Chapter 114

Damn, were you still trying to flirt with me like this?

Others discussed strategies for the haunted house. Their animated discussion rendered them oblivious to transpiring events in our vicinity.

I told Lillian that I wasn't feeling well in my stomach and got up to go to the restroom.

The restroom wasn't crowded. Just as I walked over, I saw Kelsey washing her hands there.

Did she finish so quickly?

No, she was waiting for me to come over.

I was about to speak when she looked at me, a slight smile playing at the corner of her mouth. Then, she walked into the women's restroom.

'What does she mean? Does she want me to come in?'

I was so conflicted inside. Fortunately, this place wasn't visible from the outside.

Should I go in or not?

What if there was someone inside?

If I was caught, wouldn't I be seen as a pervert?

In the end, I didn't muster up the courage to go in the women's restroom.

Let's forget it; it's better to be safe than sorry!

I entered the men's restroom to pee and then went back.

After a while, Kelsey came over, her eyes looking somewhat complaining.

I gave a slightly apologetic smile. It's not that I didn't want to go in, but the risk was too great.

I stretched out my foot, and she actually pushed me away with her foot.

Damn, throwing a little tantrum, huh?

However, the more she acted like this, the more confused I became. It was our first meeting, and she was already like this. How many other people did she flirt with privately?

But when I probed just now, she was undoubtedly a virgin!

I didn't care much, so I pushed forward assertively. Kelsey shot me a glance and then buried her head in eating.

'Another one who likes to be dominated!'

'But I like it!'

Twenty minutes later, we were all satisfied with our meal and called the waiter over to pay the bill.

Kyle waved to the waiter. "Hey, can we get the check over here?"

The waiter respectfully walked over with the bill; he said, "Sir, your total bill is twenty-six thousand dollars!"

What!?

Twenty-six thousand dollars?

"How can it be so expensive?"

"Yeah, let's see the bill!"

Although the waiter was a bit annoyed, his professional demeanor still made him smile as he handed over the bill. Kyle took the bill, and a few of these guys gathered around to look at it. It read: [Wellington steak $500×12, French foie gras $128×12, Paris lobster $400×12...]

Someone even took out a calculator to check, and indeed, it was twenty-six grand, not a penny less!

The expressions of the seven people turned grim as if they had lost their souls. One of them said, "What should we do? I only have five hundred dollars on me!"

"I only have three hundred dollars in my pocket," another one said.

After pooling their money, it was only two to three grand, still more than twenty grand short!

Kyle looked embarrassed. He asked, "Can you girls lend us some money? We'll pay you back when we get back."

The five girls also looked unhappy. The agreement had been that the guys would pick up the tab, and the girls wouldn't have to pay. But now they were being asked to chip in.

Even if they split it evenly, it would still be four to five grand. They were all students, so where would they get so much money?

Throwing money at someone was like throwing a meat bun at a dog—once it's gone, it's gone.

"I've already used up my monthly allowance."

"Me too!"

"I have three hundred dollars here. Do you want it?"

Several girls said with disdain, looking at Kyle with contempt.

"The waiter, growing impatient, said, "Sir, we do accept credit cards here."

Their credit cards were already maxed out from all the car rentals and ticket purchases. How the heck were they supposed to use them now?

"Um, can I borrow your credit card to swipe?" Kyle asked the girls with a forced smile.

"I don't have one!"

"Sorry, I've used up my credit limit."

The girls said, their expressions becoming increasingly unpleasant. 'Are you kidding me? We're out here for a mixer, and they expect us to foot the bill? This has gotta be a joke.'

Kyle looked at Mya helplessly. "Mya, Kelsey, can you lend me some money first?"

Mya gritted her teeth. "I... still have a bit of my monthly allowance left; I'll transfer it to you."

Kelsey, on the other hand, said, "How can this be? You asked for the gathering, and now you want us to pay? Are you serious?"

Kyle and the others blushed, feeling utterly embarrassed and angry.

"Seriously, do you guys have any money to pay?" The waiter was growing impatient. "If not, maybe you should call home and ask for some."

The group fell silent, apparently out of better options.

I glanced at Lillian. She definitely had money but remained silent, obviously not wanting to get involved.

I thought about it. Since I had been footing the bill the whole time, why bother now?

I wasn't going to play out those cliché scenes from trashy novels.

"Let's go," I said to them.

Lillian nodded, "Mya, Kelsey, let's go!"

With that, she picked up her bag and left; the other girls also stood up. "Wait for us, we'll go together!"

The waiter didn't stop them; after all, Kyle and the others were still there. I glanced at their extremely complicated expressions.

Nowadays, if you don't have money, it's better not to date. Even if you do, you should go for something like grabbing a cup of instant noodles at a 24-hour convenience store.

The group of girls left, chattering away. "Who does he think he's fooling, acting all rich when he's broke as a joke!"

"Exactly, I knew Kyle wouldn't cut it. Mya, lucky you didn't fall for his game!""

After leaving Disneyland, I asked, "Are we still going to the haunted house next?"

"Yes, of course we are!"

"It's just a few bucks, and we'll pay for ourselves!"

The girls said.

I smiled. These girls were quite cunning; they had a meal at Disneyland, which cost over ten grand, and they were not paying a penny. I felt a bit emotional. Being a girl was pretty easy.

"My car can only fit three; the rest will have to take a taxi," I said, getting into the driver's seat. Lillian was in the passenger seat, Kelsey and Mya were in the back seat, while the other five took a taxi.

Twenty minutes later, we arrived at a haunted house called "Terrifying Ghost House."

The haunted house was huge, reportedly covering twenty to thirty thousand square feet and spanning four floors.

Because it was the weekend, there were a lot of people playing.

We waited for half an hour before it was our turn. The male tourists saw me accompanied by eight girls; their envy was palpable, and I was pretty pleased with myself.

Within the eerie confines of the haunted abode, muted illumination cast a pallid hue, punctuated by ghastly, green-hued glows, macabre spectacles of bloodied mannequins adorning the walls, a disquieting melody reminiscent of horror cinema resonating throughout, and the unsettling echoes of feminine distress piercing the air.

A group of women hid behind me, Lillian holding my right hand, Kelsey holding my left hand, Mya following closely behind me, the girls constantly screaming.

After passing through a dark corridor, we arrived at a classroom called "Third Grade, Class Two." Looking through the glass, I saw many people inside studying, but upon closer inspection, I noticed that they were all mannequins dressed as students!

However, they were still scared. Just then, a girl shouted, "Why do I feel like the mannequin on the podium moved!"

"Where? Don't scare me! My legs are shaking!"

At that moment, another girl screamed in terror, "He moved, he really moved; I saw him twist his neck just now!"
