Chapter 261
"Don't play favorites; treat them fairly!"
No need to go on, I'm all about equality. Fairness is key, and favoritism isn't my thing.
Mia used to flirt only with successful people, but it felt fake and shallow.
Now, her charm is natural and irresistible.
I can't flirt too much here; it's the office, and someone might walk in.
I helped her button up. "This lingerie is too see-through. Only wear it for me in private."
"Got it, master. Just for you," Mia said, her voice dripping with seduction.
She blew in my ear, making my breath quicken. "Are you teasing me? There will be consequences."
"What consequences? Tell me, master," she whispered, nibbling my ear.
"There will be blood, there will be pregnancy. Scared?" I asked.
She laughed, covering her mouth. "So scary, I'm terrified!"
"You're so tempting. Do you think I won't take you right now?"
"I don't believe you." She kissed my cheek and got off me. "I have to supervise the filming. No time for games!"
"One day, you'll beg for mercy," I said. Just then, an employee knocked. "Miss Green, Ryan is ready."
"Coming." Mia straightened her clothes and popped two mints in her mouth.
"What's wrong, don't like it?" I asked.
"The taste of semen. If someone finds out, it's over," she said, wrinkling her nose. "Everyone would know the boss is fooling around with female colleagues."
Mia's been flirting with me all along.
In the next office, everything was set. One room looked like an apartment, with three young actresses and a popular script about roommates.
I watched for a bit; the plot was interesting.
Then, a cute, sexy girl caught my eye.
She was surrounded by snacks, watching videos and eating non-stop.
From the moment I walked in until the end of the shoot, she kept eating.
Her appetite was bigger than mine...
"What are you looking at?" Mia teased, following my gaze. "You always like young, pretty girls."
I laughed. "Is she one of our employees?"
Mia frowned. "Not sure, let me check."
Someone was asked to come over. "Miss Green, do you need something?"
"Is that girl one of ours?" Mia asked.
"She's a classmate of one of our actresses, Lily Everly, a junior," they replied.
"Why didn't we sign her?" I asked.
"John, we already have enough actors," they said.
I nodded. Everlasting New Media was growing fast, and too many actors were a burden.
We had three scripts maxed out, and Tony couldn't handle more.
The best bet was to find famous internet celebs, but they were expensive and often had contracts or their own companies.
"Alright, I get it," I said.
Mia asked, "Why, interested in her?"
"Let's not talk now, let's keep watching," I replied.
I kept watching her eat for over ten minutes.
Mia noticed too. "She eats a lot, that's not normal for a girl."
I smiled and walked up to her. "Hey, can I sit here?"
Lily looked up and nodded. "Sure, go ahead!" she said with her mouth full.
"I've been watching you for a bit. You really like snacks, huh?"
Lily swallowed. "Yeah, I've always had a big appetite. I need to eat a lot every day."
I was amazed. She was something else.
"Interested in joining our company?" I asked directly. Lily Everly was young, sweet, and had a great figure. She'd make a fantastic food broadcaster.
Top food broadcasters had millions of viewers, way more than our current channels. Even though the trend had dipped, food broadcasting still had huge potential, especially for ad placements.
Lily shook her head. "An actress? I can't. I'm not tall, my figure isn't great, and I'm not as pretty as them."
She seemed unsure of herself.
"Not as an actress. I want you as a food broadcaster," I clarified.
"A food broadcaster?" Lily looked puzzled. "You mean those who eat on camera? I can't. It's bad for your health. I love eating, but doing it just for the show would be awful."
I was surprised by her concerns.
She was right. Many food broadcasters eat gross stuff or binge and purge, damaging their health.
But that wasn't my plan for her.
"I get your concerns," I said. "But our food broadcasting is different. You won't eat gross stuff or binge. I want to take you down the high-end food broadcasting route."
Lily was intrigued. "High-end food broadcasting? What's that?"
"Stand up and spin around," I requested.
She looked puzzled but did it.
She wasn't very tall but had a slender figure and a cute, naive charm.
I liked her immediately, not romantically, but as a potential star.
Chemistry is crucial for broadcasters or stars. Beauty is important, but chemistry is key. We select actors through internal votes.
Without chemistry, no matter how beautiful, we don't hire them.
Lily had that obedient, cute charm that otakus love. And otakus spend a lot.
"Not bad, you have a good figure. I'm satisfied," I said. "Tell me about your family."
Lily looked confused but complied.
She came from an ordinary family and was an only child, which made me more confident.
"Are you a talent scout?" she asked, realizing something.
Before I could answer, Mia said, "He's our chairman, John!"
"So you're the boss," Lily said.
