Chapter 340
The door lady gave me the once-over, not looking too friendly. "Every boy who shows up here says he's looking for someone. This is the girls' dorm, you can't just waltz in."
I didn't want any drama, so I pulled out some cash. "Ma'am, my sister lives here, Room 309. I've been trying to reach her all day, but no luck. We're really worried. Can you check for me? If she's there, I won't go up. If she's not, can you ask her roommate where she went?"
She took the money, her face lighting up. "What's your sister's name?"
"Aurora Cena!"
"Alright, I'll check. Hang tight."
I nodded, feeling jittery. Ava came over. "Mr. Cena, it'll be okay!"
I forced a smile but inside, I was freaking out. A few minutes later, the door lady came back. "Your sister's not in the dorm."
I blurted out, "Where is she then?"
"Looks like she went out with a classmate."
"Got that classmate's number?"
"Hold on, let me find it."
Money well spent. She rummaged around a bit. "Her name's Seraphina Reed. Here's her number."
I dialed Seraphina's number, but no answer for the first three calls.
Finally, on the fourth try, someone picked up. Amidst the noise, a voice asked, "Who is this?"
"Are you Seraphina? I'm Aurora's brother. Is she with you?"
"What? I'm not with Aurora. Ask someone else."
Click. She hung up!
"No way. I asked the girls in her dorm, they said she left an hour ago!" the door lady insisted.
Panic set in. I called Seraphina again, but she'd blocked me.
"Damn it, Aurora's in trouble."
"Ava, give me your phone!"
Ava handed it over, and I dialed Seraphina's number again. It rang a few times before getting cut off.
I quickly texted: [If anything happens to my sister, you'll pay!]
"Ava, call the cops, now!"
Ava got the urgency. The door lady looked freaked out too. "Should I call their teacher?"
"Yeah, thanks!"
I tried to stay calm and called Patrick. When he heard, he was livid. "Damn, they messed with your sister? Don't worry, I'll call the Sevan City police chief right now."
After hanging up, I figured they must be at a KTV in Sevan City because I heard singing in the background.
As time ticked by, my anxiety skyrocketed.
Then, a text popped up on my phone: [Don't call the cops, please. We're at Harmony Heights KTV, Room 303!]
I replied: [If anything happens to my sister, you'll pay.]
I turned to Ava, "Let's go to Harmony Heights KTV!"
We sped there, running red lights like crazy. Ten minutes later, we pulled up at Harmony Heights KTV. I told Ava, "Wait downstairs. When Patrick and the others get here, bring them up."
With that, I stormed in. It was getting dark, and the KTV was buzzing. I found Room 303 and took a deep breath before barging in.
What I saw made my blood boil!
Aurora was in some guy's arms, and he was forcing her to drink and groping her.
"No, I can't drink anymore, please let me go." Aurora was sobbing.
"Damn it!"
I grabbed a bottle from the table and smashed it over his head.
The bottle shattered, the guy screamed, blood everywhere.
Everyone in the room froze. Four big dudes charged at me, ready to throw down. I held up the broken bottle. "Anyone steps up, I'll mess you up!"
"John!"
"Sorry we're late!"
I took off my jacket and wrapped it around Aurora. Just then, a girl stepped forward. "I..."
"You must be Seraphina, right?"
She was shaking like a leaf.
"Good," I said, taking a menacing step towards her. "You thought it was okay to put my sister in danger? You have a death wish?"
The guy on the floor was howling in pain, while the others glared at me, itching to fight but holding back.
One of them yelled, "Security, get in here, quick!"
Soon, heavy footsteps echoed, and a bunch of beefy security guards stormed in, looking all tough. "Who's causing trouble?"
"Him, it's him!"
The head security guard sneered at me. "You got some nerve causing trouble here. You got a death wish?"
I stared him down. "You better stay out of this. You'll regret it."
"What did you say?"
The security captain cracked his knuckles. "We'll see about that!"
Just then, a voice boomed from outside, "Touch my men, and you're dead!"
Everyone froze.
Suddenly, a squad of burly guys in black barged in, with Ava right behind them. "Mr. Cena!"
I handed Aurora to Ava. "Get her out of here."
Ava nodded.
Patrick, fuming, demanded, "Who brought Aurora here?"
The security captain was stunned by the sheer number of guys. No one dared to move.
The room went dead silent.
"Try me now."
I glared at the security captain, his face going pale. Realizing his situation, he stammered, "Sir, we're just doing our job. Please, don't make it hard for us."
Patrick slapped him. "Damn it, even the owner of Harmony Heights KTV wouldn't dare talk to me like that. Who do you think you are?"
The security captain, no matter how dumb, knew he was in deep trouble. After the slap, he didn't dare make a sound, apologizing like crazy.
I snorted and walked over to the guy writhing on the floor. I stomped on his hand, and he screamed in agony.
The other guys with him turned white with fear.
I motioned for Seraphina to come over. Shaking, she walked towards me. "I'm sorry..."
"Don't make me repeat myself."
Seraphina, trembling, came closer. I asked, "Tell me what really happened. You better not lie."
"Mr. Wilson is a friend. He invited me, so I brought Aurora along."
I slapped her hard. "You think I'm stupid?"
I knew schools had these so-called 'pimps,' who'd bring classmates to KTVs under the guise of friendship.
But if it was just about drinking, she could've made up any excuse instead of hanging up on me and blocking me.
She clutched her face, her cheek swelling up.
I said, "I'll give you one more chance. Next time, it won't be just a slap."
Seraphina stammered, "Mr. Wilson asked me to find a pretty girl to hang out with him for a lot of money. He promised me ten grand!"
"Is that so?"
I sneered. "Give me your phone."
"What do you want with my phone?"
She clutched her bag tightly. With a nod, a few of my guys rushed over, grabbed her phone, unlocked it, and I checked her chat history.
Just as I thought. Her chat with one person was fishy, only showing money transfers, no messages.
