After that incident, he never had the energy for sex again.
Nicole was disgusted but managed to put on a smile when she turned around.
Lucas was pleased. "Don't worry, I'll record it and send you a copy. She'll kneel and apologize."
"Thanks, Lucas!" Nicole said.
"No need to thank me. We're on the same team now. Next time you visit my office, I've got some fun sex toys for you to try," Lucas said.
I sneered, watching them finish up, ready to leave.
Just then, my phone rang.
I saw it was Lily calling and quickly hung up, but it was too late. Nicole and Lucas noticed.
"Lucas, your phone's ringing," Nicole said.
Lucas checked his phone. "Not mine! Is it yours?"
Nicole's face changed. "I've been holding my phone the whole time!"
"Someone else is here!" Lucas panicked, quickly tidying up. "Quick, catch them! If this gets out, we're done!"
Nicole turned pale, but I didn't give them a chance and ran.
"Stop right there!"
Ignoring the shout, I ran down the stairs.
They only saw my back, not my face. It'd be hard for them to identify me, even though I was in a black suit.
They wouldn't make a big fuss about it.
I exited the fire escape and saw Nicole and Lucas coming out of the elevator. I quickly hid in the restroom and waited before coming out.
That was close. Almost got caught.
Wait, even if they found me, so what?
With the video, they wouldn't dare threaten me.
But now they didn't know who I was, and I felt thrilled.
Back in the marketing department, I saw Nicole raging, grabbing a new employee and yelling.
Now she could only bully new hires.
"What's her problem now?"
"Who knows," Paul shrugged. "Maybe early menopause."
Just then, Mia messaged: [Didn't you have something to tell me? I'll wait for you on the rooftop!]
I quickly replied: [Radisson Blu at noon.]
Mia: [Okay!]
She looked uneasy.
I uploaded the video to a private cloud, created an anonymous email, edited the video to one-tenth, and sent it to Nicole's private email with a note: [I recorded everything.]
Nicole's phone vibrated. She checked it and turned pale.
"Nicole, you look awful. Overworked?" Philip asked.
Brandon added, "You should take care of yourself."
"Do I look tired to you?" Nicole snapped. "Mind your own business and get back to work!"
Philip and Brandon were stunned, wondering why she was scolding her own team.
I was delighted. She was in trouble now.
I couldn't wait to see what Nicole would do next.
Nicole stepped onto the stage with a microphone. "Everyone, attention, please!."
The noisy marketing department quieted down, and Jenny came out of her office. "Nicole, is there an announcement? I don't recall anything needing to be communicated."
"There's nothing from above, but I have something!" Nicole said. "I've received a report that someone is dating within the office and has been caught with evidence!"
The room erupted.
Skyliho Group never tolerated internal relationships.
Either one resigns, or both do. No transfers allowed.
Everyone knew about the secret office romances, but they kept quiet.
Being together every day, it's hard not to fall for someone.
I knew of at least five couples myself.
Nicole scanned the room. "I've decided with Lucas from the project department to crack down on internal relationships!"
"Everyone, unlock your phones. I'm checking them one by one!"
This shocked everyone.
"What? Check our phones?"
"Why should we?"
"Yeah, why check our phones?"
Reorganizing was one thing, but checking phones was too much.
Everyone has some privacy on their phones.
I thought, 'So this is her plan.'
It was a bold move, but she couldn't pull it off.
Even Jenny wouldn't dare to do this.
Skyliho Group prohibits internal relationships, but no one takes it seriously unless caught by the higher-ups.
But checking phones? Not even Steven would do that.
If this went through, employees would resent her.
"Quiet down!" Nicole panicked. She knew if the video got out, she was done for.
Not just her, but Lucas and even Linda would be implicated.
From my interactions with Linda, I knew she wouldn't let Nicole off easily.
"Put your phones on the table for me to check!" Nicole demanded.
"Why should we? We're not criminals!"
"Nicole, if someone is dating, fire them according to the rules. Don't involve everyone!"
"That's right."
"If you haven't done anything wrong, why worry? Are you dating?"
Nicole snapped, "Whoever opposes, I'll check their phone first!"
I glanced at Mia. She seemed calm, like she didn't care.
Well, she had her resignation ready, so she didn't care.
Lily was also calm, silent from start to finish.
The other supervisors were quiet too.
Jenny, holding a coffee cup, watched the show.
Only Nicole could do something so foolish to anger everyone.
"If you want to check my phone, I quit!"
A colleague spoke up. I knew he was dating someone.
"Fine, you're resigning now? I agree!" Nicole was furious. "Who else wants to resign? Speak up, I agree to all of them resigning."
"Me too!"
"Me too!"
"A mere deputy director is too arrogant. Without us, what does Skyliho Group have to boast about? My phone has important client info. With these clients, I can join any company in Sevan City!"
An old employee from Group Three spoke up, a consistent sales champion.
He brought in ten to twenty million dollars in revenue each year, a favorite of every boss.
"I'm leaving too. I've created so much revenue for the company. If you have the guts, fire me too!"
"Me too, me too!"
Twenty to thirty people stood up, at least half secretly dating.
With them around, checking phones was out of the question.
"We're here to work, not to be interrogated like criminals. I'll report your abuse of power to the leadership!"
"Fine, let's go to the chairman's office and explain to Mr. Walton."
Even those who were just watching stood up. "Let's go, we don't accept this."
