Chapter 310
I dragged Aria back to WY Media and called in Holly and Mia Green. "Hey everyone, meet Miss Evangeline. She's gonna be running our second-hand luxury e-commerce platform, LuxeLore, from now on!"
I introduced Aria to the big shots at the company.
Once everyone got the intros out of the way, Ava started jotting down notes from the meeting.
I wrapped it up, "LuxeLore is crucial. It's about building our own ecosystem, our own loyal customer base, instead of relying on third-party platforms."
Everyone nodded, getting the importance of LuxeLore for WY Media.
"Ms. Foster, I need you to assemble a team, stat. Developers, marketing, the works. Time is money."
The meeting dragged on till three in the afternoon. By then, Savannah Lee was set to head abroad with Aria, and someone from Holly's team was tagging along too.
But Mia gave me this look, kinda annoyed. After everyone left, she pouted, "Why is it that every executive you bring in is a woman? And not just any women, mind you. They're all breathtakingly beautiful. It's like you're collecting them!"
I pulled her close. "What? You think you're not beautiful? Or not confident?"
Mia grumbled, "Come on, spill it. You got something going on with her?"
I didn't hide anything and laid it all out. She eyed me suspiciously. "So, she wants to be your side chick?"
I sighed, "There's nothing between us. I've made it clear. We're just friends, and soon she'll be my subordinate, so it's a no-go."
Mia wasn't buying it. "No way, she's so forward and sexy. Even I find her tempting."
I laughed, "You're the one who's irresistible. Scared of a little competition?"
I explained, "Honestly, her style is too out there for me. I prefer someone like you. You're comfy to be around. I don't wanna hug a woman with muscles like mine!"
She couldn't help but laugh at that.
I reassured her, "Don't worry, no one's taking your spot, no one!"
In my head, I added, 'At least not in the top five!'
She gave me a skeptical look, "Alright, I believe you."
I smirked, "I'm being so honest. Don't I get a reward?"
She gave me a flirty look, grabbed my coffee, took a sip, held it in her mouth, and then...
I got all excited.
She was definitely seductive, making me feel amazing.
After a bit, she swallowed and asked, "How's that for a reward?"
"Perfect!" I grinned.
Though, it was a bit much for my body, considering I already had a round with Amelia this morning.
She said, "I gotta go now, the company's crazy busy."
As soon as she left, Ruby called, "Did you hit up Cyber Academy?"
"Yeah!" I answered.
Ruby said, "Mrs. Bennett told me. She said you did good, and her daughter likes you!"
I felt kinda stuck.
I said, "Ruby, I really don't like her. She's not my type at all. I only like you!"
"Just give it a shot!"
"No way, she's already working for my company."
"What?" Ruby was shocked.
I filled her in on the e-commerce deal, leaving Ruby speechless, "You went on a blind date and ended up hiring her? That's wild!"
I scratched my nose, "Maybe it's fate."
"Alright, I'll find someone else for you."
"No need, Ruby. I told you, I like someone like you. No one else."
"What's so great about someone like me?"
"Doesn't matter, I just do!"
"Okay, I'll keep looking." After hanging up, I felt a lot better.
The real reason I was putting more into Aria? Stella.
A university president's got mad connections and can rake in serious cash through side gigs. No way I’m missing out on that.
Having my own resources would be super handy.
I’m all about making that money.
Before heading back to Skyliho Group, I lit up a cigar to mask any lingering scents.
When I got there, Amelia was just staring at her computer, totally zoned out.
Even when I walked in, she didn’t notice.
I snuck up behind her, "Amelia, what’s on your mind?"
She jumped, "You scared me! Why do you move so quietly?"
I grinned, wrapping my arms around her, "What’s got you so preoccupied?"
She gave me a look, clearly not in the best mood, "Just thinking about a certain someone who can't seem to stay out of trouble."
"Is that someone me?"
"Maybe."
I pulled out a box from my pocket, revealing a platinum ring with a diamond, "Got this just for you. Like it?"
She was happy at first, then her face fell, "This must’ve cost a fortune, right?"
The ring was a cool $100,000, but for me now, that’s pocket change.
I'd been showering the women in my life with gifts – it seemed only fair that Amelia received something special too.
Especially Amelia. She'd been my first in so many ways, and despite the relatively short time we'd known each other, she'd awakened a depth of feeling in me that I hadn't thought possible.
"It's yours. You deserve it."
"But it’s too much!"
She said, "John, I know you’ve been doing well for yourself, but you can’t just blow it all. What if we have kids someday?"
I chuckled, "Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty."
I slipped the ring on her finger, and it fit like a glove.
I felt a wave of gratitude. How lucky was I to meet such an amazing woman?
"The tag’s off, and the ring’s on. No take-backs."
Amelia was both annoyed and touched, but soon, she smiled.
"Is this your promise to me?"
I said, "As long as I’m around, I won’t let anything happen to you."
A woman willing to have your kids, there’s nothing more to say.
She hugged me and gave me a sweet kiss.
Sweet.
Exciting.
Passionate.
But as we kissed, something felt off. She started to undo my pants.
I grabbed her hand, feeling weak from our morning session. Three times a day was pushing it!
She hesitated, whispering, "What’s wrong?"
"It’s almost quitting time. What if someone walks in?"
"Don’t worry, it’s the least busy time. No one will come." She blushed.
"We already did it this morning. Let’s wait till tonight."
I thought, 'Give me some time to recover.'
She shyly nodded, maybe realizing she was coming on too strong.
These women, why were they more eager than me?
She sat on my lap, admiring the ring on her hand, her joy obvious.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. Amelia jumped, quickly got off me, and opened the door. Ms. Charlotte said, "John, Mr. Foster wants to see you."
"Okay, I’m coming!"
I thought, it’s almost quitting time, what does he want now?
I walked into the deputy general manager’s office, "Mr. Foster, you needed me?"
"Got any plans tonight?"
I frowned internally, wondering why she cared about my plans.
"I’ve got an appointment tonight."
"Cancel it. I need you to drive me somewhere."
"But, Mr. Foster, I’ve got plans with friends."
She said, "Don’t forget, you’re my driver now. Serving me is your top priority."
She’s got injured legs and still wants to go out...
I felt annoyed but couldn’t say anything, so I nodded, "I’ll cancel my plans then."
"Good."
