Chapter 360

[I'll wrap things up here ASAP and head back.]

This wasn't just for her, but for me too.

After chatting with Amelia, Mia shot me a message: [Got some killer news! Our company's fan count just blew past 40 million!]

[And get this, a quarter of them are Lily's fans.]

I felt a bit smug since I was the one who hired Lily.

[Awesome job.]

[Do I get a reward?] Mia sent a flirty pic: [Like, maybe a little fun time?]

This cheeky woman always knew how to get under my skin.

[Hold that thought till I get back.]

[It's such a bummer. We could've had some fun ages ago, but you ditched me for Greenvale City. So lonely here.]

I couldn't help but chuckle. 'How badly does she want me?'

Lauren: [I wanna hook up with you.]

She was always blunt. We had this deal—if we wanted something, we just said it.

[I'm in Greenvale City.]

[I know. I'll come see you in a couple of days. Is that cool?]

[Totally. Just give me a heads-up so I can pick you up.]

[Deal!]

Chatting with her was always no-nonsense.

Just thinking about Lauren's hot body got me all worked up.

The messages kept rolling in.

Lucy: [The new store's all set. Got a new manager, and most of the students are heading there now.]

[Thanks for the hustle.]

[No prob.]

[When are you coming back from Greenvale City? My mom's been asking about you.]

[Is it your mom or you who misses me?]

[Both, duh.]

[Anyway, hurry back. I miss you.]

Out of all these women, Lucy never fought for the spotlight. She quietly managed Dance Fusion Hall. Today, Dance Fusion Hall's revenue had topped 20 million dollars.

The third location was already in the pipeline, and I had big plans for expansion – flagship stores, nationwide reach, even going public wasn't out of the question. Thankfully, with Marry at the helm, I didn't have to micromanage every step. Aurora was proving to be a star intern, and Daniel, along with his girlfriend, were both working tirelessly. Things were good.

VelocityMart, however, was the real beast – a money-guzzling machine. In a single week, it had chewed through over 10 million, building its fleet of trucks, securing warehouses, and establishing its online presence.

But the returns were already impressive. In just three days, online sales had surpassed 4 million and were steadily climbing. With a 100% delivery rate and delivery times under twelve hours – even faster within the city – its potential was undeniable. Already, venture capital firms were circling, the highest offer reaching a cool 50 million. But I wasn't ready to relinquish control just yet.

I turned off my phone and started thinking about WY Media Company's future plans. Just then, my phone buzzed. It was a message from Jenny.

It's been ages, and this is the first time she's messaged me, and from a different account.

Jenny: [You there?]

[Yeah!]

[How's Greenvale City treating you?]

[Not bad!]

[What about you? How's life?]

Jenny: [I'm good!]

Then there was a five-minute silence. I had no clue what to say.

I didn't know why she was reaching out or if she still had feelings for me.

Otherwise, she wouldn't care.

[Do you know about my thing with Ms. Wilson?]

[Yeah.]

[I think you should bail from Skyliho Group, get out of that mess.]

[You want me to join Visionary Media Group?]

[Yeah.]

[You're always looking out for me, I know. Thanks.]

[John, if I get engaged, will you come?]

[No way! Unless you're really into the guy.]

[Ms. Smith, can you not get engaged to him?]

I sent the message and waited for half an hour, but she didn't reply.

I felt so helpless, like I couldn't do anything to help.

Just then, Linda kicked off the blanket and mumbled, "John, water."

I quickly got up, poured her some water, fed her, and tucked her back in.

Eleven o'clock rolled around, and still no word from Jenny. I knew better than to expect one.

But then Wendy messaged me: [Got some good news. Wanna hear it?]

[Yeah!]

[Abigail agreed to go with you tomorrow.]

[For real?]

I was over the moon!

I didn't expect her to agree so easily, [Thanks a ton.]

[Thank me? Thank yourself. Abigail's got a thing for you. I even asked her subtly, and she said she likes you. She always feels drawn to you when she sees you.]

Confusion swamped me. Drawn to me? What did that even mean? Was it really that simple?

I scratched my head, trying to figure out Abigail's thoughts.

I talked to her way less than I talked to Wendy.

A wave of caution washed over me. This was moving too fast. Abigail wasn't someone to trifle with. And even if I was inclined, I couldn't afford to get involved with anyone else. The stakes were too high.

[Like?] I asked, testing the waters.

She sent a smiley face, [Guess!]

I felt super annoyed.

I turned off my phone and couldn't sleep at all!

I thought, 'Quinlan, even with my help, your plan's probably gonna flop.'

I couldn't figure out what went wrong, so I just hugged Linda and tried to sleep.

Early the next morning, half-asleep, that weird feeling came again. I opened my eyes and saw her on top of me, going at it again.

"Linda, if you keep this up, I'm gonna be wiped out."

Linda hummed, "Isn't this what you guys love the most?"

"Love it, sure, but three or four times a day is overkill."

"Then why do you still go out and see other women?"

"See other women? No way."

"Whose hair is on your clothes, and the perfume? That's not mine."

Linda bit my chest.

The pain snapped me awake, "Linda, you got it wrong. I didn't go on a date."

"It's all for the company."

"John, do you think I'm stupid?"

Linda gritted her teeth, "You jerk, even having sex with you four times a day can't stop you from going out and hooking up with others."

I couldn't take it anymore. I flipped her over and pinned her down, "Do you know who he pissed off? Let me tell you, if this isn't handled right, he won't last in Sevan City."

"The Four are nothing compared to that person. They wouldn't even dare to speak up. Got it?"

After another round with Linda, I felt drained and thought, 'I need to chill with the sex.'

For the sake of the kid and for Lauren's visit in two days.

Lauren would come all happy, and I can't let her leave disappointed.

And Katherine, I thought about it and booked her a suite at the Sparkling Starlight Hotel for a week.

During the day, Marlow came to me, "Mr. Cena, got any ideas?"

I patted his shoulder, "Marlow, hang tight. We'll have answers soon."

I seriously considered what Yves said to me yesterday, 'Why should I help Skyliho Group? With this time, wouldn't it be better to open a branch in Greenvale City?'
