Chapter 139
"Alright, I'll accompany you when the time comes," Mary said.
"Remember to make some business cards; they should be of high quality, either gold-plated or silver-plated, not too fancy in content, and simple yet impressive!" she added.
Mary was experienced in this area, so I made sure to carefully heed her advice. After providing guidance, she remarked, "I've shared a lot; is there not a reward?"
I chuckled and replied, "Of course, there's a reward, but we'll have to wait until the broadband installer is finished.
She immediately understood and clicked her tongue at me, saying I wasn't being proper, as my mind was filled with dirty thoughts.
I asked her, "Have the hickeys I gave you faded?"
Blushing, she, half-embarrassed and half-annoyed, said, "You sucked so hard; the hickeys are so deep; how can they fade so easily."
Naturally beautiful, especially the dimples at the corners of her mouth were so enchanting.
That shy look made me want to embrace her petite figure into my own.
Just then, the repairman knocked on the door. "Boss, everything's installed; please come and check."
I nodded, turned on the computer, verified that the network was connected, double-checked everything outside, ensured everything was in order, and then made the payment.
After they departed, I couldn't resist any longer. I picked up Mary, closed the office door, and placed her on the large office desk.
"What... what do you want to do?"
I smirked, "What do you think? Of course, it's to do what lovers do."
Amidst her soft cries, I took action once again.
Lost in tenderness, drawing from sweetness, climbing bit by bit to the peak, finally conquering the summit completely, and it was two summits.
After about fifteen minutes, she was completely softened, her clothes in disarray.
"John, we can't... we can't do this now."
Mary gave a slight plea, and I quelled the flames in my lower abdomen before lifting her onto my lap. I kissed her and said, "Bringing you here is unfair to you. I want you to genuinely fall in love with me, to love me so deeply that you can't resist, and then willingly bring me down.”
"I won't bring you down." She pounded her fist on my chest. I grabbed it, looking at the red marks in front of her; I was very satisfied.
"Let's wait and see."
I turned on my computer, logged into the recruitment website, and began posting job ads. I even upgraded to a premium membership. Mary assisted me by bringing tea and water, and then she sat on my lap to offer advice. I felt delighted by her gesture.
I thought to myself, ‘Having Mary as my secretary would be so enjoyable.’ In my thoughts, Rita would be the finance manager, Jenny the business director, Lily the business supervisor, and Grace the company's social butterfly. The idea of this team structure filled me with excitement.
As for Kelsey and Lucy, they could just be decorative.
Being a premium member was efficient; within half an hour, I received seven to eight job inquiries.
An hour later, several people arrived one after another, and my requirement was simple: I only hired women.
In fact, women naturally have an advantage in marketing. Don't rush to deny it; it's an undeniable fact.
I didn't want unappealing or inflexible candidates. Mary took on the HR responsibilities, giving me a glimpse of being in charge. By eleven thirty in the morning, a total of seventeen applicants had arrived. Some of them appeared both attractive and highly capable at first glance. I was eager for them to begin working immediately, but Mary insisted on holding off.
After they left, Mary said, "Do you know why I disagreed with you hiring them?"
"Why?"
"They are beautiful and have advantages, but they are only suitable as decorations, not as employees. You should understand this logic, right?"
Mary continued, "In a startup company, you need employees who are proactive and eager for money, not these mediocre decorations!"
I said, "But clients like that kind of thing."
“Yes, clients appreciate it, but... those are small clients. Is your company solely focused on small business? For multi-million or multi-billion deals, do you believe these decorations can secure them by cozying up to them?”
"Let alone whether they can, in the end, these people will definitely corrupt the company's culture. How will you reorganize then? Fire all of them and recruit a new batch of people?"
I shuddered, feeling a sense of dread.
Mary was right; I had been thinking wrong. If the company was filled with such people, wouldn't it be a mess?
How could I continue to expect their arduous struggles?
If the company succeeded, it would grow its operations, and I couldn't allow a few bad apples to ruin everything.
"Mary, you are truly my wise helper. Without you, I would probably have continued to make mistakes."
I hugged her and kissed her deeply. "Meeting you is a blessing beyond measure!"
Mary blushed at my words but was still happy. "Actually, your ideas are good but not comprehensive enough."
Sensing that she had more to share, I inquired, "Mary, I'm certain you have some great ideas, don't you?" When unsure, seek advice. I'm just a regular marketer, not as experienced as Mary. Despite her seeming indifference, every word she uttered was insightful. Without Mary, I might have squandered over a million dollars without ever considering starting a business.
"Hire ambitious individuals who are motivated by financial success, as they will be crucial to your future success. Additionally, consider bringing on an experienced financial expert; offering a slightly higher salary can result in significant savings, particularly in the early stages of your business. A skilled tax consultant can also help simplify various complexities and provide you with peace of mind."
"Next, select a few of those decorations from earlier, negotiate separately, offer a higher salary, and establish a separate public relations department. If they refuse, recruit from major clubs; they all work at night, so they have plenty of free time during the day!"
With Mary's words, everything suddenly became clear to me.
The public relations department wasn't referring to crisis management, but rather the type typically found in clubs. In a sense, it could efficiently generate leads and offer security for the marketing department employees.
"Mary, you are so helpful!"
I truly adored her; she always gave me excellent advice.
Mary continued, "Don't get too excited yet; next, you need someone who can oversee everything as a general manager."
"Can't I do it myself?"
"You can, but the key is, do you have the energy to monitor everything all the time?"
She also mentioned, "Furthermore, you are overlooking the most crucial aspect, the fundamental advertising department! This necessitates someone with negotiation skills and highly professional talent.”
