Chapter 333
I kept my mouth shut, just waiting for her to spill the beans while we were getting it on.
"I wanna join your company. I got a solid engineering team, and our creds are top-notch. We've built a rep, so it's way easier for you than starting from scratch. That's my edge, and I don't gotta deal with those sleazy dudes!"
"Why?" I asked, totally confused.
"We're banging, why even ask why?"
"But didn't we agree to just hook up and not mess with each other's lives?" I said plainly.
"I'm not asking you to take responsibility."
She bit her lip and said, "Instead of hustling for business, I'd rather join you. This way, I don't have to stress about making a living or selling my body."
"Then why not consider Edward's offer?" I squinted at her.
"You slept with me, and still bring up Edward?"
She shot me a dirty look, "Ain't you proud of making him a cuckold?"
She saw right through me, and I felt a bit embarrassed.
"It's not gonna work between me and Edward. Not because he's a bad guy, but because I'm just not into him. I already wasted years of my life in a loveless marriage, and I refuse to do that again. You want me to sleep with him?" she scoffed, shaking her head.
I gave an awkward smile and thought, 'Edward, I tried. If she ain't into you, nothing I can do.'
Thinking about it, I felt more pumped.
"At least I like you. You're hot and strong. As long as I take care of you, you'll be happy, right?"
"Aren't you scared of catching feelings?"
"If it happens, it happens. I don't think I'll marry you. How about being your lover?"
Upon hearing these words, I was shocked. Being my lover?
That's a whole different ball game from just hooking up.
Lovers mean feelings, while hookups are just for fun.
I held up my chin and started thinking.
'Engineering ain't as easy as I thought. It's a whole new field, and without guidance, it's tough.'
'It's not just about taking on projects; you need pros.'
'Lauren's a pro, with a solid engineering team. Partnering with her, making her a shareholder, would make things way easier for me.'
"If you don't agree, forget it."
Lauren's eyes dimmed.
"I agree."
I chuckled, "Just thinking about how much equity to give you."
Short-term, I should give Lauren a bit more, but long-term, too much wouldn't be smart.
Her eyes lit up, "So, you agree?"
"I agree. You joining is a win for me."
"I thought about it. How about 30% of the shares?"
"Okay! More than I expected."
"You agree?"
"Agreed!"
I got more excited, "I'm so lucky, getting a company and a hot woman!"
"Keep it down, don't want anyone hearing us."
I didn't say anything and picked up the pace.
Half an hour later, we got dressed and walked out.
Lauren's walk was a bit off, 'cause my stuff was still inside her.
Her face was still a bit red. She glanced at me and whispered, "Wasn't that a bit much?"
"I've been craving it these past two days without sex!" I chuckled.
Luckily, the workers were all busy and didn't notice us, which helped Lauren chill a bit.
At noon, I called Savannah over and drafted a shareholding agreement.
Lauren's company was valued at eight million bucks, equal to 30% of the shares. Dance Fusion Hal's second store would keep running as usual, and the money still had to be paid.
Her company switched from a sole proprietorship to an LLC, renamed BlueSky Innovations, with Lauren as VP, handling all company stuff.
After making sure the contract was good, Lauren signed her name. She reached out her hand, "Mr. Cena, here's to a bright future together."
She threw a flirty look, adding another notch to my belt.
Then, I got the new interns to help out. The project would be done in half the time.
After ditching Liberty Square and heading over to Sevan City Art Academy, my phone buzzed. It was Edward.
"John, can I ask you something? Is Lauren teaming up with you to start a company?"
I was caught off guard, "Man, you got your ears everywhere."
"So, it's true?"
"Yeah, you got it!"
No way Lauren spilled the beans, so there had to be a snitch in her engineering crew!
That thought made me sweat bullets.
If Edward found out about me and Lauren hooking up, he'd flip. After all, he's kinda family now.
"That's awesome, I need a favor."
I couldn't help but laugh and cry. He wanted me to help him woo Lauren. What a mess.
Lauren had already made it clear she wasn't into Edward. You can't force feelings.
"Alright, I'll do what I can."
"Great, I'll owe you big time. Thanks, man." Edward hung up, all pumped, while I felt like I was in a jam.
I thought, 'Screw it, I'll deal with it later.'
When I got to Sevan City Art Academy, I headed straight to the vice principal's office. The school's been on break since last week, so Ruby had some free time.
But I didn't expect her to text me to come see her.
I pushed the door open and saw Ruby in a ballet outfit, massaging her feet.
I rushed over, "Ruby, dancing again?"
She looked a bit upset, "I sprained my foot!"
"Is it the left leg again?"
"No, it's the right leg!"
Phew, that was a relief. If it was the injured left leg, a sprain in the right leg wouldn't be as bad. I sighed in relief.
"You always keep me on my toes."
I was so used to Ruby, I slipped into a casual tone.
It was hard to see her as an elder.
"Where's your medicine? Let me help you out."
"Then I'll go change my clothes!"
Her face turned a bit red, and I helped her to the dressing room. Soon, I heard her changing inside.
My heart started racing.
Ruby came out in a knee-length skirt, her hair down, looking all gentle and elegant.
Her long, smooth thighs were mesmerizing.
If it weren't for the varicose veins on her calves, they'd be perfect legs!
"Ruby, take it easy."
She sat in the chair, and I helped her recline it. I sat on a stool, took her swollen right foot, poured some ointment in my palm, warmed it up, and gently massaged it.
At first, she furrowed her brows, but then her expression softened.
Her body started moving slightly.
Her red lips parted a bit, looking irresistibly alluring.
Without a word, I felt a stronger connection between us. After twenty minutes, I let go of her foot, and she blushed, saying, "Thanks!"
"Ruby, it's been almost a week since we last saw each other, right?"
I suddenly asked.
Ruby nodded, "Exactly a week."
Looking at her angelic face, I leaned in and said, "Did you miss me?"
She stiffened, then nervously said, "How are things with Aria? I heard from Ms. Bennett that Aria is now partnering with you to start a company. You should treat her well."
"Ruby, I don't have many feelings for her. We're just colleagues now."
"Then let me find someone else for you?" she asked.
Her face grew redder, even her earlobes turned red, and I asked, "Ruby, don't you miss me terribly?"
"You little rascal, I'm your aunt. You're so shameless to say that."
She blushed.
I felt a surge of heat inside, "Ruby, I've missed you."
"Alright, I know. I've missed you too. Let's go back; my sister misses you too."
She wanted to leave, but I placed my hands on her shoulders, "Let me look at you a bit more."
Her expression at that moment was incredibly cute!
