Chapter 384

Everyone was all smiles and admiration.

Just then, Joshua rolled in with his crew. He noticed Cassandra's teary eyes but kept it cool in front of his guys. "Cassandra, you're back," he said, looking relieved.

"Yeah, I'm back," Cassandra replied.

Joshua didn't waste time chatting. Instead, he walked up to me and, to my surprise, knelt down. "John, thank you so much. From now on, you're the most honored guest of the Crimson Lotus Society."

"Thank you, John!" echoed hundreds of voices, including Cassandra's, as they all knelt.

I was flabbergasted. These folks were impressive, but their kneeling habit was a bit much.

I rushed to help him up but realized I didn't have my phone to translate. I glanced at Cassandra for help. She exchanged a few words with Joshua, which I didn't catch.

Joshua then spoke to one of his guys, who knelt and handed me a phone with a translation app open. "Joshua, you're too kind. I was just doing what you asked. Please, get up," I said quickly.

Joshua seemed even more impressed. "John, I beg you to marry Cassandra!"

I was stunned by the translation. "Joshua..."

Before I could finish, Joshua cut in, "Cassandra is already yours. I respect her choice. I'll manage the Crimson Lotus Society, and when your child is born, they'll inherit it!"

"We will serve your child with utmost loyalty!" the crowd shouted.

I looked helplessly at Cassandra, who gave a slight smirk before putting on an innocent face.

"If you don't agree, I won't get up!" Joshua insisted.

"Alright, get up. I agree," I said reluctantly.

"Thank you, John!" After Joshua got up, he invited everyone to a feast. The table was loaded with all sorts of delicious food.

Even though I'd been eating seafood every day, it hadn't been great, and my mouth watered at the sight.

Everyone was curious about our escape. In the big restaurant, the only sounds were me munching and Cassandra's speaking.

Every now and then, the crowd gasped, looking at me with admiration.

"John is my hero. We decided to be together on the island. From today on, John is also your boss!" Cassandra announced.

With that, they all knelt again. "Greetings, Boss."

I almost choked on my food. "No need to be so formal, we're all family!"

The crowd laughed.

Joshua chimed in, "As expected of the man Cassandra and I recognize, brave and resourceful, able to escape from a desperate situation."

I replied, "Joshua, you're too kind."

Joshua shook his head. "If you stay, I'll hand over the organization to you. You could lead the Crimson Lotus Society to new heights. Being the king of the gangs in Moxford, or even in Crystal Nation, isn't impossible. Please stay!"

"No way!" I quickly stood up. "I can't do that."

I thought, 'My home is in Simbara, with my family and loved ones, and I have my own career. Even if you made me president of Crystal Nation, I wouldn't be interested.'

"Alright, I've already discussed with John. After we handle things here, I'll go to Simbara with John. I'll leave the house in your care," Cassandra said earnestly.

"Cassandra, take me with you. We want to go too!" Ethan said anxiously. "Please take me!"

"And me!" Elijah chimed in. "Without Cassandra smacking me around, I feel off. Please take me so I can serve her."

"And me!"

"And me."

Almost half the crowd stood up, and Cassandra's eyes welled up. "Everyone, listen to me first! When we become the biggest gang in Moxford, you can all come with me to Simbara, okay?"

"Okay!" they shouted, pumped up.

That night, I moved into Golden Sunset Estates.

I filled a big bathtub and soaked in it, feeling super relaxed with someone massaging me.

Just then, the door opened, and Cassandra walked in. "You two, leave!" she ordered.

The maids left, and Cassandra, in a thin gauze robe, sat by the tub. "John, let me take care of you."

The robe barely covered her wounds, showing off her stunning figure. Her hair was up, and her usually cold face had a shy, charming look.

I pulled her close. "Let's make love."

Afterward, Cassandra lay in my arms. "John, are you leaving tomorrow? Can't you stay a few more days?"

I sighed. "My home is in Simbara, with my family, friends, and career."

Her eyes teared up. Over the past few days, I realized she had a tough exterior but a delicate heart. She grew up in the gang, lost her mom young, and craved family and love. To her, I was like the dawn lighting up her world.

"Alright, after I handle things here, I'll come to Simbara to find you!"

I nodded. "I'll also make time to visit you. It's only a three to four-hour flight."

She touched her belly. "I hope to bring you a surprise next time."

I carried her out of the bathroom and into the bedroom.

Early the next morning, before boarding the plane, she made love to me again.

I was filled with emotions. The past half month in Crystal Nation was more thrilling than anything I'd ever experienced. I was afraid no one would believe it if I told them.

At 2 PM, the plane landed in Greenvale City.

If it weren't for the Crimson Lotus Society's connections, I wouldn't have been able to return without ID.

I took a cab back to my apartment, opened the door, and found the place a mess, with takeout boxes everywhere. Clothes were scattered all over the floor.

I frowned and pushed open the bedroom door, seeing Linda and Stella lying on the bed.

I closed the door and started cleaning up.

After tidying up, the bedroom door opened, and Stella, in pajamas, leaned against the door frame, looking at me coldly.

I asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Stella said, "Why didn't you have any news for half a month?"

I scratched my head. "Something happened in Crystal Nation. I lost my phone and documents and almost couldn't come back."

Stella snorted, about to speak when Linda's lazy voice came from the bedroom. "Stella, who are you talking to?"

"Ms. Foster, it's me!" I glanced into the bedroom, and Linda's face instantly changed. "Stella, tell him to get out. I don't want to see him."

"Did you hear that? Linda doesn't want to see you," Stella said coldly.

"Ms. Foster, let me explain!"

"I don't want to hear it. Get out." Linda glared at me.

I got angry too. I just returned from Crystal Nation, hadn't contacted anyone, and the first person I thought of was her, yet she was mad. "Are you really kicking me out?"

"Yes!" Stella, with her belly showing, said, "If you have the guts, force your way in!" She was even threatening me.
