Chapter 158 Overly Arrogant

"Keep taking notes, Lily," Skyview said, his voice laced with anticipation. "This is going to be big."

He continued to sift through the files, compiling a list of streamers who'd flown too close to the sun. He didn't need to bring down the entire industry, just make an example of the most influential offenders.

What he needed was a surgical strike to send a message to the entire livestream industry.

Eliminating all the lowbrow streamers from the entire livestreaming scene? Skyview lacked both the power and the energy for such an endeavor. This was a task that required government oversight!

"How many names do we have?" he asked, finally looking up.

"Ten," Lily replied, her pen poised above her notepad.

"Perfect. We'll buy out the top ten trending spots on Twitter. Let's see how these streamers like being on the receiving end of public scrutiny." A tired smile spread across his face. "This should shake things up a bit."

"When do we launch?" Lily asked, her eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief.

"The day after tomorrow," Skyview replied. "We need to soften them up first."

"And what about today?"

"Today," Skyview said, his voice low and dangerous, "we expose 'Boring' and Shark Streaming's dirty underbelly. We show the world that their success is built on a foundation of lies and technical vulnerabilities."

He leaned back in his chair, a predatory glint in his eyes. "You know how hunters weaken their prey before delivering the final blow? They wound them, let them bleed, let the dogs chase them until they're too exhausted to run anymore. That's what we're going to do to Hilda."

Lily shivered, a mixture of excitement and apprehension coursing through her. "You're a ruthless businessman, Skyview. Hilda never stood a chance against you."

"Business is a battlefield, Lily," Skyview said, his voice devoid of apology. "If I hadn't made the first move, Hilda would have crushed me without hesitation. Besides, Shark Streaming is a breeding ground for greed and materialism. It's time someone cleaned up the filth."

"You're so full of righteous anger," Lily said, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "And so capable."

She might not have been a scholar, but she knew a good man when she saw one. Skyview had achieved incredible wealth but remained grounded, driven by a desire to make the world a better place. He was everything she'd ever wanted in a man.

"And you, my dear Lily," Skyview said, his lips curving into a playful smile, "are a beacon of positivity. Beautiful, kind, compassionate, generous. You're almost too good to be true."

Lily swatted his arm playfully. "Oh, stop it, you charmer. You'll make me blush."

"I'm just speaking the truth," Skyview said, his eyes twinkling. "You're one of a kind, Lily. Never forget that."

"You're such a smooth talker," Lily said, rolling her eyes. "You're nothing like a billionaire."

"Who says billionaires can't be mealy-mouthed?" Skyview laughed. "Speaking of which, what do you think Hilda's up to right now?"

"Probably strutting around like he owns the place," Lily said, her nose wrinkling in distaste.

"Then let's bring him crashing back down to earth," Skyview said。

12:31 PM. Luminance Peak, 28th floor.

Hilda, true to Lily's prediction, was haughty. His arrogance was a tangible force, suffocating the room and grating on Benjamin's nerves.

"Let me make this perfectly clear, Benjamin," Hilda said, his voice dripping with disdain. ""Benjamin, Penguin Company is killing it compared to us! I mean, you guys made a killing last year! Why so stingy? I'm not backing down. Two billion or nothing."

Benjamin suppressed a sigh. He'd known Hilda would be a tough negotiator, but this was ridiculous. "Benjamin, sure, Penguin Company's been profitable, but it's not like money grows on trees for us. There's no way we can drop two billion! As for Shark Livestream, yeah, it's got potential, but your financials are a mess and let's face it, you won't turn a real profit in the next five years! you need to understand that joining Penguin Company gives you access to channels that are even more valuable than money! We've got video sites, social media apps, WhatsApp, news websites, web novel platforms, and we've acquired over a hundred media companies. Our network is incredibly strong! With all these channels working together to support the growth of Shark, isn't it more important than one billion dollars?""

Hilda smirked and said, "Right now, I want both the money and the channels!"

Benjamin glared at Hilda and asked, "On what grounds?"

Hilda responded with arrogance, "On the grounds of Boring! We have a billionaire willing to invest two hundred million. Let's face it, as long as we cater to Boring, our Shark platform will turn a profit! And you should know, a super-rich investor like Boring can attract even more super-rich investors! Shark is already a giant in the industry, but with Boring on board, we're unstoppable!"

"You're being incredibly arrogant!" Benjamin snapped, "Young people shouldn't be so arrogant!"

Hilda shrugged and said dismissively, "What's the point of being young if you're not a bit arrogant? I am arrogant! So what? Penguin Company wants to enter the livestreaming industry, but you haven't managed to build a successful platform on your own! For Penguin Company, the main benefit of entering the livestreaming space is to integrate it with your gaming division. You absolutely need your own livestreaming platform! If you can't create one, then you'll have to buy one! And if you're buying, Shark is clearly the best choice, especially now with the addition of a billionaire like Boring! Shark is practically your only viable option! Let's get this contract signed, Benjamin. I've already reduced my asking price to two billion!"I hold all the cards," Hilda said, leaning back in his chair, a triumphant smirk playing on his lips. "ApexTech is also vying for a piece of the pie. They've offered me 2.5 billion, but I find your company's ecosystem more… appealing. For now."

He stared at Benjamin, his gaze unwavering, his arrogance a physical presence in the room. Benjamin felt a surge of anger, a grudging respect for his opponent's audacity. He'd walked into a lion's den, and the lion was hungry.
