittling him.

"Skyscape City is a backwater, full of savages, not civilized people!" Skyview shot back coldly. "I'm just worried some of these brutes won't own up!"

Kaelen wanted to snap back at Skyview, but remembering Skyview's knack for insults, he hesitated and scoffed, "I won't stoop to arguing with someone so uncivilized."

"Fine, I don't have time for you," Skyview said, picking up the document and signing his name. "This record will stay with the board. After the three tests, it will be reviewed. If anyone denies it, we'll see what happens!"

"Okay!" Kaelen said, "But time is money, and there's no time to waste. Shall we start the first round of testing?"

Skyview smirked and said, "Okay."

Kaelen turned to John and said, "When it comes to knowing the ins and outs of Twin Group, no one beats its Vice President. John, you came up with this test, so I'm sure you're ready. You must know all about Twin Group's subsidiaries."

John nodded with a smile. I'm ready and I've got a full report. Let me show you." He then took out a USB drive, plugged it into the projector, and started showing slides. Each slide detailed a different subsidiary of Twin Group, some with tons of info, others more briefly summarized.

"Here are the subsidiaries that aren't doing so hot," John explained. "You can pick from these. I've grouped similar companies together to make it easier."

Kaelen stepped up, grabbed the remote, and started flipping through the slides. Suddenly, he stopped. "These two medical equipment companies are struggling. Should we go with one of these?"

"No way!" Skyview cut in. If Kaelen suggested it, there had to be a catch. "Those medical equipment companies are actually pretty solid. Their revenue might not be sky-high, but it's still decent. Taking over such companies wouldn't really show off my skills. No, definitely not!"

Kaelen didn't push it and kept flipping through the slides. After a bit, he paused again and said, "These two food factories aren't doing well either, both having issues with commercial credibility. Taking over such companies would be really tough."

"I'm not interested in these food companies," Skyview said, shaking his head.

Kaelen kept flipping through the slides. After a moment, he looked at the slides and said, "These two software companies."

"No," Skyview said.

"How about these two health product companies?" Kaelen suggested.

"No," Skyview continued to refuse.

"These two clothing factories," Kaelen said, frowning.

"No," Skyview refused without hesitation.

Kaelen prided himself on staying calm, but Skyview's behavior was really getting to him. He glared at Skyview and snapped, "You keep rejecting everything. Fine, why don't you make a choice then!"

"Alright, I will!" Skyview agreed. Kaelen was too angry to speak!

Bridgette, fuming, said, "Damn it! Skyview, can you hurry up and make a decision?"

"Shut up!" Skyview snapped back. "I'm talking to Kaelen. It's not your place to interrupt. Watch your mouth!"

Bridgette was livid, completely losing her cool as she let loose a stream of every curse word she knew. But venting didn't help; it only made her angrier, making her want to punch Skyview. But she couldn't bring herself to do it, so she swallowed her anger until it made her so uneasy she started to cough.

Skyview grinned mischievously. "Oh, you want to hit me? Come on, if you have the guts, do it! Go ahead, hit me!" Skyview's annoying demeanor made Bridgette clench her fists, almost unable to resist hitting him.

Kaelen, however, quickly calmed down, patted Bridgette on the shoulder, and said, "Bridgette, don't stoop to his level. He's trying to provoke you. If you give in, you'll only upset yourself. The best move is to ignore him," Kaelen advised, tossing the remote to Skyview with a cold. "Take it!"
